Hmm hop, it's getting horrible now for bitcoin holders, crime is always everywhere, when you show off bitcoin assets on other people or on social media it invites robbers to your house, it could be that they are planning a murder like this case.

Could it be that the crime rate in Mexico is high? I have read that a pregnant woman and her child were murdered. Cry
I don't want this to happen again even though I know that no one knows what other people plan for us, but the anticipation is much better, however the privacy depends on us doing it ourselves.

Keep quiet about your bitcoin, keep quiet about your wealth, don't be lousy, don't be the show-up type, but privacy is not truly protected in this time and age of the world. Appearing at a blockchain-related conference wearing a limited-edition Breguet Marie Antoinette wristwatch tells the audience how financially loaded you are, and they suddenly suspect you hold millions in bitcoin/crypto.

Wrench attacks are becoming more famous these days. You can also be quiet about your holdings. Let your tax report sell you off to your targets. Good thing they have caught two suspects linked to the incidents, one of is said to be the victim's business associates. Stay vigilant and stay guided. The world is a cruel place.

People don't miss to amaze me because I don't know why but Bitcoin and comes to the internet and tell people that they have Bitcoin. It's not safe out there to share such information with people, they can harm you if they know and your location. I read somewhere about how a person have Bitcoin and was attack in his house and the worst about the attack is they couldn't find the Bitcoin and the man was killed in the process, after investigating the killers were found.

If you have Bitcoin and you want to influence people about it, you can tell them about Bitcoin and how it changes life but don't make your self the center of attention. There are many ways to make people buy Bitcoin because you want them to buy and not let yourself be the main guy, it can put you in a harm way especially if people don't like you knows about it.

It's not always easy to hide wealth, someone close to you will know your worth even if you are quite, a neighbor or relatives might set you up for this kind of attack, the instruction maybe to take your Bitcoin and never kill, but the victim might want to self defense and then result to something that wasn't part of the plan.

Self defense might be the cause of these Bitcoiner's death, it's be painful to see your coin leaving your wallet because attacker will withdraw the coin before victim's death,

That's so painful news, it's painful.

The more crimes of this kind are committed, people who are malicious and want to take Bitcoin out of the hands of a Bitcoin holder will continue to monitor where they are going to travel.
Usually, influencers with a lot of followers and publicly known Bitcoin holders will be targeted.

Maintain privacy or at least don't share a main address that contains a lot of assets like Bitcoin,
because it's easy for bad people to commit crimes in any way, including mental intimidation and murder.

In my country there are even many criminal cases involving Bitcoin assets from foreign tourists,
they are already targeting them and seeing if there will be an opportunity to start the action.

Now stay vigilant and don't underestimate anything if people already know you have a lot of Bitcoin.
This will be an early warning so that unexpected things do not happen and stay safe.

Just merely having some things people struggle to get makes you a loving target but however you can be out of reach based on how you protect yourself by guiding the information you put out in terms of wealth or how rich you are whether in bitcoin or crypto at large or general assets, the world is cruel so you don’t expect people to be as good as you are.

Perhaps people who talk more about their assets on media are mostly on a business mission to sell their personality to people who will believe them to get their desired audience so if you want to follow such steps without having business models like them then you are prone to attacks. So be guided about what you put out, total privacy may not exist but to an extent you can protect yourself.

Why do I have to worry myself using peer to peer for my Bitcoin transaction?
People are even storing their Bitcoin on Binance and Coinbase and they always have access to it.
I don't need to live a privacy live as a bitcoin holder, bitcoin is more popular today and every knows about it.
Why hide?
People are too naive because of social media brainwashing these days. To start with there are some absurd kinda amount of money that the said social media has made people think literally every one has lying in their bank account so they speak like it should be normal thing to let people know.

To add to that people barely care about privacy and will go through rigorous KYC for the smallest of things not even worth it especially if bonuses are involved. Social media has made it difficult for most people to keep shut.

This one thing I don’t see my self doing telling folks about my assets or even posting about it on social media , like the way most influencers do just to gain engagement. This is why privacy plays a vital role here in this space , because any slight mistake can go further in endangering one’s lives . Same reason many do avoid going to public casinos , it sometimes goes against privacy because there usually other folks there buying ticket and placing their bets . Even keeping the screen short of your asset in your gallery is not safe either some one can see it , and you may  endup targeted .

This is the most disturbing wrench attack I have seen on the internet. It’s insane the lengths people will go for money. Nowadays, simply hodling your coins in a non-custodial wallet isn’t enough. You have got to be careful about who you tell about your crypto investments. I don’t know how the bitcoin family have been able to manage this long without being attacked despite the world knowing who they are. It’s something I wouldn’t recommend.

They were killed by robbers that had bitcoin?
No, the robbers believe the victims had millions of dollars worth of bitcoins sitting in a wallet, and killed the entire family for it.

This is not really something new, a lot have fall victims and become target of killing because they don't exercise proper privacy and 24/7 security. Overconfidence is good, but its always bad for bitcoin because you are putting yourself in a dangerous situation. The whole world have already known about bitcoin, its expensive value and the associated riches and wealth that people gained from bitcoin, so you can't stop the bad guys around from eyeing people who are silent bitcoin holders.

The best thing you can do is just never expose yourself as a bitcoin investor, and get rid of social media where people advertise their bitcoin. Bitcoin requires privacy so you protect yourself from all the bad guys around.

Some people are trying to feel big on social media that’s why they end up displaying their assets on social media, and they don’t even think about the risk involved in it. After displaying your assets on social media, you might end up being attacked and injured, some people are even getting killed, so why will you have to make your assets public when you already know things that are likely going to happen.

If you are looking for engagement, then you should do other things which is not going to endanger your life, what if you end up getting the engagement which you need, and something bad happens to you. Seriously we should always think before doing something’s, don’t cause problem for yourself just because you are looking for fame. In life we should always try to stay low-key, you don’t have to show people that you have money, because most of the people you showing might not even be happy with you.

I have come to realize that a few years back when I was starting, there's a point of time that I have posted some charts and of course Bitcoin too. I think way back at that time, there was not that much interest at all with Bitcoin.

People don't understand what it is, that it is money and something valuable in the future. With those news about these attacks, killings and kidnappings. I have stopped sharing anything about it.

While being active in the forum, there's anonymity and that's why let those social media influencers do their thing. However, we're not going to do what they do.

This is not just for bitcoin alone, even those who are saving millions and billions of fiat, they can get killed if they continue to flaunt their wealth to the public. Aside from having high privacy, one should live lowkey too so that the people around won't suspect you that you are keeping wealth in your wallet or in the bank. Prevention is better than cure, what's the worth of your money or bitcoin if the criminals have already put an end to your life.

Privacy should be dealt seriously. If not for yourself, at least for the people around you that could also put their lives in danger.

Holding bitcoin can make you rich in the long run, but it also comes with threat and danger especially if you are new to privacy and high security. Don't be too proud and show to the people that you are holding bitcoin, but instead save it for yourself. People don't deserve to know whatever hidden wealth you have, be it bitcoin or fiat, or else your life and your future will be at stake.

Invest in bitcoin and never stop holding, but do it secretly. Live like you are struggling with your life, and live lowkey. Celebrate your bitcoin, but never celebrate it with the people that you aren't sure of their intention to you.

Yeah it's a powerful message though, it is good to keep your mouth shut in whatever you do, not just only about Bitcoin holding but Im any asset and fund you have, privacy is very important, what I learnt from this discussion is that security does not only end in having your Bitcoin in a self custody but it also implies that your mouth is also a security tool that may attract evil people around you. Emagine having 100 Bitcoin in a non custodial wallet with a seed phrase kept safe without anyone knowing, and you somehow told a close friend that you have such amount of bitcoin in a wallet, then you've obviously exposed yourself and you may be killed If that friend is a bad one. That's why we need to also keep our mouth shut and not only about our seed phrase security.

Why do bitcoin thieves or criminals spot someone who loves and talks about bitcoin, and then just assumes that such a person is very rich and wealthy. Could it be from the way the bitcoiner carries himself? We really need to understand how these bad guys feel about us and the things we do differently that attract them to us.

Already I know that one of the easiest ways to draw their attention is by making your bitcoin identity public, letting everyone know that you invest in bitcoin, or that you trade or mine bitcoins. Apart from this, what else? Because I know that some persons who keep a very low profile are also being targeted.

I will advice every bitcoiner to know who they trust. Sometimes the worst enemies are not far away from you; they are your friends, neighbours and members of your household.

It is getting scarier, but do the little you can do to protect your privacy and true identity online. I look forward to the day KYC will successfully be defeated.

I read people saying it's not a new story, it may not be untrue but it's not about the story to me, it's about how this keeps happening after another. Is it that news like this doesn't go viral for fellow bitcoiners to see and learn from it to avoid sharing certain personal information in public or talking about their wealth and financial successes ito people regardless of how close they are. Because people can really get jealous and frustrated knowing about how you succeeding and stacking assets to your name while in their own life things are just going bad despite how much they're trying.

I just want to express my condolences to that one family that they had to go through such a tragic fate. No one wants to suffer like that, nor did they realize that the person they trusted was the perpetrator of the attack.
But this also serves as an important lesson on why keeping your Bitcoin private is so necessary, especially when you live in a place with higher crime rates. You can't expect everyone to have good intentions when they know you own a significant amount of Bitcoin. Whoever it is, you need to be aware that they could potentially take advantage of your carelessness and attack you whenever they want.

Every data leaks in the hands of centralised entities are a huge risk to your live.
Getting killed for your Bitcoin has nothing to do with you been a very good person.

Just because you don't talk evil about others and you don't do evil to others doesn't mean there are no evil people who do it for a living, they watch while you get too comfortable, every words, every information you shared online, every crypto conversation you had with people in public place, your neighbour etc..  someone might be watching.

Practice OPsec and keep quiet 🤐 🤐 🤐 🤐 about your Bitcoin.
Situations like this are always repeated but indeed some of us or maybe even most of us must be prepared to risk it for life while in bitcoin. This is not just about crime rates starting to rise but our past or current behavior that is still inviting just for the sake of exposure and recognition.

Because for now we must be aware that some people (who we don't even know) will recognize us when we are too show off with what we have in bitcoin which indirectly this can invite more attention for people who want to do less good actions especially for crime problems.
So in this case I think we should be more aware not only about how we store the assets we have but how we remain humble and do not make bitcoin as a tool that must always be on display at all times just because of this exposure.

People nowadays wanted to become popular and reason they keep flexing their money on the internet and there are a lot of eyes nowadays even you didn't make an interaction with them there are people get envy what do you have they wanted to take it from you and now imagine life taken instantly and stole their crypto assets.
This is the reason why being stay vigilant and lowkey in the internet make sure no one knows what you have or what you wanted this will prevent to you get vulnerable with these attacks.

This is a very bad news and it is worrying. There was a discussion on the gambling board recently where I saw some users posted that people do not go for KYC because they are trying to evade tax, but this is not just true for everyone. Some people just want privacy is the reason they do not like KYC.

But I do not know what actually happened. Some people can reveal the coins through their talk or on social media. We have seen that happened before.
I have already heard about this kind of news before where telegram accused the France tax officials of leaking users information to scammers and kidnappers of people that are holding millions in cryptocurrency and their location.
We need to be very careful about how we brag about Bitcoin since their could be people that are ready to do anything to make money and they can link kidnappers that can do harm to us if they are unable to get what they want. Their are so many stories about people being killed due to their Bitcoin holdings. It is our duty to keep and protect ourselves from people from knowing if we have Bitcoin or not.
