I probably dont understand the concept correctly, but if you want to lower inflation, what is the advantage over just leaving the blocktimes at 30secs and reducing the block rewards?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I probably dont understand the concept correctly, but if you want to lower inflation, what is the advantage over just leaving the blocktimes at 30secs and reducing the block rewards?

it's not only about the monetary inflation but also the block-inflation inside the chain.
assuming QB will go until it's end with pulse, that's over 10 years from now on... Look at BTC's blockchain with soon about 40G after only 8 years of operation. Who here likes running their own BTC wallet and having to sync (initially) ~40G?..

With pulse the blockchain size will be much smaller and syncing will be faster because pulse tries to avoid 'empty' blocks.

This explanation is only in regard to the inflation. You can read our whitepaper linked at OP for all details.

Cheers,

thanks, I missed it in the OP. The link is a bit burried I think. I just took a brief look, interesting, I already know I dont agree on everything. There is probably a discussion somewhere in this thread too, I will read this when I have more time.

This is a community coin, so new input is much appreciated! Seeing you're a hero member, you probably have some well-thought suggestions Smiley

FIRST PULSE BLOCKS!

6.5 hours later and we have reached a 100 blocks! This would have normally happened in 100 minutes, so this is much more efficient!

Growth accelerating!

After a successful launch of Quarkbar Pulse yesterday, we have grown a lot in value! After 6 weeks of innovation our value increased from 40 to 400! Before the end of the year we want to make that 2000!

It's at 420 satoshi so far, it hit 800 last time, with new algo we should expect at least 1200? Shocked

I don’t think I missed an Update. My wallet will not connect. Last sync'd 3 weeks ago. I know pulse is alive but that wouldn’t make my wallet not connect. Did I miss something?

Thanks. I will leave it open and see if it connects with more time.

perhaps you need to reindex as well

It just connected. Took about 30 mins. But it connected.

Edit** It just disconnected. I will have to take care of it later. I am heading out of town.

it should connect way faster,
examine your conf file, some addnodes may work on old version
and slow down the start significantly

Removing all addnode= entries from the config is also worth a try Smiley

The amount of mining at the suprnova pool has also increased a lot, so the chances are lower. With the fixed low difficulty this might look like a lot of rejects, but f0o (obfuscode) can probably tell you more about it.
