We are all choosing who will be the next president. But a better angle to face will be the system that is already in place, the good and the bad. Who is likely to make certain changes that will favour everyone. I believe high sit like that comes with a lot of responsibilities and choosing the right person for the job is one of the greatest challenges. Trump may support Infantino, but that does not mean Infantino is still in that office because of Trump backing. I refuse to believe that because it is members of the congress that decides that. The fact that he is still there means he has support on the inside.

We all refuse to accept that, but what can we do? It's clear that those in power control everything, and organizations like FIFA are also under their control. It's just that this time the audacity was much greater, because Infantino dared to say it publicly.

Don't be surprised if FIFA ends up under his control; they'll do things their way. For me, it would be much fairer if he were no longer at FIFA, much less as president, but these things are beyond our control.

There are also criterias used in selecting who will be the FIFA president beside that aspect of political influence and motivation, you don't know that this is not an open vote whereby everyone across the world determine who to be the president, you have the procedures and guidelines that makes it possible for few candidate they have been suggesting to emerge the FIFA president.

Infantino is a smart player. He knew the consequences of what he was doing and was ready to find the needed help from allies. He should have known that if he couldn't get his initiative passed, the Europeans weren't going to let it go.
He remained president of FIFA, but not everything went according to plan, and he is facing some negative consequences. Like, limiting his ability and thinking about how important it is for him to fail in the future.

If everything is very well prepared, then of course he had a very good reason to take all those risks. In this case, we just have to wait, but it's clear that, given how things are going, Infantino could win again.

The only way is for the football confederations to vote against Infantino, which is the most logical thing to do, but we already know how this ends.

What bothers me is continuing to see these matches, which, if they're fixed, will be sold to private organizations when you least expect it.

Just look at the number of bettors who chose Infantino over other candidates. I believe this can show how much the entire football community, not just federations, supports him without the political influence. He has a proven, reputed history of running a massive organization. That is credibility and professionalism.
With all the detractors and opponents, there is no question that he becomes inevitable to carry out plans in the short to medium term for FIFA, including planned reforms.

There was a report that Fifa wanted to sell some stake into some companies in US to improve how Fifa was going to organize the future of Fifa and somehow, it turned political. I'm not sure why they made it obvious that investors are bad for football but it's for the best. I have watch World cup at least 3 now that I'm not satisfy with how the organizers handle the show, very poor. The Qatar was fair, the last one was worse but instead they blame the president for trying to sell Fifa  

Fifa isn't one person, it full of people and the same people that are complaining do the same thing. The way everything is playing out now is like civilians that are been convince. Big sports organizations are now working under influence of powerful countries, it is not important who is going to be next because it's all set those have influence, they will surely bring their own candidate and then have all what they wants to do; recently how things worked in FIFA World Cup, all was wide open - no one able to bring significant changes because now it's who is controlling takes big profits.

Currently as things are going, most chances are the current president has enough chances for staying on for another tenure, but if they are going to have change, then surely it's only going to be a change in person level only, not in policies and their system, which is corrupt and never working for fair and balanced events. Soccer is one of the most followed/watched events, and it has enough profit just because of this. Now everyone wants to control, but right now big ones have enough influence to stay in control and take their share from this corrupt system.

these associations are very, very interested in money, i wonder how it is possible to give certain people the opportunity to get involved and make this mess happen, i limit myself to following sport in a very targeted way with events where i think there is as little corruption as possible, but this too is not easy, i understand that football has many interests, but it is still a popular sport, we cannot let them take advantage of it in this way.

We live in a world where if you don't have power, you're nobody, and you can't achieve anything without help. Infantino's support comes from high-ranking officials who, with just a simple request, grant his every wish. Unfortunately, football now operates this way, entirely in the hands of people who don't believe in the sport itself, but rather in the business side of things.

FIFA has always been embroiled in corruption. This was exposed many years ago, and not much has changed now; they simply operate with more brazenness and try to normalize it.

Hmm, it isn't right to represent FIFA solely by its president. However peoples debate in this thread that nothing will change if president changes is barely correct.

To me actual problem is governance.
Yes who carries presidency is undoubtedly important.
But even more paramount is transparency with which the Council, Congress and member associations operate as well as how major commercial decision are made.

Infantinos suggested FIFA Forward Enterprise plan has now been abandoned. And FIFA has announced plan to present review of it to Council. Therefore it is incorrect to view the controversy merely as matter of personal rivalry.

As for the next world cup, the absence of messi and maybe ronaldo would actually change the atmosphere, most especially for people like us who enjoy the banter when after their games and judge their performance and for sure without them football will definitely continue, but that particular era of entertainment may not be the same again and honestly, FIFA politics is a very very good reminder that removing one person does not automatically remove the politics from the system.

We say this things as if we are there and we have the evidence but if they ask you in court about the things we say on the internet, we will be quiet because all the things we say are pure speculations, no real evidence to back up the things we say. Infantino led fifa like other fifa president but he was more involved in politics than any other people and of course, not every one will like you as soon as you form an ally in politics that some people don't like, they hate you for it.


The people that are making noise about Infantino will not determine the outcome of his vote, there has been many vote of elections that people weren't interested on but this one is politically motivated and we all know why, it was because of how fifa turned out. We may all hated Donald Trump but you can't hate Infantino, he is coming back and will do another tenure unless he is not interested again.

Naahh, when we are looking at how voting in "FIFA" actually works, Mr. Infantino himself is almost guaranteed to stay in power for the next election in March 2027. It will basically comes down to the "one country, one vote"-system, so all have the exact same voting power. Infantino spent years securing the support of Africa (CAF) and Asia (AFC) by pumping huge FIFA Forward money into them. These continents hold the majority of the votes, UEFA can complain all they want, mimimi... they just dont have enough votes to push their own candidate without support from Africa and Asia. If he is not running into some major legal trouble, nobody is taking that seat from him never.
