Trust wallet now offers prediction market

This has been there for a long time, maybe you are just learning about it now. I first saw it earlier this year but I have not given it a try. They had some crazy events like those relating to the war in Iran, the war in Ukraine and some other geopolitical events which are not my interest, maybe that should be the reason I did not pay much attention to them.

The right board for this should be gambling discussion since prediction market is just like gambling.

This is my first time of knowing that Trust wallet now offers prediction market to it users maybe it's because I don't make use of Trust wallet any more that's the reason I am just getting to know about it now but I am not surprised that prediction market is being added to Trust wallet because as the new trend that a lot of people are gradually adopting any platform that has what it takes to add prediction market to its platform, I will gladly do that just to join the trend and make money, I even heard that exchanges offers prediction market now.

I haven’t accessed Trust Wallet for a long time, but I was surprised that the crypto wallet has a prediction market feature in their app. I’m not sure whether this is a good innovation or not, but it seems that Trust Wallet is trying to profit from the recent popularity of prediction markets.
Previously, there were discussions about sports betting sites and centralized exchanges that also offered prediction markets. Now, crypto wallets also provide prediction markets.

Trust wallet acted as an aggregator only, and they're not building native prediction market on their platform. They're only taking the data from Kalshi, which is already fully compliance with US regulations. So they won't face a problem because of this. I think most of wallets are also doing so.

While I don’t think it’s actually a big problem is that we have decentralized platforms following similar pattern but the major concern for users are is that this wasn’t the direction of trust wallet, they were actually built as a self custodial wallet so doing so much like this as a wallet is now a major reg flag. Personally I will advice most people or users to actually treat it as an exchange and avoid it as a self custodial wallet. Even if one actually wants an hot wallet it’s advisable they go for others.

Ever since Trust wallet affiliation with Binance I think they simply lost their value or direction.

This is the trend now: casinos have integrated it, exchanges follow, and then wallets do the same. They all just follow the money; exchanges and wallets know a big part of their users are traders, gamblers, and investors, and a big part engages in prediction markets, so why not offer them?

I have tried, or have even looked at, prediction markets on my Trust Wallet; I prefer to place my bets on a dedicated prediction platform like Kalshi and use my wallet as asset storage, because that's what they are intended for.

I rarely check the Trust Wallet app anymore since I don't use it, but I just opened the app on my phone and saw that they really do offer a prediction market directly in their app. Maybe for people who usually bet on prediction markets, this could make things easier because they can place bets on an event right from the app.. but for someone like me who doesn't bet on prediction markets, this feature is just so-so, nothing really interesting about it.

As far as I know, they are just aggregators of prediction markets.. so, their goal is not to compete, but merely to act as intermediaries who collect and present events from various prediction platforms CMIIW.

If they're just taking from other sites (Polymarket etc.) then it's not really fighting for users but a useful display for people that already have money in Trust Wallet and don't want to move to another site. It makes sense as an extra feature, but not a new market itself. Thank you for explaining, that does change the way I'm thinking.

As a matter of fact, it is also educational in a way as well. With predictions like that coming up, anyone interested might be forced to do more research concerning the news that will be predicted.

Trust wallets are into a lot of things, which can get them money, staking, swapping, etc., and now we are seeing prediction markets, which are not even sounding strange to me; they just want their users to be in the app and do everything, which is not the same idea surrounding self-custody wallets.

These betting markets are only available in some countries due to regulation, so check whether it is allowed in your country before you get into it. Thanks for bringing this to light, will be interesting to watch as these platforms compete with others like Polymarket/Kalshi in this world.

In countries where prediction markets are not available but the use of crypto is legal, those citizens are going to take advantage of this trust wallet option since everything is handled inside the wallet and there's no external domain that’s going to be blocked by them or asking users to verify their identity before usage.

I guess its business. And business is business, more features = more users stay inside the app, otherwise it is fair argument, bro that sounds little opposite to core idea of "just hold your own keys, nothing attached" if you are building your own personal control wallet, and want them to group with betting market. Yes law avoidance angle is fact as well, no ID check+no single site to block means people in banned nations can just use it quietly through wallet. But kind of unclear area, government finally finds things like this and goes after wallet itself other than just blocking website.

It seems that in the future we will see all websites related to crypto, it will be a prediction market in general, for now crypto exchanges have included a prediction market feature, now it's Trust Wallet's turn to play the same role.

It seems that in the future people will no longer bother betting on events that will occur such as politics, crypto, sports and so on on a special website for prediction markets, people can easily access and bet on websites such as Trust Wallet.

Was just trying to explore my trust wallet this morning when it suddenly came to my attention that, trust wallet now offers prediction on not just crypto but several other happenings including sports predictions, political news and so on and it seems they all started it this year which I don't know if it's a good move or not but it seems people are really going into it as the figures I see been stakes runs in millions so I had to bring it to the attention of the community for those who might be interested but not aware and I want to know your take on it.


I also need a little explanation on how it works because there is a prediction I saw that seems there wouldn't be any loss wether you choose yes or no and if that's the case then it's a good option to try

Well it has token swaps, staking and perpetual futures as well, so it doesn't really surprise me. Before someone asks how gambling is any part of this, let me stop you and remind that this is not gambling. Not technically anyway, so they don't need more licenses for this.

They want to offer easy entry to anyone interested about prediction markets, and it wouldn't make sense for them to just let other non-custodial wallets to sweep these customers from them.

Most of us that are into crypto have used the trust wallet at some point before we left it for good, I’m still surprised that people are still using it when we have better wallet that are open source code,

I believe people have their various reasons for doing so but personally I wouldn't even try it, not when their are thousands and one of wallets that I can easily fit in while I go to bed.

They're Just trying to kill two bird's with a single stone and that is just too smart of them. But I don't think is completely their fault,  people are still gambling freely, so I see nothing wrong with it.

In as much as the crypto used in gambling is contributing to more adoption, i would prefer an exchange should remain as an exchange and prediction market should remain prediction market.

Mate, this is just your own personal opinion. But one reality you most know is that people are thinking out of the box by the day, trying to figure out how they can add up an additional source of income to the one they already have.  Maybe this is just another way the trust wallet team has came up with in adding more dollars to their pockets.

A ridiculous development indeed because some may find it interesting to do while some me not really see it and suffering necessity to have prediction market on a wallet, this shows that even the crypto users that are found of having their assets on trust wallet may still have the opportunity of gambling their coins on prediction market, which place is more risk and try to generate more traffic on those that will be playing prediction market by the virtue of the platform it is being advertised.

Trust wallet is nothing different from binance exchange and because of that interrelationships between the two, it clear now that whatever is offered by the exchange can easily pass through trust wallet, this is the reason why the wallet is centralized as much as possible and we can see that from this offer of predictions market in the app, I have being receiving various notifications about lounch of predictions market within their market lately., everyone is flowing where the money is, predictions market is the new hype.

I also thought at first that Trust Wallet had launched its own sportsbook and prediction platform, lol. But in fact it is little different. Trust Wallet is basically acting as interface here.

They only show markets of external prediction market provider like Polymarket, Predict.fun in their Prediction tab. So, market, pricing and final resolution are not done by Trust Wallet itself.

So your question is, can losses be avoided with both Yes and No?
In theory, yes, if share of both party in same market can be bought at price that keep the total cost below $1. Because winning side ultimately gets $1, and losing side $0.

Predict market is not new on Trustwallet

It's not new to us anymore (even though I didn't notice this until like a month ago) that these platforms have now adopted the prediction markets. I saw a similar thread about CEX like Gate.io, Crypto.com and others  including prediction markets as part of their offer, but for a non-custodial wallet, this is bizarre.

With what I thought about the wallet at the time, I do not see a good reason it should be called a wallet and it is close source which make it not advisable to us.

The risk involved is not worth it. Now that they are about to have more traffic due to new update, security flaws will eventually show up.

And also I wonder how they manges to integrate the prediction market because playstore have strict policies regarding gambling, so they can't list trust wallet if it has gambling related components and also how this works when users from regions where prediction market is banned?

I would say that this feature is not new and that at least months ago they integrated it in Trust wallet, but I just entered the app and what is certain is that the interface has changed.

In my country it is apparently restricted, and when I entered the corresponding section I got a warning message and simply the option "Agree" and a link to a link to countries where it is not allowed, which curiously leads to a 404 error "this page does not exist".

There was a thread posted on this board few days ago that was asking between crypto exchange and crypto casino, which is suitable to launch a prediction market on it, never did i knew that a crypto wallet will also join in the race of also laucnhing a prediction market on its platform also. But however, i'm very happy to this feature been launched on Trust wallet, because at least its users will no longer have to withdraw crypto from it to deposit on a prediction market website like Kalshi and Polymarket.  And secondly, with the way every cryto sector is rushing to launch a prediction market, i won't be surprised ifin the next few months it becomes over saturated just like the number of crypto casinos we have today, and also an avenue for scams. So i just think people just need to be very vigilant and careful with platforms that are newly launching prediction markets.

What do you expect when Trust wallet have lost their trust from users using their wallet. They're looking for every means to make more money and bring more customers to use their wallet. I am surprised that a wallet is having prediction market in it.

I started my crypto journey with Trust wallet as a newbie but along the line, I dumped it after I noticed that it's a closed source and saw how bad the wallet is.

This is just my first time too to see that such thing existence in trust wallet though i haven't used trust wallet before that's why i wasn't able to noticed it, well people should be careful when using such wallet some one with less experience could be scam. For bettors i believe there are several predictions platform where they could get some better football predictions tips , trust wallet should only base on cryptocurrency transactions and forgot about gambling predictions.
