There are special programs for clearing the clipboard. I think using them is a good idea. This can be useful when copying Bitcoin addresses. 🙋
I usually don't bother with QR codes. I just copy the address into a digital notepad, then copy it from there and paste it into my wallet. Each time, I carefully check the characters in the address. At a minimum, a few characters at the beginning of the address, a few characters at the end of the address, and a few characters in the middle.
On the other hand, perhaps these measures aren't enough... Perhaps it's better to check the entire address. Financial matters shouldn't be taken lightly. Clipper viruses are becoming more and more sophisticated.🤷

CTRL+C then CTRL+V. I guess that's how we can copy and paste on a computer right? It's a simple way that many people use to copy and paste, which is important keep checking several times to make sure the wallet is safe no changes. Don't be a victim of address poisoning. My friend is experiencing clipboard malware on his computer, rather than continue to look for ways to overcome this although with the help of AI better reinstall and never repeat again install pirated applications that could bring malware. In fact, there are many free applications out there, especially using cracks, this is what can be a computer infected with malware.

I never used clipboard data for pasting addresses, as this can be too risky for many reasons. That has already been mentioned by many members here in the same thread and in many other places too. This is why it is better to avoid this mistake. What I used to do in this matter, I don't know now if it is a better approach or not. What I do is that, rather than using clipboard data to paste at any place, I save my address in my private chat, and second, I have saved it in my Bitcointalk profile. And whenever I need my address anywhere to use, I copy it from my profile most of the time. And this is my separate public address that I use the majority of the time. By the way, what do you guys think about it? Is this a better approach or not? CMIIW! Thanks!

Sincerely I don't have to feel tired to go to my wallet and copy my wallet address whenever I need it but since my address is posted on my profile, I simply just go to my profile and copy it that's if I want to make use of it on the forum but if I want to use it outside the forum, then I must have to go to the wallet and copy my address and this is because I don't want any stories or falling victim of any scam by scammers

When making a transaction in Bitcoin, it is best to copy and paste the addresses from a wallet and check them carefully. Many times, when a wallet address is copied and later pasted for a transaction, if a letter is added or deleted by pressing the keyboard, that person will lose money. Although making a transaction in Bitcoin is an easy task, it should be done with experience and skill. Many times, skilled people lose Bitcoin by sending it to the wrong address. When sending Bitcoin to an address, sometimes money is lost due to mistakes when copying and pasting, in which case you should definitely make a transaction in Bitcoin with caution. However, it is certainly much better that if the transaction is made by scanning the QR code, there is no fear of losing money here and the transaction can be done very easily.

If you use
bc1 addresses look past that.
bc1q tcasgay4ru ............. r3akj e5ref
bc1q
skip that look at tcasgay4ru
On the back end
Look at r3akj e5ref
IT IS way too much work for bots to go as deep as I am showing.
I very much do 2 sends if the coin is going to a strange person vs a known person
Say I am paying 0.01 to an unknown
I send 0.0001 ask for the person to tell me they got it
The send 0.0099 to same address
As to where I copy and paste I use an extra step.
I see the good address. I copy it to my notes
I copy from my note to the send section on the wallet.
I check original I check the note I check the send section of the wallet.
It may seem stressful or time consuming, but I tell you, this is the best and we'll satisfactory. With the cross section verification, there will be no reason to send to the wrong address anymore. Perhaps, the receiver also have to confirm that they received it already before moving tye major transaction to the same address, and and am sure even while still sending the second time, there could still be some cross check again but not as strick as the former. I don't usually copy to my address book, and then compare the original, the copied and the wallet own, I just marely cross check where am sending to at the already pasted one and the previous that was sent to me. But I think these more steps are safer and better. It's worth the time because any mistake to the wrong address, it is gone. Checking that middle part of the address is just so important. Extra security activated😁 I think I learnt another level here. Weldon @philipma 1957

I like using the address book or whitelist feature in wallets for addresses that I send to on a regular basis. An address verified and stored will cut down on the repetitive copying and pasting. I'm still copying and pasting for new addresses but always double check the full address before confirming the transaction. Do not rely on the first few characters or the last few characters in the address as this is prone to be used in an address poisoning attack. QR codes work great as well, but not risk-free. A key point to note is that dust transactions will not compromise your wallet; the risk here is that you might click on a fake wallet address that you previously used for a different transaction. Safety is more significant than a couple of seconds.

What makes you stressed by doing that? I do it too but I don't have stress problems like you mean. Actually, if you want to be safe, it doesn't matter whether you copy-paste or scan a barcode, check your destination address correctly. Check before you confirm the transaction. Nothing is really safe when you make mistakes yourself.

Is there any whitelist method where you just copy paste it? Is there any offline methods? --- I find it stressful at times, what about you?
CTRL+C then CTRL+V. I guess that's how we can copy and paste on a computer right? Most of the investors are doing it that way, and that includes me. However, I've added this whenever I send coins where I'm checking every single character of the address to make sure that it's correct. When I say every single character, I mean every single letter and number out there, and yes, I know for some the might confuse themselves because of those uppercase and lowercase letters aside from the fact that there are some numbers out there, but it works for me, and so does for the majority who are doing it. QR codes work, but they aren't immune just like what the above post was said, so for me, looking every single character for me is the safest way. LAZY?? Trust me. Being lazy could cause you thousands and even millions so f*ck the laziness. This was one of the early lessons I learnt in the crypto space, to avoid “stories that touch” . I witnessed a friend willingly send money to a wrong address, only after he had sent it did he notice when the supposed recipient sent a message that he hasn’t received it. Since then I’ve made it an habit to always crosscheck my addresses letter by letter, laziness got nothing on me, I can even do it twice. I might even say I know some of my most frequent addresses by heart or atleast their sequence.

Smart people in the house how did you all bypass the habit of copy pasting wallet addresses?
Is there any whitelist method where you just copy paste it? Is there any offline methods?
Drop your own copy pasting strategy where dust txns won't reach?

Since when did copying and pasting a wallet address become rocket science? I just double check the wallet address, that I paste. The last several numbers and letters should match the ones on the copied address. Is it really that difficult to use your eyes and your brain? Have you ever got hacked by a malware, that changes the wallet addresses which you paste? I still remember the Greasemonkey scripts, which some scammers used to make us believe that we are going to get something for free on G2A or other marketplaces. It was the dumbest scam ever, but it worked.

It's not rocket science. Copying & pasting an address, then double or triple checking it is very easy. Everyone can do all these steps if they're careful enough for checking (either double check or triple check). The bottom line is they must maintain a good, clean and not infected device so that there is no malicious factor that can change address and steal their coins. The hardest thing is maintain a device secure and clean, while if they don't double check or triple check, if their device is clean, a copy and paste is enough but surely it's always safer to do checks.

I like to add trusted people to address book in my wallet. Rather than copying their addresses from my transactions. This decreases the risk of choosing a bogus address as a consequence of address poisoning. If it's a new recipient. I double check their address before sending and think about sending a minor amount on larger transactions. While QR codes can be useful. They're not necessarily guaranteed to be safe if the device that's displaying them is compromised. I also think wallet security is important not the only thing as clipboard malware can change the address with no apparent signs. All of these are minor details that could take a little longer. But it's typically impossible to recover Bitcoin that is sent to an address that is incorrect.

We probably don't need to be so paranoid about copying & pasting an address. As long as our device is secure and we are still verifying the address we pasted, there shouldn't be any problem. I've been doing that for years and so far haven't run into any issues because I always verify the address, especially when using Blue Wallet, there's usually an extra confirmation window we can use to double-check if the destination address is correct.

Hmmm, that's good question.....!!!! I love to express myself on such topic..... Well, it's up to you wether you used it QR Code option or just copy paste like both have the probility of Manipulation. None of them were the safe..... only you are the one who can make it safe. Like if you copy the address then verify it with deep lenses then probably no one can compromised it until you have open the door for approach..... I always told here that privacy is your first perority. If someone compromised you then definitely it will be your fault not the others (abuser). So always think before click because most of time we have our own mistakes for losing something.

You are making a simple thing unnecessarily difficult. You are usually so serious about this little copy paste thing as a crypto currency user. If you have a clipboard installed on your phone or device and if there is no hacking there, then I think there should be no problem with copy pasting. You will check your wallet address repeatedly so that you do not make a mistake when you are in a hurry. You have to remember that while copying your wallet, you do not forget to leave out a letter or two or that you do not enter a space in the wallet when you are in a hurry. If you take care of all these things, I do not think there will be any mistake and why bother during the time it takes to scan the barcode because the safest way is to scan the barcode.

I confidently always use Ctrl + C, then Ctrl + V. There is no other smart method, perhaps it is because I'm confident that I haven't been or have never been hijacked. If you are worried about sending to the wrong address, you can split the total transaction you wish to make into several batches. Example if you want to send 1 BTC: (1) Send 0.25 BTC & wait for confirmation that you have sent it to the correct address. (2) Send 0.25 BTC (3) Send 0.25 BTC (4) Send 0.25 BTCSo, if it turns out you send funds to the wrong address due to a hijack, you will only lose 0.25 BTC instead of 1 BTC.

I still do copy and paste of wallet address, but I make sure that everything is correct before I send it. So I double check every character first, and compare it with your set of eyes. And if you feel safe then click send. So far though, I haven't encounter those copy and paste malware. I guess it starts on the basic safety hygiene that we practice, like not clicking any links specially in our e-mail so that we won't compromise our device. Of course, QR code might also be another option to all of us.

Ctrl + c and ctrl + v is already safe enough, if there is a clipboard malware, if you put enough attention you will easily notice. There is also something called checksum, https://learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/keys/checksum/ basically if you copy pasted your address, you don't even need to check whole thing. This is especially useful if you don't have time to compare letters by letters, but usually just a glance is enough to tell whether the address you copied and pasted is the same.

Since I didn't have to do a large fund transaction, if I had to send my Bitcoin in the beginning, I would just copy the wallet address and paste it. Sometimes I would compare the last few characters. Since I was doing the transaction in the wallet under my control, I didn't give much importance to the fact that mistakes can be made here too, funds can be lost due to carelessness.Later there is a chance of hacking in this copy pasting, even related to this I watched a short video where while copying and pasting the wallet address, another address is being pasted. After that I try to be a little careful. Now after pasting the address, I try to check it from beginning to end several times. If many characters of the last match then I transfer the funds.
There is no need to eliminate copy paste. If the amount of funds is large, the responsibility will increase, so you have to be careful. I think that you should not rush into anything take your time and work calmly and patiently.

I often copy and paste addresses when making transactions from my wallet, although I have not made any mistakes using this method so far. However, I know that there are many people who, after copying and pasting, re-check them and pressing anywhere on the keyboard, may go to the wrong address, and those that go to the wrong address can never be recovered. COLDCARD, a wallet that can be transacted offline, also transacts online. However, if you scan the QR code and transact, it may be less convenient, but if this seems troublesome to you, I think you can also copy the address and paste it later. However, those who are new often send it to the wrong address by mistake, which causes them to lose money, so you should always transact carefully.
