In actual fact if there is enough in the vault now - I'd be happy for it to be auctioned off as per the plan with special blocks.
The Vault currently holds 4276 MNR, some of the funds I reserved for the Mjollnircoin Wallet Contest (1000) and Twitter GiveAway (2000) ( http://brokkir.github.io/mjollnircoin/vault.html) If its big enough to attract interest for it, it could be the first sale to the benefit of the Bittrex fund

I thought it was a good idea from the get so im in.. .
No poll needed as far as im concerned ...
But man.. a whole btc just to get on the floor sheesh...
when i was a lil tike my uncle drilled a hole in a quarter and looped a string around it so i can play video games all day so.. when i needed a credit i just tossed in my special quarter and puled it right back out after the credit was given! lulz
I really wish we had a bitcoin with a hole in it so to speak... Im just not feeling the 1btc but it is what it is i guess.

Will donate some more once it's minded but with the current mining payouts it'll take a bit of time (good thing though once we get more attention as scarcity seems to be a plus).

I think the vault funds should be used for PR/raise awareness of MNR to regular users NOT paying to get listed. Paid votes are unethical and I don't think we should support them. Just my opinion but I have written a bit more about how they hurt crypto in general here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=652222.new#newPart of MNR is the ethical nature, lack of premine etc. Why hamper that with paid listing?

Agreed, Auction is closed now. Pragmatism and Ethics don't always agree; An Exchange with Volume is like Oxygen for an altcoin and they very well know how to capitalize on that (regardless of the coin's quality)

As for the Mjollnircoin Vault Blocks, Find the required changes to the code hereCurrently, this is running in TestNet and the Vault blocks are awaiting confirmation - Vault block start at height 37712
- Every 5152th block is a Vault Block, for a maximum of 10 blocks
- Vault block reward is 25000 MNR
Values are not final, the above translate to 1 vault block every ~7 days, thus depleating the vault blocks in ~70 days total

Also I think it is fine to auction off coins (for a fair rate) as long as the money/BTC are used for legitimate promotion. Alternatively maybe we could give some coins to do a job, e.g. a new PR person for the team, promise them the coins and hold them in ESCROW for a certain period. This would give them incentive to really work on promoting the coin (and not just sell them), the greater their success the greater the value those MNR will hold. Just an idea.

There are still the Vault Blocks; They should get us listed if we somehow don't attract the critical mass required for Bittrex Any blocks that are left will be kept in the Vault and can be used for a purpose like you describe, promoting Mjollnircoin

Values are not final, the above translate to 1 vault block every ~7 days, thus depleating the vault blocks in ~70 days total I've been thinking about this since our IRC chat. Here is my "revised" thoughts: I'm not sure we want to wait 70 days or 2 1/3 months. I don't really see the need to generate 10 different blocks of 25K. Just generate one super vault block with 250K MNR. No need to wait at all. We can then get the auction process started right away. All 10 blocks of coins can be "sold/auctioned" at the same time. Each block reserved for 0.1 btc. So basically the first 10 people to take a block for 0.1 btc gets the block of 25K MNR (assuming they don't get outbid). Once all 10 blocks are "taken" at 0.1 btc we can allow others to increase bid in 0.01 increments. We can allow up to 24 hours between bids but if at any time 24 hours go by without a new/higher bid then the auction is over and the funds are used to get on Bittrex. Any additional btc generated from the 0.01 bid increments can be rolled into the donation vault to be used for another purpose the community decides. So basically if we generate the 250K MNR at one shot we can get the auction going and possibly wrap it up within a week if at least 10 people want a block or 5 people want 2 sets of blocks, etc... Quick, to the point, easy to admin right here in the forums and should generate some excitement along the way. What do you all think? Carlo

Example what it could look like. Let's call this day 3: 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc mjollnircoin 0.1 btc zedicus 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc cayars 0.1 btc TheRealSteve 0.1 btc braxx 0.1 btc zedicus 0.1 btc griffinriz 0.1 btc auy In this example two people have bid on a second block. At this point all bids are 0.1 btc Now on day 4 three additional people decide to bid 0.11 btc so it would look like this: 0.11 btc reorder 0.11 btc cminer123 0.11 btc feina24h 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc mjollnircoin 0.1 btc zedicus 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc cayars 0.1 btc TheRealSteve 0.1 btc braxx ------ These three got knocked off the current list 0.1 btc zedicus 0.1 btc griffinriz 0.1 btc auy Now on day 5 auy raise his bid plus I decide I want to get a 2nd block so 0.11 btc auy 0.11 btc cayars 0.11 btc reorder 0.11 btc cminer123 0.11 btc feina24h 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc mjollnircoin 0.1 btc zedicus 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc cayars -------- These bids get knocked off the list 0.1 btc TheRealSteve 0.1 btc braxx Now on day 6 chango wants in at 0.11 and since I just got knocked off by him at 0.1 I rebid at 0.11 (cayars) for a 2nd block of MNR 0.11 btc cayars 0.11 btc chango 0.11 btc auy 0.11 btc cayars 0.11 btc reorder 0.11 btc cminer123 0.11 btc feina24h 0.1 btc Soul_eater_123 0.1 btc mjollnircoin 0.1 btc zedicus No new bids on day 7 so all ten blocks go to the list from day 6. Total auction of 1.7 btc 1 btc to bittrex and 0.7 btc to the donation vault for other uses. This is optimistic but would show how it could work if we got a lot of bids. Frankly I just want to see the 10 blocks bid on.

Quick, to the point, easy to admin right here in the forums and should generate some excitement along the way. What do you all think? Carlo Yes, the example numbers are a little bit extreme 70 days is a long period for funding. I was thinking about less blocks, but with a higher reward and shorter times between releases (3-4 days) to auction them one by one sequentially until the BTC amount of 1.0 is reached and all excess would be used for another purpose, whilst keeping the left-over vault blocks to pay in MNR for promotion purposes in the future. But your solution sounds a lot simpler, which I like very much. If anyone would like to comment on the Auction idea, it would be great. Otherwise, I'd like to go with idea of Cayars (his ideas been all good for Mjollnircoin so far) and organize the Auction as described

I spoke to Bittrex and they say that they do not list coins for money. They will advertise coins and if the developers are willing to pay for advertising, have working wallets etc and illustrate their support for the coin by doing this they will list.

Anyway I agree we should do whatever is best for the coin as long as it is made clear so that there can't be any FUD about it. For example the VAULT could be renamed the Mjollnir promotion fund or something similar to make it's purpose clear. Maybe even incorporate a certain percentage of all mined blocks in future to go towards the fund whilst ensuring that too many coins are never put onto the market at once. Also I hope the aim is not to auction all 250,000 Mjollnir in one go as that would kill any value. If that is what how a superblock would be used then I am opposed to it.

Tho i put in 1000MNR for the cause i wasn't too hot on paying them to list us either. It sounds a lot more palatable when you put it this way but 1tc is alot considering!.. What exactly are the details of the advertizement? X amount of days/weeks advertized on bittrex till listed? Or is it advertize with us and "maybe" we will list you when we feel like it?
