Unfortunately, that is indeed the case, I have often observed casinos dragging out the withdrawal process using all sorts of pretexts many of them contrived. I think this has become something of a norm in modern online gambling perhaps their finance departments decided to adopt this tactic to keep funds in players' accounts for as long as possible. The goal is likely to make the player anxious hoping they will eventually resign themselves to not getting the money, wager it instead, and ultimately lose it all. I honestly don't know how this could be fixed; the only option is patience simply waiting for the withdrawal to go through.

Not to mention, there are some gambling platforms that tend to enforce rules that were not previously stipulated as a pre-condition for their withdrawals. For example, there was a casino that I used to gamble where they advertise themselves as "free withdrawal and bonus deposits." However upon withdrawing my funds after a win, there was a message stating that I should submit KYC documents to release my funds which is subject to their discretion. These types of practices of gambling companies should be prohibited and declared illegal. If they advertise themselves as something and it turned out that they practice the contrary, then they should be exposed in order to warn us gamblers in falling victim to their fraudulent practice.

Gambling is one thing that is guided by rules and regulations especially when ever you see a casino doing a promo, I believe that before anyone will take part in a promo that a casino is bringing such a person will go through the rules guiding the promo, such as wagering and how you can withdraw your winnings. Most gamblers don't care about this and only got stuck when they are told about wagering before withdrawals, so I will not call casinos as abusive.
Gambling has rules and regulations all the licensed casinos are abiding on but that does not mean that any of these casinos can not misbehave due to the decisive power they have to freeze their users funds due to the terms that have set to guide all players using their platform. Fulfillment of the wagering requirement can be increased or reduced based on each casino terms for their players. You can make a deposit and fulfill the wagering requirement and lost everything you have deposited.

Fulfillment of the wagering requirement can be increased or reduced based on each casino terms for their players. You can make a deposit and fulfill the wagering requirement and lost everything you have deposited. Always check if you can withdraw your deposit before taking the bonus. Now if you happen to lose your deposit clearing wagering requirements that is just bad variance and you cannot blame the casino. However some have shady T&C's. Yes besides WR which everyone pays attention to, they may have limits of how much can be bet per round while having a bonus, certain games count 0% towards the WR (among others). These are the not so pretty side of online bonuses. The nastier casinos will void your winnings, even though you complied with the WR, citing some shady clause 3 pages deep in the bonus T&C's. They also have catch all clause whereby the casino (not you) decides what constitutes "bonus abuse". Whether they can change the T&C's in the middle of your WR matters more. All this stuff scares me more than the WR. Many casinos are licensed which in theory should protect you if you have issue with them BUT not all regulators are created equally, some actually take complaints seriously others not so much. Especially offshore licenses, some are good others are nothing more than a badge the operator can wear to make themselves seem legit. Be aware many casinos auto attach bonuses to deposits.

I did not know about this trick to get your money from casinos which do not seem to be willing to allow a withdrawal to be carried out. I suppose there much he something serious when comes to account closure and termination of service, so they cannot use their own requirements in order to withhold your money, they are simply forced to comply with your requirement.
Fortunately, I have never been in such situation in which I would need a casino to close my account just in order to have access to my balance.
Thanks for sharing, though.
I might be wrong but I'm thinking maybe op's withdrawal would have been processed even without closing his account, perhaps the transaction was successful because it was fixed at the same time he decided to close his account, it could have been a coincidence. On the other hand if the casino only responded because of the request to close his account and the complaints he made the their credibility is questionable. This is why it's important to do proper research on a casino before making a deposit in order to avoid such issues.

I totally get the first part, requesting account closure because some of these gambling website follow the strict responsible gambling laws but does this still works if the country has no regulators?
How did the casino get licensed if they had no regulators in the country? What gambling laws would they be following? As long as the casino is licensed, then there is a regulatory body in the country. The question now will be how effective the regulators are. In any country where gambling is legal, there are regulators. If the regulators are effective, then this trick will work, but if they are not, the casino already knows this and knows nothing will happen to them even if you go ahead with your threat and CC the regulatory body, so they still might not do the needful. Only countries where gambling is illegal have no regulators because there is no need for them.

Well, as far as I see in this thread. This was not a problem about a withdrawals, but rather about the fact he wanted to close his account and the casino did not let him to do so immediately. That is why he decided to say he was a minor... He probably already had his account emptied. By the way, I agree with you, we all are supposed to read the terms of service of casinos in order we know we would be able to close our accounts without having to opt to those tricks, like the ones used by OP.

Wow, what you’re saying makes sense, too, bro. As a gambler, I’ve also often encountered withdrawal issues like that, and reading your opinion, it’s true that casinos try to keep gamblers there with money in their accounts. If, for example, a withdrawal is processed easily, that means the casino loses that money, and there’s no guarantee the gambler will come back to play there. I’m a bit at a loss as to how to handle this issue myself. Personally, I always try to contact customer service so that my withdrawal can be processed as quickly as possible.

Yes without a doubt to keep the money in the accounts as long as possible I have a feeling they just bank all that money and even might give out loans to make interest on all the money in the players accounts but that is pure speculation and a hunch

Well, even after having a license, casino companies can change their internal regulations if they want. Because the matter is centralized. And everything centralized is one sided. In the forum, we frequently see that casinos are holding customer money and they give them lame excuses. One of them is opening multiple accounts from the same IP or using VPN. They hold customer money with such lame excuses. So no matter how many rules there are, there is still a risk factor on gambling sites. But in any case, if there is a KYC casino, I think they should be fulfilled first. That way, at least you won't be able to give this excuse during withdrawal or you can block funds for asking for documents.

I have experienced this myself. I had won quite a several times on a casino platform few days ago. I intended to withdraw the money quickly, because I knew that if I delayed, I might lose my money. When I sent a quick withdrawal request at that time, it didn't work. I was told to wait for some more time. I tried to make some more bets at that time and at some point, I lost the money. I think this happens to most gamblers. I am not claiming that they don't allow withdrawals. They allow it but it takes more time and many gamblers can lose their money during this time. I think this is a kind of common strategy of theirs.

Most of these casinos are just lazy if that's the right word to use, they know what they are supposed to be and instead of working on it they keep on procrastinating. I'm sure they wouldn't have solved your issue if you didn't talk about closing your account, this is what made process the withdrawal otherwise it would have been from one excuse to another. Most of these casinos aren't scammers but their approach to resolving issues makes them seem that way.

Yes, when a gambler cannot withdraw his money, he becomes frustrated, which results in him not being able to withdraw his money after waiting for a long time and gambling aggressively, which results in financial losses, which allows the casino to make more money. In order to be profitable, casinos always adopt various strategies so that gamblers fall into traps and gamble aggressively, which ultimately results in financial losses, due to which casinos stop the process of withdrawing money from gamblers for a long time, giving various excuse.

You know it's in human psychology to need chaos before resolving issues, and telling casino to close down account is a form of creating chaos and tensional fear in them of loosing a customer, they never want to loose a loyal customer at all. So the pressure of loosing a user who constantly gamble is a threat to their operations. The way of handling customer care to solve an issue is a valid and approve option to take when facing similar things in future either with same or different casino platform.

If some casinos restrict gamblers from withdrawing their winning just because they believe they won't continue playing anymore after they have successfully withdrawn their first win, then I think gamblers shouldn't try to withdraw 50-70% of their first win so that they will have some money left in their balance which will make the casino where they won the money believe they will continue gambling even after they have withdrawn part of the first win.

I'm not sure if this will work with casinos under the Curacao or Anjuan license though which seems to be the most common here.
In my opinion situation there is bit different and risky. Previously, Curacao's Master and Sub-license system had no protection for player. Because regulator ignored complaint of players. However after introduction of new National Ordinance on Games of Chance in Curacao, all casino are now directly under Curacao Gaming Authority. Now if any Curacao casino start BS, they may have some reaction if they threaten to complain or CC to CGA. Because rule of player protection and responsible gaming have been made more strict than before. But still they do not take quick action like European local regulator like MGA or UKGCA.

This mail may not be of much use to you on Anjouan licensed site. afaik Anjouan is completely budget offshore license. Where there is no effective regulatory body or mechanism for player dispute resolution. Those casino don't mind CCing the regulator if they freeze your account on the pretext of AML or 1x rollover.

The purpose of this waiting is to entice you to bet again. Most gamblers probably do this and lose. Most gamblers try to win more money. I myself was a victim of this situation because I had a target of withdrawing more funds but lost most of my funds in the bet.

Well, in the end casinos live thanks to the volume of deposits, not because of the volume of withdrawals, that is just basic knowledge on how this industry works , I think. Actually, there are even more speculation on why there are casinos here on the forum which pay their signature campaigns with money on their casinos (money on the account of the participants). It is said it is done so people within the signature campaigns are prompted to gamble part of their founds back into the casino. Though, I personally believe it is rather done in order to make things easier when comes to the management of money, it is messier to manage a big number of transactions on chain than doing it in a centralized service like a traditional crypto casino, Stake is a good example of it, I think.

Yeah some casinos can be that fishy but in all as players, so many don’t keep to the casino rules because they don’t even know the rules to begin with and when the player get stucked, they feel the casino is been abusive. There are some things we as players will do on a casino website that look to us as if we are on the right track not knowing the casino does not want that because we don’t read. Most players are only attracted to bonuses and promo without checking rules and regulations that comes with, so we can’t blame casinos all the time.
