Yes, he only deserve to be in the top 6 spot, I don't think there's any chance for him to win the Ballon d'or. Hadn't been he won the world cup, Golden boot and golden ball, this conversation everyone has been saying would have ended. He would have 90% chance of winning the Ballon d'or after that performance he showcased. Him playing in MLS also hinder his chances, he wouldn't have been part of the candidates if he didn't participate in the world cup. The only thing left for him to win is the super Ballon d'or, which will be awarded in 2029, which makes him end up with total of 9 Ballon d'or.

Left to Messi alone he wouldn’t be interested in this award, so if he doesn’t it’s nothing to him. Leo has won so much that he doesn’t care about individual awards anymore, but focuses more on team accomplishments. But the nominations keeps coming, so even if he doesn’t win this award he won’t be bothered. Same way he didn’t bother about any personal award during the World Cup. His dream would be for someone from Barcelona to win this award.

I opened one of the betting summary websites, Oddschecker. It turns out Kane is the favorite player to win that individual award. Actually, I do not agree because I personally prefer Lamine Yamal. There are still about 7 days left for voting, so there might be significant changes. However, it seems to be difficult. Kane, Yamal, and Mbappe are all my favorite players.

I am definitely not in favor of this campaign. I believe that Mbappe and Lamine Yamal are both worthy candidates for the Ballon d'Or but their campaigning can really be detrimental to the real deserving players. There are other contenders besides them. They should stop such campaigns by prioritizing the fact that the results are not influenced in any way. And if this kind of campaigning works for winning, then more campaigns will start in the future which will make it difficult for a real deserving player to win the award. It is certainly a shame to do your own campaigning, such campaigns can also reduce the real votes of the players. Those who are voters may even change their minds.

I was about to talk about this before seeing your post. It's quite ridiculous that both of them have to make FIFA believe that they are the best candidate for the Ballon D'or,  which does not show class in anyway. Mbappe has had a consistent performance over the years with impressive individual record, Yamal on the other hand has barely played consistently for 3 years since his debut at Barca.

Though winning the world cup gave him an edge over Mbappe, but that should be the decision of FIFA, it is not a political position that deserves such campaign from both the candidates and teammates as well.

With what they are doing, if I am to vote or given the opportunity to be one of the voters, I will not vote for them anymore. My vote we go for another player.

I seriously don't know why mbappe is in contention for the ballon d'or yes he was the highest goal scorer in the champions League, la liga,  and the world cup this would definitely get him to the top 5 at least but not the top three, because he didn't win any trophy in his club side and not even In his country too (real madrid and france, two of the best teams in the world), and he is not the best player in any tournament that he participated in, the ballon d'or is not all about goals, there is an award for the best striker they should give him that...

You should need to understand that Balloon d'Or have a specific criteria like if you have good individual performance at team and club and also your team won major trophy then probably you will be considered as Balloon d'Or nominations. So Kilyan Mbappe is the man who have good individual performance at club as well as at team too although he didn't won the World Cup or any other major trophy. But contribution is contribution like his goals and performance is the assets to consider for Balloon d'Or nominations.....

I don’t also know why Rafinha is always omitted when considering players to get individual award, Barcelona always prefer to push Yamal instead of Rafinha, and in the last season when Dembele won the Ballon, Rafinha had a better season than Yamal by scoring more goals and making more assists than Yamal and Dembele, yet, they pushed Yamal and Dembele won ahead of Yamal because he had a better season than him, but if it was Dembele, he would have won.
And now, they didn’t involve him among the players in the top 30 players nominated, he deserve a spot more than some players in the list.

Maybe one detail goes a bit too far, saying that Yamal did not have a single good performance in the Champions League, but what overall holds true is that Harry Kane did not have a single bad performance in the Champions League, in the Bundesliga and the World Cup. It was mind-blowing how he delivered like a robot. Therefore, in my opinion it would be an utterly wrong signal to the younger football world if Yamal wins it.

So who are you betting on? I'm a bit hesitant, because Yamal is also good, but I might go with Kane for now. I just saw some media coverage suggesting that Yamal could be great, but in this campaign he looks a bit immature. Maybe Yamal is still too young to win this title. Kane's stats might have better records than Yamal, looking at goals, records, and efficiency. But if you look at creativity and individual actions on the field, Yamal seems better. It's a tough choice, I have to be ready to lose my money.

While mbappé and lamin Yamal are making noise, at the end of the day it might end up not being any of them 
Messi, Kane, olise and others are just quietly observing waiting for whoever will win it, that is also what I expect from both of them as professional players but the do otherwise.

I think Kane is the only option here. I mean why Mbappe? Did he win anything last season? Runner up in Spain, no success in the UCL and and of course a strong WC.
Kane on the other hand scored the most goals of all the players, won the (mandatory) title in Germany, won the German cup, beat Mbappe in the quarter final in the UCL (winning both games) and also had a solid World cup.

So yeah, Kane all the way, and I am a Bayern hater for life.

After a massive PR campaign for Yamal kicked off (and subsequently every player except Kane began campaigning for themselves), Yamal’s odds rose slightly while Kane’s dipped a bit, however, the situation has now reverted, with Kane once again the clear favorite. It seems everyone was compelled to look at the facts and found nothing there that could deny Kane this year's award. It seems many people have gone down the same path as you.
Still, it will be very interesting to see how the players perform in their head-to-head match, which takes place on September 26.
