That's just childish.
Don't half ass your product and blame the people who want to make it work. The entire dev team should be embarrassed.

Not only is this coin gpu resistant, it's outright any form of mining resistant Wink

You want to "make it work"?!?!  You're not doing anything but trolling this thread "newbie".  Not a single thing you have said was useful so just move along and let the adults go about their business while you mine the newest shitcoin...

keep cool Smiley

Are you a part of the ORB Community or want to be it, then gives your vote! here!! One of the first 30 currencys in the World is Orbitcoin DEV Forum - don't forget free ORB's are here ORB Faucet, tell your friend's - With PoW (without Asic's)/PoS Hybrid-System everyone can mine ORB with general purpose pc-hardware. The PoS (Proof of Stake) generation features very low energy consumption. Green Stake over PoS

Just not going to stand for trolling in this thread...if you don't have any useful input or don't like what we're doing then move along like I said in my first post...simple as that.

why are you so angry? because you have your opinion, not enough?

now which will be the opinion of many, so break the pools

I'm not angry,  though lajz99 is starting to piss me off with his "I know you are what am I" responses.
Like I said, the devs should be embarrassed if specifically for this utter lack of respect for users.

I offered to host a pool. I pointed you in the direction of how to deal with DDoS. What more do you want? Should I just give you ssh access to my dedicated servers too? Seriously, you want CONSTRUCTIVE input? Provide constructive responses.

Anyway, enjoy your coin.
Hope it succeeds. The community needs something that works for once.
Glad to see this innovative idea has such a friendly team. It'll go far this way

please read the original white paper, hint...what does decentralization mean, and what is it's purpose? What is the idea behind a pool and why are implementations trying to move away from being resource heavy and why are centralized solutions such as pool mining against the very score of distributed systems?

I do not dev pools but i can tell you a determined ddos attack is not easy to stop or mitigate. if you really are worrried about the coin then switch to solo like the rest of us while we faithfully wait for pool devs to figure it out.

I'll propose this solution, pool owners, run multiple instances of your pool code on multiple servers and just number your pools, maybe 5 instances each will greatly improve the situation and help wth decentralization as well as connection issues if you pick good locations for your servers.

How to modify the cfg for the YAM miner to point it as my own user?
Quote
threads = 0
mining-params = nrs:av=0&m=512&donation-interval=50
mine = coyote://yvg1900.nrs_1@nrs.flipsidemining.com:4020:4444:10013./nrs
#proxy = socks4a://127.0.0.1:9150
#proxy = socks5://127.0.0.1:1080
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

User would be "miningviking.1" and password "x"
Some help here would be awesome!

i can help. for example

threads = 4 "for 4 cores, 0 = all cores"
mining-params = nrs:av=0&m=512& "512 memory for use"
mine = coyote://"yourworkername"."for example"1_"passwort may be"x@nrs.flipsidemining.com:4020:4444:10013/nrs
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

if i run it as:
Quote
threads = 0
mining-params = nrs:av=0&m=512
mine = coyote://miningviking.1_x@flipsidemining.com:4020:4444:10013./nrs
#proxy = socks4a://127.0.0.1:9150
#proxy = socks5://127.0.0.1:1080
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

or:
Quote
threads = 0
mining-params = nrs:av=0&m=512
mine = coyote://miningviking.1_x@flipsidemining.com:4020:4444:10013./nrs
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

I only get fuckloads of failures..

Iraq!? Afghanistan!? Bring your boys back home and drop a few big ones!!

EDIT:
Mario, if ypool picks it up that would be fantastic.
They already learned from PTS a few months back how to deal with DDoS and have stable servers under load.
What are their reasons for not wanting to host noirshares?

Hard to mine? Sounds like Vertcoin. We know how that went right? Heh.

The problems are coming from massive DDOS attacks from Chinese and Russian miners that realize the value of the coin
and want to mine it without competition for as long as possible. Even Mintpal and BTC-E that have access to vast
financial resources cannot stop DDOS easily.

DDOS means you have arrived. And the CMC listing put Noirshares on the map.

There are obviously a lot of people catching on very quickly that this coin is one of only a few right now
that are pushing the creative limits of Crypto. You are seeing that this industry is a lot more than just
about currency and/or commodity. There is so much more capability here and NRS shows some of that.

Sure there is work to be done but the cat is out of the bag.

edit - Looks like hash rate doubled in last 24 hours. Again.
And now it's tripled 6 hours later.

edit - Here is the old thread so people can see there was way more going on than just in the last week :

nrs is so hot, if the price is not so high, not more people wanner to mine it. All this prove that NRS shall fly to DA moon.
Is it right? LOL Grin Grin

Quick update, I have fixed a few things with nrs.flipsidemining.com so payouts should run regularly now.  I have started setting up a new GPU pool but am not done yet, and doubt I will be able to finish tonight, probably be able to finish it tomorrow.

Since this new host is able to mitigate the DDOS attack that was going on against flipsidemining Cheeto is migrating blockquarry to the new provider as well.  While he is going with the same host he is going in a different region's datacenter to keep things distributed.  After that we will figure out our next steps.
