Trust wallet now offers prediction market

This has been there for a long time, maybe you are just learning about it now. I first saw it earlier this year but I have not given it a try. They had some crazy events like those relating to the war in Iran, the war in Ukraine and some other geopolitical events which are not my interest, maybe that should be the reason I did not pay much attention to them.

The right board for this should be gambling discussion since prediction market is just like gambling.

This is not bad . Well I also , I’m just finding out now because it has been a while made use of trust wallet.  Then it was one of my favorite, still like but don’t use it anymore . I’m sure with such features being available on trust wallet , even more folks will start making use of it just to participate in the prediction market. TBH, I don’t really understand how these predictions market works but I do understand the concept of prediction market.

I have also recently discovered that Binance has the same thing and named a whole section inside their App or web platform for prediction market and there are thousands of people putting money inside.
I don’t see it as a bad thing and knowing that people can do anything with crypto so if they withdraw money from Trustwallet into other prediction platforms then also Trust wallet can do it itself to make profit and in the other side the user will stay safe avoiding him to fall for scam platforms.

Gambling is all over the world and more countries are allowing it after seeing the growth in this industry. There’s no harm if wallet platforms are also investing in prediction markets.

It’s practically like a betting market—a wallet offering crypto price predictions and sports betting predictions.
If you want to gamble, a wallet isn’t the place—it’s a casino or some other gambling venue. A wallet’s function is to store assets, not to make predictions. Whatever kind of prediction it is, that’s not what it’s for.
From this, you should realize that Trust Wallet is trying to attract users by offering those ridiculous predictions. Would you say that wallet is any good as a storage wallet?

As long as they have good security for me, other things on the wallet is not going to matter a lot, I could take it as a innovation putting other things on the wallet I guess, It might be for attracting more users.

This changes there wallet since they are already putting a lot of things on the wallet itself, it depends on the users if they are going to like it or not, some wouldn't like a lot of things included on the wallet but there will also be some that is going to take this as a some sort of innovation something like that and would probably like that the wallet is doing it's thing.

I just checked the prediction market on the smartphone, it seems to have a lot of prediction categories. I wasn't sure how to join since clicking is not working. I can't find the button to join, or maybe there should be a balance needed for this.  I've seen the Yes or No thing, but wasn't seems to be some kind of gambling right now maybe it was still in testing.

I believe it makes sense for Binance and other exchanges to have a dedicated section on their platforms, so people can bet on prediction markets, people already partake in gambling on Binance by going straight to the future market and use extremely leveraged positions, with the hope of turning a handful of dollars into thousands of dollars.

Though, I believe it is different having a wallet to push prediction markets to their clients. I get prediction markets have become very popular lately, but we also need to be aware that there could be children who may have downloaded that wallet in order to get into Bitcoin and Ethereum at young age, and could find themselves getting addicted to betting on those markets...

This may be new to some but I have seen this news and the event before because I am a regular Trust Wallet user. I deposit my Bitcoin in Trust Wallet. However, their event may have gained popularity among people because many people use Trust Wallet and can participate in this prediction from there. Thanks for this, I was not aware that there are a lot of platforms and wallets that have integrated prediction market in their services although I just heard just a couple of them like exchanges. So it means that there are no stopping prediction market although there are a lot of countries that are against it.

Nevertheless, if depends on what services has prediction market in general. As for Trust wallet, there has been a lot of issues raised by community members throughout the year that it was embedded that we might not to "trust" this wallet service.

Trust Wallet itself does not take bets on the opposite side of this prediction market. They allow platforms like Polymarket and Hyperliquid to use it from within the wallet. And it is not that both Yes and No will make a profit. The prediction market basically works like a zero sum game. If you bet money on Yes and at the end of the day the event does not happen, then your entire investment will be zero. That is, if it is correct, the share settles at $1, if it is wrong $0. However if you put money into a betting market without fully understanding it, the chances of a bigger catch are higher than the profit.

I'm surprised you were surprised that Trust Wallet added prediction market feature to their system. Haven't you noticed that, though, the wallet is noncustodial, but has turned it into a market hub for years? This addition is not surprising because they already built their app around such sophistication, and I believe more is coming.

However, you are wrong that they started this prediction market with only crypto, no. Just like others in the niche, they dumbed the crypto, politics, sports, and other real-world events at once. And personally, I think I sense Trump's finger in this. His linked dealings with Binance started around March 2025, and the prediction surfaced in the same year. Something is fishy.

Honestly when I think how the prediction market is going extra strongly regulated these day's due to the high increase in adoption, it of course get to the extent of being curious about how self custodial wallets would cope with the regulatory situations.
There in the trust wallet user's are in control of their private keys and full control of their funds with no Kyc required to when generating wallet address. So I'm wondering how regulations can be effective about it.
I bet if the wallet developers is deemed to compromise the security feature of their brands, they're definitely going to loose lot of user's who basically uses the brand because it was formally non custodial which caught their interest to use it in the first place.
The rapid launches of the so prediction market had also been tiring with how crypto and betting platforms are involving into it.

It is very bad. Wallet should be a place to keep your coins, not a place to gamble. Trust wallet also have where you can trade cryptocurrencies like up to 5x or so I think. All these should not be on a noncustodial wallet.

TBH, I don’t really understand how these predictions market works but I do understand the concept of prediction market.

It is not hard at all, it is just about betting but called it is called contracts. If you visit the prediction market on one of the exchanges that you are using or create an account on Polymarket, you will easily understand how it works. Like on Polymarket, you do not have to deposit money before you can enter an amount of money to bet on each markets and see the amount of money you will earn in total, although if no money is there, no bet.

Seeing as they are supposedly no longer associated with Binance it is understandable that they will want to also operate as an exchange and if an exchange wants to introduce prediction market as a service they offer then I don't see the problem with that, I'm not eager to use Trust wallet but that doesn't mean I will push for others to not use it.

They are still owned by the same person which is CZ. It is just a good practice to decouple two different business niches from each other and that's what he just did.

Also i won't call them non custodial, all of their official documents might call them that but seeing as they are not fully open source I am simply not eager to believe I control my keys with them.

Non-custodial is when you keep your keys by yourself and not trusting a third-party to do so, so Trust wallet is a non-custodial wallet, although it is closed source. Closed source is that their codebase is not open to be independently verified by the public.

What I don't know for sure is that if you import the keys of a multicoin wallet in a bitcoin-only wallet, will it work?

I think prediction markets are quickly becoming more popular, and their audience overlaps quite a lot with the crypto community. So for Trust Wallet, it’s an opportunity to make sure users don’t just store or swap crypto, but can also use it to access other financial products directly from their wallet.

On the other hand, there’s definitely a question of whether this kind of feature should even be part of a regular crypto wallet. When you’re constantly being shown markets on sports, politics, crypto prices, and other events, the wallet gradually turns from a tool for storing funds into a platform that also encourages users to risk those funds.

But the millions of dollars in volume clearly show why Trust Wallet and other companies have become interested in this area. The demand is definitely there, and if users are going to Polymarket, Kalshi, and other similar platforms anyway, wallets naturally want to get their share of this market.

What do you expect from a wallet that is launched by a business people, from beginning trust wallet was a different company until Binance bought them and it became part of Binance ecosystem. Any growth you are seeing there now is about benefits of the Binance investments unlike other open source wallet many people use only for wallet sake, there shouldn't be a mix between wallet and all this predictions but I'm sure they are going to call it adoption.

Why e en make people start this prediction markets place on wallets. What if Binance is trying to explore the prediction market but because they couldn't do it due to regulation on Binance, they now change to Trust wallet since users don't have to registers and wallet can be connected with ease, they see this as a way to make people use the prediction market, this is nothing but a pure strategy.

Actually, I am not really surprised. Ants are attracted to sugar for a reason. The prediction market must be a very lucrative venture. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be integrating it into their platforms. CEXs and Trust Wallet must have seen that they can make a lot of money from it. They all want a slice of the pie and I wonder which other platform would be next to follow suit.
