True.. But for moving the funds to their main wallet they at least have to wait for the next block to be mined. If transferring to, for example, MtGox, or even to the main wallet and then to MtGox, its six blocks (or even seven). There were single blocks which took hours to be mined! Arbitrage gaps dont exist that long, no matter if seven, six or one block waittime. There is no reason to not move the funds directly to the main wallet, it doesnt cost anything, and it will eventually have to be transferred anyway (for speculation, or for funding the ponzi sceme, or to substract 1.75%) Nope, I still dont see any valid reason for this behavior. Ummm dude you're assuming that they're only operating in USD why on earth would they be doing that? Arbitrage is not limited to simply one currency when the gain target as it is here is upping the btc balance. |

It's totally illegal now because the parlament just approved laws that impose the use of cash up to 1000 eur, for more you have to use a bank account. So bitcoin = money laundering in italy = jail.
Since when Bitcoins = cash by law in italy? So you can pay taxes in BTC? By that logic, you should be able to pay your taxes in the US with Korean Won. |

Indeed. Legal tender in any country would be considered 'cash', and 'cash' from a foreign country would be considered 'foreign cash'. You cannot pay your taxes in any country (that I know of) with foreign cash. Bitcoins are not cash. I don't know why anyone is even talking about that. The argument is not about bitcoin being cash, as facebook credits, wow gold, and prepaid cards are not cash either. They are stored credits however transferable to 'cash' and acceptable by non-government bodies as 'cash', hence the government may treat them as 'cash' for prosecution. I degress, a country not accepting a certain form of payment for paying taxes does not mean that form neither is nor is not a currency in some country. |

ultimafund doesn't guarantee you a return, hell you could lose everything and it wouldn't be his fault. I invested a couple of bitcoins for a week or so and during that period the % return that I made myself were way better than his. |

It would stand to reason that the more liquidity you offer the market relative to market size, the lower your return would be. If such a relationship holds up then as dollars go into the market, fluctuations will increase, net liquidity will decrease and profitability of microtrading will go up. However... it also stands to reason that someone smart enough to create software smart enough to capitalize on such trades is smart enough to understand that his percentage of a few thousand btc can be funneled out into another iteration which will generate 100% his money. Why use ours when he's figured out the game if the market is saturated on a liquidity basis? Because he can make more on bigger movements with... My guess? Expect profitability to decrease at a rate greater than liquidity increases and respond to growth in slight excess of declining liquidity. |
