what i don't get is people screaming, its a scam don't invest. after the IPO period has ended............

The exchange is coming. Some of them want the price to be low, so they could join.

And some of them are just plain clinically retarded (or are 14 years old kids).

Any chance of an ETA on release date of the coin? Also, why has the IPO closed already if the coin is not released? I would still buy into the IPO now i think this coin has a great look and some good plans for the future!

No, there is no ETA, just watch this topic for progress updates.

The IPO is closed. There will be an exchange in 1-2 weeks.

So, how's the situation today, retard-wise? Smiley

My guess, those are the people who didn't invest because they thought the IPO was a scam.

Now it's starting to look like it might not be and that really pisses them off.

So they now wish very, very much for Simcoin to be a scam. They think if they repeat it a thousand times their wish might come true.

Well, good luck with that. I'd rather enjoy their butthurt in the following months, as IPO investors become stinking rich and they won't Smiley

Remember the magic concept, it's not risk that matters to most, it's risk perception.  Wink

I'm really curios now who will sell under 500.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

There will be 1 billion simcoin in the genesis block.
How are you planning to hold 60% of the coins (bounties / servers / developers reserve) ?
I think there will be a lot of FUD if you control them while the exchange is open.
Interested to know what you think about this.

That's a very good question. Let's start giveaway ideas discussion again.

I still think World Community Grid is a good way to disperse some part, because even if it's gamed, at least people will do good for humanity.

Any other ideas? I could give a bit to everyone in this thread for example Smiley but this might be viewed negatively as more centralization.

We need to give away to "fresh" and interested people...

It's also interesting how many people would accept simcoins for bounties and how many would only work for bitcoins...

We should in any case reserve 5% to retrofit some second hand Lenin statues in your image. I like banner campaigns and subsidized nodes as a method of giving coins away.

Now, finally, someone with really good ideas! Grin

5% might not be enough, though. How many tentacles did Lenin have?

I like banner campaigns and subsidized nodes as a method of giving coins away.

Oh, right! We should talk about how to reward nodes. But probably a bit later, I need to do another thinking pass over it...

Also, something to hand out at conferences, like paper wallets would be nice!

Maybe we should make a to-do list?
Mark out which parts you can do yourself, which parts need someone with professional skills, which parts need the help of community.

Maybe we should make a to-do list?
Mark out which parts you can do yourself, which parts need someone with professional skills, which parts need the help of community.

Well, the plan is simple - I will work on things that cannot be outsourced and outsource everything else (assuming I am able to find skilled people who can also tolerate my obsession with details).

I should probably start a separate thread to keep track of all the bounties, here's just stuff off the top of my head:

We will need:
  • a logo + style contest. Anyone remembers prices in the NXT contest?
  • World Community Grid integration (bounty)
  • client developers. I plan only to do a basic version as POC, final clients should be made by others. This includes mobile versions.
  • crypto audit (if we can get it), at least from somebody like doctorevil
  • a reserve for critical bugs found (bounty)
  • huge reserves for various services and merchant integration, because without it, a coin is nothing
  • to setup many initial nodes to jump start the network
  • a significant reserve to send people to conferences
  • paper wallets and other printed materials for conferences and promotions
  • our own site + forum with moderators
  • multipool?

Throw more stuff at me, I will edit this post.

- First block explorer
- First faucet
- multipool (?)
- website development
- writing articles bounty
- signature giveaway is a good way to get simcoin exposed (like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623943.0, made by argan)
- setup a node giveaway (like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623988.msg6939330#msg6939330, made by argan)

Block explorer should be integrated into clients. I don't know if we need a web-version too, but it should not be hard, because clients are browser-based.

Faucet needs some solutions to prevent abuse. For now let's use World Community Grid (WCG).

What's "multipool"?

What's "multipool"?

Like BC multipool: http://blackcoinpool.com/dashboard
so people can use their mining power to get simcoin and add buy pressure to the exchange.
