The Mjollnircoin vault is slowly filling up, currently counting over 2,200 MNR A lot of things have been done by other coins before, like Give Aways, Faucets, Bounties, Contests etc so I'd like to hear what you would like the most. I'll start off with a couple of ideas, feel free to suggest your own! How about contests? - Crack a (simple) password protected MNR wallet
- T-shirt/Poster
- MNR slogans/quotes
- Type-facing/Font for Mjollnircoin
How about bounties? - Wallet for Syllable
- Mobile Wallet
- Article on Mjollnircoin
- Translations of [ANN] to other languages
- Free-style Mjollnircoin-art (MNR for every submitter?)

Contests would be cool ... we need to raise awareness.. I was thinking something with twitter. On a site i used to help run we had a script that gave people coupons after they tweeted about the site or +1 it on google plus. If we can get people to tweet / like or +1on these social networks maybe we can reward folks with x amount of MNR or something..

I'm not a facebook or tweeter type guy as I have way to many websites I'm on everyday related to programming and other things like crypto. However I personally wouldn't want to have to send 5 or 10 MNR to everyone who follows. That could get out of hand quickly. Now if you could "lore" them into downloading the GUI wallet and doing CPU mining and could setup a simple website for someone to "signup" to receive the bonus MNR. They simply enter their wallet address in the website. Then after they have mined 100 MNR you give them the bonus then that would be cool as it gets us new miners. This could probably be automated. I have no idea what kind of work something like this would take but it serves the purpose of getting new miners. If the GUI client had the ability to load with windows startup then they would/could continue to mine. Just thinking out loud. Probably a dumb idea, but the dumbest idea is the one never spoken.

I want to run something by the community.
What would you guys think of doing something on a temp basis to generate funds. What I was thinking is to increase the block reward by X amount for Y time. The extra X per block would go into a separate wallet address used for a specific purpose (similar to the donation "vault"). For example Bittrex will add a coin for 1 BTC. So if we could generate the 1 BTC worth of MNR we could get onto a popular good exchange that a lot of people use.
This would surely help the value of MNR as it would put us on an exchange that has a good deal of volume.
Now I don't know how this would work from a technical standpoint but we could either spread out the "extra" mnr on a series of blocks or just have a super block. I don't know if this could be done behind the scenes or if a new wallet would need to be released.
mjollnircoin, can you comment on the technical details needed to do something like this?
It's possible we could want to "generate" 2 or 3 btc worth of coins this way which could be used for some bounties or to run some contests. I'd leave this up to the community to decide and we can surely discuss it.
Any coins generated via a superblock or over Y time could just simply be removed from the end of life mining of the coin. I personally think a few thousand coins generated soon could be worth a whole lot more to the value of the coin (ie if used to get on a good exchange) then holding them to the end.
We have an exchange problem for sure right now which is hurting us in both growth and value. We really don't need to be on MintPal.com but Bittrex.com and Poloniox.com would do us wonders!
To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing a small "superblock" per week that is say 5 times the normal value. This would go into the "vault" and could be used for contests and other cool things the community could think up to generate more interest. I'm sure this type of thing if thought out could help us tremendously right now in the short term. The end result is that we would get done mining ever so slightly earlier as we would run out of coins sooner. Again this could be done for only a short period of time to help generate needed funds for things mentioned above.
What do you guys think assuming it can be done?

Yes, there will be no give-away in this thread. I like the suggestion to slowly decrease the MNR reward. Perhaps some action through Twitter will yield us better results (some exchanges respond to twitter pressure) Once decided, there will be a new vault address for this ofc

This coin is dying amongst a sea of crapcoins. Unless something is done to raise it's profile it will be just another dead coin. We need someone to take charge and start raising the profile of the coin. Maybe someone with promotional experience?

Thanks, I too like the suggestion but I am not convinced yet We have to avoid wallet users going into shock when they see an automatic spending transaction to the Mjollnir Vault for a "super" block they have just mined (maybe a better name is vault block?). Perhaps a different minted coin icon and a clearly described Label for the sent transaction ? When such a block would be mined, the miner keeps the original block reward and the rest can be sent to the vault: ( 250 - 50 - Fee ) Technically it is possible, if it is integrated it will require a mandatory update of all Mjollnircoin wallets since they will have to agree on block reward A weekly Vault block that holds 250 MNR accumulates to ~ 1300 MNR a year, which can currently be minted in a day or two with commodity hardware. Thus, in simple terms perhaps it is more pragmatic to fill the Vault (or another address, with a specific goal) with the low difficulty coins we have mined so far, which probably yields a larger fund ? Just asking Then, there's two issues I worry about: - Hardcoding of Vault Address in wallet (this can come back and haunt me) - At very high difficulty, the block reward is too high (if diff and exchange rate are related)

i dont know why crapcoins get more marketcap than good ones, i guess some rich guys create a coin and then pump it and stupid guys loose there money.

Luck is a ratio between % of blocks found and % of network hashrate claimed and should ideally hover around 100%.
