With some of the rules Ballon Dior itself has said in previous days after the World Cup, everyone is saying that Mbape is in good position to win the award, i support that because when it comes to individual performance, Mbape is far better than any player in the world currently, Mbape is the one who won all the Golden Boot in major competitions, he won La Liga golden boot, Champions League golden boot and the World Cup golden boot, which shows how consistent he has been.

Ballon Dior has lost his credibility if not Mbape and Harry Kane deserves the award because these players are the best strikers in the world, i don’t know why Yamal and Messi are among the top 5 players to win the award, Messi only had a good performance in the World Cup and Yamal was nowhere to be found throughout the tournament, Dembele also shows that he can only score and perform well in PSG, Mbape or Harry Kane are the favourites to win the award.

Kylian Mbappe scored a lot of goals, but I do believe that he doesn't deserve to win the Ballon D'or, since Real Madrid didn't win a trophy in the last season. I agree with other forum members about Ballon D'or being a personal award, but football is a collective sport and a player must contribute to the success of his team first. I'm not saying that Mbappe doesn't contribute to Real Madrid, but he is being criticized for being too greedy and not playing for the team.

I will have to agree with you on this, Mbappe has got crazy numbers in this time frame, not to mention that his won individual awards to back up his numbers, La Liga Pichi chi award, Champions League golden boot and the world cup golden boot, not to mention that he won the world cup golden boot with a record breaking goal of 10 beating his own previous records of 8 goals in the last world cup and setting new records, scoring most goals in a single world cup and also becoming the highest scorer in the history of the world cup. That's really funny, I understand that the criteria changes when it involves Messi, it happened 4 years ago, they gave him they gave him the award based on the world cup performance which brought in a lot of debates as to why he was handed that award but that's by the way. So you still want to use another 8 matches to judge a full season? The criteria for winning the award boils down to your performance throughout the whole season and not just few games, Mbappe has been exceptional good throughout the season and it's not that he didn't perform in the world cup as well. Dembele would even have been ahead of all of them if only he was active throughout the season, Enrique reserved him for the important matches which made him not to play enough on their league and used him mainly in the knockout stages of the UCL, to me that reduced his chances, if he was actively involved in most of the matches last season, there won't be this debate even because he would have won it but as it stands now, I don't think so unless he will start pulling numbers from now till October because your performances when the season starts also counts as well.

The criterion to win this award this year could be anything FIFA come up with and no one can question it but if we are to judge by what has made some players win this award I think Harry Kane is among the favorite followed by Dembele because he won the champions league, Lamine Yamal because he won the world cup, Rodri also won the world cup but there are some areas he doesn't meet up and also Mbappe is among so these are players people are anticipating on to win the award.
