All those that sold their bitcoin in an early stage because of the price are regretting it for not trusting in it's potential, as an investor one needs to be patience if you really want to grow, you don't need to focus on the price at all time  because Bitcoin investment is basically for a long term of four to ten years which I am sure that your entry point does not remain the same after a long period when you will be willing to sell off , bitcoin grows gradually in potential not speedily and until you are able to understand that then you will achieve your goal without panic to sell at any dip .
Building a reasonable holding of Bitcoin doesn't require rigor. All you need is a simple strategy like DCA. The opportunity for regretters to re-enter the market is not over yet. You can start investing in Bitcoin at any time. The Bitcoin market may seem strange to you initially, as I realized during my early days of investing. Trying to adjust yourself to the price fluctuations gradually will put you in a stable position. Saving Bitcoin regularly while staying connected to the Bitcoin market through discretionary income is a sound strategy.

Try to be consistent in your Bitcoin accumulation rather than waiting for the market to stabilize, where the price will fluctuate but you will remain a disciplined investor.

For me there is a part of regret if you are an early buyer of bitcoin at that state because at the first place is we didnt know that the price of the bitcoin will rise up until that price imagine if the bitcoin still have the same price like that so people will not become interested, its just like the money we are willing to let go because there is no assurance with an investment. With this right now bitcoin has a value already so all you need is proper risk management if you think the price is now going downward and there is no potential at all cut losses is ideal but its seems price of the bitcoin will get too far from that now. Now i started too accumulating bitcoin as I can because after couple of halving's and limited supply and if there is still a demand there is a potential value.

The long term duration should be stated clearly to be something like the four to ten years and above so that people can really know that there is no benchmark towards how long you can hold when considering the long term duration, this is because people can hold for ten years and not be in profits because no one actually knows with certain how and what ten years of their will be like, the future is still uncertain, people should buy and hold Bitcoin for long term of 4 to 10 years or more, this sounds more reasonable than saying a long term of four to ten years, the patient in holding is for as much as necessary it should be.

Always thinking of taking profits as an investor will make you sell when you are supposed to be holding because of just small profit and it's not also all investor that is in for profit some are accumulating bitcoin as a future asset to there children also know bitcoin also serve as a store of value.

How can an "investor" not expect profit? The reason a person is called an investor is to get profit out of his investment. It's not a charity donation.
Profit is not the only reason I am into Bitcoin. It has made my life easier when I want to make cross-border payments to people I know. It also created an easier means for me to receive payment for my work and other things. I don't have to go through Western Union and other payment services like Payoneer that I used in the past. But it would be a lie if I said the reason I accumulate and hold Bitcoin for the long term is not to make a profit. If Bitcoin didn't give any profit, it was just stable like normal fiat, I would definitely still use it as money because it makes things easier for me, but I won't accumulate and hold it for the long term as I do now.

Different people have their various reasons why they hold Bitcoin. Some might hold it for their kids, as you said, but the most general reason people hold Bitcoin, for the long term at least, is to make a profit.

The long term duration should be stated clearly to be something like the four to ten years and above so that people can really know that there is no benchmark towards how long you can hold when considering the long term duration,
Basically their's no specific variations, but people randomly says it's intervals of five [5] and ten [10] years above...but it's not stipulated or documented anywhere for the time frame of long-term holding..I think what people do for the duration is exaggeration, so I'm of the opinion of holding until you meet up your targets...

Quote
this is because people can hold for ten years and not be in profits because no one actually knows with certain how and what ten years of their will be like,
Theirs no certainty of making profit after you have hold for more than ten [10] years...Their's every tendency that the price might rise above the price you bought before eight [8] years time...but within nine [9] to ten [10] years period or time, the price can possibly fall woefully..So that's why i said that ten years holding doesn't guarantee for making profit...but if you have target, you can make profit above your capitals, due to your target comes to reality...

It's really a thing to regret selling at that time, despite making profit at the time of sale, but compared to the price of bitcoin right now, he must really be filled with regret for selling too early. I really will not blame him for selling at that time,  because I don't know how long he has hold the bitcoin and also how much he bought it, but he would have made more profit now. I have always advocated that the best way to make good profit in bitcoin investment is to accumulate and hold for a long time and hopefully you will definitely make good profit. In his case I believe that he has accumulated it for a long time and he thinks it's the right time for him to sell, but he later regretted based on the price of bitcoin right now.

And it seems he still can’t let it go given that he was still tweeting about it in 2022 even though he had turned that old tweet into an NFT sale by then.

Anyone who sells Bitcoin in the short term will regret it, because you can never easily throw away long-term yields. So the longer you hold it, the more opportunities there are to profit, where @Greg Schoen is still regretting it. That's why I say that investing in Bitcoin for the long term is definitely ready to give you the most benefits if you can hold on.
Otherwise, you will definitely regret it like him.

Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price?

I never want to give up Bitcoin easily, the past cycles have proven it and the future will prove it. Because the price of Bitcoin has been increasing according to the halving cycle, we must be patient. The more patient we are, the higher the price we can sell our Bitcoin.

And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you?

Of course I am sure that the price of Bitcoin will be the most profitable, and I will be able to gain benefits. Because in 2025 the price of Bitcoin was the highest price ever, here every person who sold Bitcoin at a cheap price regretted it, again the price of Bitcoin may double from the past in the next bull market.

~~~
Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you?
If someone's conviction is based solely on price increase then they may panic sell asap they see 30/50% correction.
But those who have conviction about long term adoption of Bitcoin I don't think they much care about this temporary volatility. So why are you holding Bitcoin? It is important to realize first.
If someone buys Bitcoin only on the positive side and not on the negative side, then it will not be a long-term Bitcoin plan for them. There are many who believe that Bitcoin is based only on price growth but they panic when the market drops by half. We have already seen that the Bitcoin market has dropped by more than half from the highest ATH, which many panicked and sold Bitcoin at a loss. But those who have enough confidence and have enough knowledge about the market and have a mindset for long-term investment never sell. Rather, the market may fall, but they should not be excited about it and sell it without considering the negative side, but it is most important to hold it patiently. The reason for holding Bitcoin for a long time is to create an asset in the future and make a lot of profit from it, that is why holding Bitcoin is important.
Different people have their various reasons why they hold Bitcoin. Some might hold it for their kids, as you said, but the most general reason people hold Bitcoin, for the long term at least, is to make a profit.
That reason alone is enough to understand why you shouldn't sell BTC. Furthermore, we are currently in a market period where the price of BTC is at half or almost half of its last all-time high (ATH). Historically speaking, the next ATH has the potential to be much more lucrative and offer better returns. Considering this potential scenario is fundamental to determining that it's not a good time to sell BTC.
Investing consists of taking capital, placing it into a solid asset, monitoring it, and letting that investment mature over the long term; otherwise, it wouldn't be a true investment, and this applies directly to BTC.
Some people look for short- or medium-term gains, but that's not how proper investing works, unless you're very lucky and the price suddenly skyrockets (which is unpredictable at best). Investing in BTC requires discipline and constant strategy, whether by accumulating and buying on dips or using the dollar-cost averaging (DCA) method.
In my view, not everything can always be attributed to price, or ATH or bear market periods. If someone studies and understands Bitcoin, they will discover that the world behind it is worth much more, that despite the volatility the risk is limited, and that long-term stability is guaranteed by the spot value, which always offers opportunities for cyclical entry. Furthermore, the main factor that should prevent someone from selling their bitcoins is when they understand the true value of decentralisation.
For me there is a part of regret if you are an early buyer of bitcoin at that state because at the first place is we didnt know that the price of the bitcoin will rise up until that price imagine if the bitcoin still have the same price like that so people will not become interested, its just like the money we are willing to let go because there is no assurance with an investment. Now i started too accumulating bitcoin as I can because after couple of halving's and limited supply and if there is still a demand there is a potential value.
I think we have to look at it from perspective of that time, even though I understand the regret. Nobody knew bitcoin would reach the value it has today, if you bought bitcoin very early you were taking a huge risk because the was no guarantee that it would survive or gain mainstream attention.
They people have that are still regretting selling early because they look at today’s price and calculate what their coins would worth now. But at that time, selling for a good profit probably felt like a smart decision, that is  why I think it is better to focus on what we can do today rather than punish ourselves for what did not know years a go.
Personally, i would rather keep buying gradually and manage my risk than waste time trying to guess perfect time to buy or sell
There was a tweet from a Twitter user who regretted selling his Bitcoin too early. And perhaps he is one of the Bitcoin OG’s who once traded Bitcoin at a very low price. Greg Schoen is someone who has said that he wishes he still held onto the several thousand Bitcoin he once owned. But he can only lament his mistake for selling them too soon, where at the time he regretted selling his Bitcoin at $0.30. And he regretted it because Bitcoin subsequently rose to $8 per coin. I personally think he still feels regret today considering that Bitcoin now commands a truly fantastic price. And it seems he still can’t let it go given that he was still tweeting about it in 2022 even though he had turned that old tweet into an NFT sale by then.
The halving cycle is still a long way off. And around each halving period Bitcoin offers the potential for profit because Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and even demand for it is increasing across various sectors. Just because Bitcoin’s price has dropped slightly doesn’t mean you should sell it right away. You just need to be patient so you won’t regret it later. If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.
In all fairness most people at that time never believed BTC will get to this price today, they saw it as a way to get some quick cash which worked for them at that point. They made profit and tbh that's all that matter. In a decade BTC price might hit a million and many will also feel they did something wrong by taking profit today
Many people made such decisions at that time. But maybe they did not have a large amount of Bitcoin, so they could not come to the fore. Actually, we cannot say that the sale at that time was completely wrong. Because at that time, there was not so much faith in Bitcoin as there is now. Most people could not even imagine that Bitcoin would one day reach its current price. Some people were very clever and intelligent, which is why only they understood the importance of saving Bitcoin. But those who sold may have realized their mistake and regretted it.
It is not a sure thing that the price will increase in every halving. There is no guarantee of the value of Bitcoin. Because you can have a profit of 100%-200% in the next 5 years or a loss of 50% in 1 year. Those who are actually chasing profits probably did not make as much progress as those who started investing. Because an investor chases profits less and prioritizes his savings first. Profits may come later, but in the long run, the main objective of the investor is to save.
That's true, whenever the price of bitcoin reaches another ATH. Many are going to say that they have held it once in their lifetime but have to sell for so many reasons. And that's going to be a cycle that will continue to happen for every cycle that bitcoin goes through. Can't blame those have to sell at some point because that's the solution for their problem and it won't be too easy for them to accept that the one that they have held for so long have been increasing in value. Those who are patient enough to hold will appreciate how they've relied to their attitude towards holding.
All those that sold their bitcoin in an early stage because of the price are regretting it for not trusting in it's potential, as an investor one needs to be patience if you really want to grow, you don't need to focus on the price at all time  because Bitcoin investment is basically for a long term of four to ten years which I am sure that your entry point does not remain the same after a long period when you will be willing to sell off , bitcoin grows gradually in potential not speedily and until you are able to understand that then you will achieve your goal without panic to sell at any dip .
The long term duration should be stated clearly to be something like the four to ten years and above so that people can really know that there is no benchmark towards how long you can hold when considering the long term duration, this is because people can hold for ten years and not be in profits because no one actually knows with certain how and what ten years of their will be like, the future is still uncertain, people should buy and hold Bitcoin for long term of 4 to 10 years or more, this sounds more reasonable than saying a long term of four to ten years, the patient in holding is for as much as necessary it should be.
Even if you want to have a benchmark, it shouldn't be less than five years because the longer you hold, the more beneficial it is. This is one of the mistakes they are making when it comes to managing their portfolio, so before anyone starts investing, they should keep in mind that they will be investing for a long time, because that is the only way things can get better, because that understanding is already there from the beginning.
Those who bring people into the system should be aware that this is the reality, so they should buy and not hold for a long time, instead of holding at all. There are a lot of things they can do now to succeed, so they shouldn't even bother with purchasing.
