1. Really fast block times, which translates to nearly instant transfer of funds. If you've ever waited around for BitCoin to arrive you know how important this is!
2. Really low transaction fees - again this makes USING BitStar a true pleasure and matches the PoS system very well
3. Reasonably long PoW period which ensures that plenty of people have a chance to mine the coin and get involved. The more distributed a coin is the healthier it is.
4. Reasonable amount of coins ensure that we're not talking about coins that become worthless because they are so plentiful they are devalued individually.
5. Active and involved developer with a long-term vision
6. Giving back to charity - some may not care, but it's important to give back
7. A great name and abbreviation (never hurts)
Eventually these qualities will shine through. Right now people are busy chasing the new shiny, but most of those coins will be garbage soon. This coin has staying power.
