The absolute right time to buy bitcoin is when the market is experiencing a dip which is commonly known as buying the dip, as explained many times this strategy is beneficial because buying in bulk becomes cheap compared to buying at a bullish price range. Sell your coin when the market is in a favorable range, hold for the long run and wait for the bullish season then you can successfully sell your profit.
That's not true the right time to buy bitcoin is not when the market is undergoing some dip that's absolutely telling people that they need to wait for the dip before they can start buying bitcoin.
The right time to start buying bitcoin is when you have figured out if you have some discretionary income to get started with, so you can start up immediately when your discretionary income is available, you can use the dca method to regularly be buy BTC so you don't wait for dip to buy, although you can buy more bitcoin during the dip that is if you have a better discretionary income to do that or you could also buy through your reserve funds since you are buying bitcoin in a cheap price and hold for long, and again you don't have to sell when the market is up unless you have gotten to your bitcoin over accumulation phase then you can choose to take some profit from your bitcoin holding.
It will be misleading to make people to think the right time to buy bitcoin is only during a dip. If someone has been able to figure out their discretionary income, they can start buying bitcoin using DCA strategy rather than waiting for a dip to occur in order to buy at a desired price.
With the DCA strategy they won't stress themselves by trying to time the market. Someone that is doing DCA strategy can still buy the dip if there is an extra cash that is available for them to do so, but they must not used money that is meant for their essential needs for buying the dip. The most important thing is to adopt to a strategy that best fits ones financial situation.

Having the willpower to buy Bitcoin is enough; you need to gain knowledge about it before purchasing, which will protect you from becoming unsettled. Now, let's talk about the best time to buy Bitcoin: during a downturn, when prices are generally on a downward trend. However, it is never possible to accurately predict, so now is the best time to invest. And there is no specific timeframe for holding. It completely depends on the price at which you purchased.

Knowledge is one of the things that should be given a lot of attention when you already have the intention. If you have the right knowledge, you should be able to understand the fundamentals so that, if you want to buy to hold, I don't think the price should be a problem. The best thing to do is for you to just buy, and every holder should have a plan since they already have a plan so that when to buy should not be a problem.

Quote
My advice is to have a good understanding before investing and learn in detail about chart patterns. This will enable you to stay steadfast in your long-term plans. And your expectations will be implemented.

Understanding is preferable before beginning anything, and after you get the specifics, everything else will be better. You should also have an investment attitude and know how to hold onto your investment rather than sell it. And since holding is like the easiest thing, the only thing is that we only need to learn the basics.

You are the first one here who talks about fundamentals  Smiley

Timing is the key, but not every has that kind of gut feeling on when to sell or when to buy. Yeah, you could say that sometimes it boils down on luck as there could be some in the last bull run who might have sold everything near the top of the all time high.

So others might get lucky that time and others don't. But one thing is for certain, if you wanted to be a long term hodler, then wait for at least one full cycle and see how big your investment will do. So that you will understand in the next run the possible scenario of selling at the right place at the right time.

When you say timing is the key all I could think of trading or gambling because if you are not a trader you don't have any business in timing the market. Investors Concentrate on building their portfolio gradually using the DCA method and also double up when there is a dip in the market so they don't have any business with timing.  As trader you don't only time you should also focus on high probability point of interest (POI) and then ensure to execute.

I don't agree with this. Holding Bitcoin should be the hardest thing to do. Learning of course should be the first step but it's not that hard if you dedicate your time to it. If you're very serious, a month should be enough for you to learn the basics no matter how lazy you are. Holding is another step on its own and not everyone get passed through it. How many people are comfortable with their holding when the market is bleeding? How many people see their holding even at loss because of uncertainty? Buying is actually the easiest thing to do since everyone can wake up and decide to buy but holding? You definitely need to prepare yourself for what will come to keep holding when things look dirty.

I was enjoying What you said until I came across the "learning the basics". My own question is why will someone use up to one freaking month to learn about the basics of Bitcoin before investing. It crazy tho, there's nothing hard in learning about Bitcoin, some can end understand the basics of Bitcoin within 2-3 hours. The basics we are talking about comprises of How to buy and store your Bitcoin, how to figure out your discretionary. I guess this is what a newbie needs to know at first when beginning their Bitcoin investments. Every other things like security and technical part can be learnt after someone had begin their investment.
To be  honest holding Bitcoin is the hardest, but for someone to do that, they need to be be believe in what their holdings (conviction) . If  and investors doesn't have that , they will just fall into the trap do selling at the wrong time because they believe Bitcoin might not do well.

Holding bitcoin is not an easy game, it's actually a game of the mind and if you are careful you will fall out just like the lots of investors who actually started with big goals of holding for long term. There is a reason why they say not everyone get the privilege to invest in bitcoin and even the ones that do, not everyone actually makes it to the final goals of their plans. As for the basics it shouldn't a big deal to learn but that also depends on the seriousness of the person.

There is a big difference between just holding it in a wallet and holding it for the long term based on one's ability. If a Bitcoiner gains basic knowledge, he may learn to hold his Bitcoin in a short time, but if he does not have income and investment ability, he will not be able to hold bitcoin for the long term. Another important point is that just holding Bitcoin is not enough, it must be held for a certain period of time. Especially those who try to profit by holding it for the long term should try to hold it for at least 4 to 10 years. Holding Bitcoin is not an easy task because due to its high volatility, many investors fail to control their emotions. Weak hands are never able to hold Bitcoin for the long term.

The 3hrs your mentioned is even too much for the acquisition of basic knowledge...No matter how dull an individual is, at top he/she should be able to understand this basic understanding in about 30mins or even less...The truth is that even if you spend 5days learning this basics you may still struggle when you begin to implement them..But when you learn through repeatedly experiencing that thing-- I.e learn by practicing and repeating that process over and over again, you will find it more easier to assimilate that which you intend to learn...The bine of contention here is that folks shouldn't come up with any sort of excuse that could delay them from Kickstarting their accumulation journey..

I’m still a beginner in Bitcoin and trying to understand how people make their decisions
How do you decide when it’s the right time to buy, hold, or sell Bitcoin? Do you mainly look at the price and charts, or are there other things you consider before making a decision?
The best way to buy is to possibly acquire it when you have spare money and enough budget for it and not to be looking at a chart to decide who those are who are interested in trading Bitcoin and not buying and holding it, and the time to sell should be when there is a need for the money and not when the market is shaking, or you can set a price target of when you want to sell; each time it reaches the target, you can sell.

You are right accumulate Bitcoin when you have money you can afford to loss, it's the best way to get started with your investment. Looking at chart all the time isn't what a long time investor should be doing rather they should put more attention in consistently accumulating Bitcoin, the best time to sell should be accumulating and holding for long and probably after you have reached your over accumulation target then there is every need to take profit from your Bitcoin investment.

I my self looking at the current situation including the things that can affect prices related to life in various countries, especially economic conditions in several countries that are closely related to crypto/Bitcoin.
Not only that, we have to know the characteristics of bitcoin itself, also related to the price graph movement in the market.. this is more suitable for the long term, well I think it's never too late for the current price movement.

Not really. As an investor, you want to prioritize profits as you put your money into it. Even if you are a long term investor, you probably want to maximize your investments.

Imagine you bought at a time where everyone wants to buy at that time, bitcoin just doubled it's all time high but you just bought and forget about it with the mindset that you will just wait for another 4 years and wait for the profit to come. You don't want to earn at less than your expected profit for over the course of four years right?

This is why we do smart investing, for me doing a DCA on bitcoin is the base line of strategic investing. It is the easiest strategy and stress free way to accumulate bitcoin over the years. This way, you don't need to strictly check the prices if you are a beginner at investing, you just need to be consistent on buying.

Here, different people decide to increase their Bitcoin accumulation from different perspectives. Some decide to buy or sell. How a person decides depends on the knowledge and experience of an investor. You may be scared to stop accumulation or sell when you see a temporary market bearish or dip, but an experienced investor can increase the purchase at that time with a long-term plan.

So in my opinion, after investing in Bitcoin, you should continue to buy regularly every week or month without looking at the chart again and again. No matter how much the market rises and falls. Because it is possible to build a large investment asset for the future by following a regular investment strategy with discipline.

You definitely need to prepare yourself for what will come to keep holding when things look dirty.

I have to agree with you here. Buying is easy. Anybody can press a button on an exchange and have bitcoin in their wallet mins later. The challenge is in holding when the market drops 50% and all the media says bitcoin is dead.

Holding is emotional. Seeing your money on a screen which you worked hard for shrink so rapidly induces physical stress. Panic is what causes even the smartest investors to make dumb decisions. Thats why many people tend to buy at the high and sell at the low.

Some people believe the right time to buy bitcoin is during the dip but for me there's no right time to buy bitcoin, as a long term investor you can buy bitcoin anytime you have discretionary income, you can hold your bitcoin for at least four years, and after holding it for four years if you are okay with the profit you see in your bitcoin portfolio you are free to sell it. I don't look out price and chart if I want to buy bitcoin because I'm not a short term investor.
DCA approach to Bitcoin buying is the most suitable approach for a beginner who is just new to Bitcoin, that way they have two advantages in their process and progress in Bitcoin accumulation.

DCA will allow you as newbie to put in only your discretionary income that you will want to put away for a long time without pressure, and secondly you have the ability to learn the fundamentals of Bitcoin as knowledge based level.

The dca strategy is not only suitable for beginners it's also suitable to old bitconer, the dca strategy is one the best strategy when buying bitcoin, it has several advantages although it is mostly recommended to newbies to use the dca strategy when buying bitcoin, since they can buy when ever they have discretionary income and they don't need much money to start buying with the dca strategy and with this strategy they won't be waiting for any particular price to buy because they are buying consistently and persistently with the dca method.

The only people that can time the market are those that are real traders. Investors should have no business with the market or where the direction of Bitcoin is heading to. To make money from the market, you must understand when to buy, when to sell and when to wait before rushing to buy. Those that have been trading for a very long time would understand that importance of making appropriate decisions that will help maximize profits. Those that are using the DCA strategy should focus on how to accumulate Bitcoin and they have no business with a trader that is analyzing the market to make profit.

And since holding is like the easiest thing, the only thing is that we only need to learn the basics.

I agree. Why would anybody think that holding Bitcoin is easy? Learning about Bitcoin is not difficult. It's easy to know about the basics, but the challenges come when it's time to hold. You have to keep your device safe. You have to keep your seed phrase safe. In some cases, you even have to make sure a lot of people don't know about the Bitcoin and the amount you're holding. Then there is the issue of not falling into the temptation to sell your Bitcoin to solve problems. There may be times you need money, and you will need to discipline yourself unless completely necessary. There is even the emotional roller coaster when the price takes a massive dip or when you get massive profit. Holding is not easier, certainly not easier than learning Bitcoin.

One thing we will eventually accept is the fact that just a few investors are actually serious with how they go about their investment. many are too eager to see a fast return in their investment and that has led them to think of any smart way possible that they can use in either buying the DIP or timing the market so they can buy the DIP and be at a good profit point.

Ideally, an investor that is accumulating his bitcoin should strategies on modalities that will give him a good accumulation routine. in following up such, some investors have been found trying to gamble with their asset and when they get it all wrong, it sometimes even destroy the little one they have succeeded in accumulating.
