In my country the government has made subsidy removal on petrol, electricity and a other things I can't remember right now. Some economic reforms has being made and implemented for three years still going, and the government claims that this decisions has helped improved the country's economy by making the government save billions that were spent on subsidy and the currency gaining strength. On their part the economy has improved and better than how they met it.

I think there is a big difference between improving the government's finances and improving the economy for the citizens of a country. By removing subsidies from the citizens of a country definitely give benefit to the treasury of the government but if the people salaries and wages are still the same then how could they manage the purchasing power how could they pay there bills if the wages are still low while the expenses are high as the government remove subsidies from the citizen. If the government has money but the citizens still struggle for paying bills or other necessary things it's a shame for a government because in the end nations are made by their people.

The government never wants to do what it does to improve the people. If it really provides financial security to the people of a under developed country and helps them get all their rights properly, then the government would strengthen the economy. They would focus more on increasing production instead of printing money. They would take steps on how to remove corruption from all sections and how to make the people of the country productive. They would give more importance to people's education, knowledge acquisition, and skills that maintain their position in a competitive manner with the world. But the government actually takes some good steps to keep the people of the country busy for a few days or for some time, which ultimately does not help in the long term. There is no improvement in the quality of life of the people of the country. Most of the governments of the world cheat the people of the country with this. The government and the citizens of the country stand against each other. But if you look at the developed countries, you will understand that especially China and Russia always try to improve their own country and consider the USA or such strong countries as opponents. Who wants them to be in a better position, but in countries where the government is not developed or corrupt, it acts as a fraud and keeps the citizens hostage.
