Although the idea is cool, i still have some thoughts:

- As far as i understand, each message need time for confirmation. I need to wait 1-2 minutes for my mate to receive my message then return a response to me. So basically it's not IM (Instant Message).

- the number of messages i can send depend on amount of coins i have, i can't send unlimited messages. I need to "buy coins" or "mine coins" in order to send messages ( who will receive these coins ? ) . So basically, it's NOT a free chat service.

- Messages is public on blockchain, not encrypted, everyone can read my messages. This is a huge downside, chatting is something should be private. BitTorrent now has BitTorrent Chat feature which is P2P, encrypted.

- Blockchain will increase infinitely, which mean Talkcoin will be a chat client that take huge amount of disk space.

Therefore i think TalkCoin's role is no more than a crypto currency. There would be no one use this for chatting purpose.

I have to agree with some of your word chat function is definitely something that needs to be worked on. What about private chat i don't think that it would be used chat should be a communication media weher we can dicuss things like promotion trading startegy etc what is useful for every user of this coin.
But we shouldnt forget a few things:

1 New algo that is running cool on gpus like X11
2 Voting system seen at HVC but without miserable IPO and premine
3 Custom wallet not just a copy cut of other coins

I can see your message I just can't respond, still 400 some blocks before any of my coins mature

Great so chat is working. I can confirm that before it appears in chat window it needs 1 block to be mined in the network. but with 20 sec block time i don't think this would be a problem

Therefore i think TalkCoin's role is no more than a crypto currency. There would be no one use this for chatting purpose.

The goal is not to replace IRC chat or the trollboxes, the goal is to offer a decentralized chat without central server to deliver messages and where everybody can talk without censorship. In some countries, people can't talk freely and exchange their points of views. For example, Turkey recently blocked access to Twitter.

And if, in 1 or 10 years, bitcointalk.org doesn't exist anymore (who knows?), talkcoin will always exist for bitcoiners and altcoiners because it's P2P.

+100, completely agree. The idea of TAC is so great, I strongly support.

Diff is "difficulty" : 1.80761274,
In sgminer is calculated in another way. But recently it seems somebody with high hashrate joined because a few minutes ago it was "difficulty" : 0.69795305,

I'm doing this at the moment, not sure if it's working properly though, if anyone see's a mistake, tell me.

talkcoin.conf file:

# Enable RPC
rpcallowip=all

# Mining
gen=0

listen=1
maxconnections=100
gen=0
genproclimit=-1
rpcuser=USER
rpcpassword=PASS
rpcport=9031
p2pport=9031
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
daemon=1

change user and pass to something

then the sgminer is:

sgminer.exe -k talkcoin -o 127.0.0.1:9031 -u USER -p PASS  -I 19 -g 4 -w 128

no coins found yet myself though...

Thanks! Hope my explanation on how to solo mine can help you out a bit. Unsure if it's working though since this is my first time solo-mining.
