So Pandacoin has no premine and no IPO. Other Proof of Stake (PoS) coins such as Blackcoin and Cinnicoin can say that too.
But there is one thing that the other coins can't say.. Pandacoin has 3 months Proof of Work distribution phase which lasted from Feb 16, 2014 to May 21, 2014 . That is a total of 94 days!
Blackcoin has a total of 7 days mining phase. Cinnicoin has a total of 3 days mining phase.
Those coins can say it's not 'premine' but with such as short mining phase it might as well be premine.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to May 21 when PND switched over to PoS. In the meatime, I'll continue stocking up and mining PND.

This x100. Pandacoin PND is going to stand out among all the other POS coins JUST because of this single factor. Not to mention all the other reasons why we're awesome

I have high expectations for PND, and for good reasons too. I support the notion that this could be THE gateway coin to reach the general population, as stated by the devs in their vision statement. It can be doge 2.0 without the meme or incompetent deoge devs that do not want to keep up with the new alt coin tech and can actually be taken seriously by the public, either start off in China or even via the internet. I for one, like where this is going!

From the looks of the chinese BCT thread, weibo follower numbers and chinese QQ channel, their community is slowly ramping up. I remember PND-Chinese saying bitcointhread is not popular in China though. But hey they have 265 members in their QQ chat room now.

So yes, let's get PND on exchanges with Chinese language support for them! But I think the best time to approach them is when PND trade volume kicks up on Mintpal. Show them what volume they are missing, especially from those that don't like trading on an English platform.

Proof of Stake Wallet version 2.0.0 is now available! Update your wallet to prepare for the PoS rollout!

Wallet version 2.0.0 is now available on https://github.com/pandacoin-official/pandacoin and as windows binary. OSX has been causing an unexpected regression which will be looked in a few hours.

A few things to consider before updating:

1. You NEED to back up your wallet.dat. The software will automatically do a copy but it's better to be sure.
2. The wallet will take around 10 minutes reindexing so please be patient.
3. The wallet might crash and give an error after importing (Windows 7 has been tested successfully). This is okay - just start the wallet again and you should be good to go.

The wallet is available to download under the following links:

PoS begins from block #136113. There are 383,689,180 PND left to mine before PoS implementation! Download our new Pandacoin (PND) wallet so that you would be ready for the PoS rollout!
