I think alot of people have grown tired of the effort that is involved in keeping on track of this coin. i mean how many ann pages? how many times did you have to check the list to see of you were still on it. checking your not puppeted? and the more distributed this coin becomes the less roi you will get. Not much new money comes this way so if everyone has a stake whos buying a stake?

IMO: more sockpuppets they found, more node to regular stakeholders -> better ROI

Sock puppets are bad for coin. Look at NFD. Dumpers are dumping it lower than IPO prices. It will be six  months to an year before NFD will recover this  dump (if ever).

It has nothing to do with puppets. If someone has a lot of coins it doesn't mean he is gonna dump them. Nas and Nxt are good examples. Some people have tens of millions coins in Nxt and hundreds of millions in Nas but they are not dumping. I've got lots of Qora and Sim, but instead of dumping I'm buying. Btw the same with Nem. There are tens of puppet masters with lots of puppets but they are not dumping.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

The problem is that there will be zero ROI if the most valuable members leave the project because of devs. Looks at Nem and Qora. Nem hasn't been launched but has a value and trading volume because of the community. Qora is launched, has an original source, implemented voting system and name trading service but the price and trading volume are low because of lack of active members. With every new devs' decision Node comes closer and closer to Qora. This puppet hunting might become the last drop. People's patience is not limitless.

Not so simple, many of these sockpuppets are real and if they are allowed, I'm quite sure that these guys are more willing to dump than guys with just one stake.

This is true for Nxt, but the kind of people who create 10s  of  sock puppets are dumpers, Look at NFD. Perfect example of sock puppet dump avalanche.  They are selling lower than original IPO.

If someone has 20-30 stakes he'll probably dump some. But I see no difference with having 1 or 3 or even 5 stakes. For now the largest number of coins have guys who won the auction.

What the fuck are you talking about? Go to sleep. Then check IPO and selling prices.

And where did you see 10s of sockpuppets in Node? Most groups have 2-5 people. And I'm sure most of them friends or family or just Tor users.

This would be all right, if we could look at it, as a step after IPO and before active trading.
NEM is also going to hold a (huge) auction, before launch. (Or they were planning to, I'm not following NEM actively.)

The problem is, there was an auction... then talk about another auction. Then now this with puppets, no clear mechanism what happens to coins from puppets.

It's a mess. As I said before, devs suck at this. One bad public relation decision after another. How did they think that doing puppet removal this way would not result in this war in the topic is a mystery to me.

It feels like devs are 18-20 years old. They're good in programming and stuff but haven't yet learnt how to orginize stuff and deal with people.

I dont see many others here atm so currently nodes most active users are being accused of having sockpuppets ha
Regarding users dumping node and any ipo coin. imo ppl with low activity accounts are the dumpers here for a quick 1btc after launch. pple with full member or above will be the ones to carry this community into the future after the post launch dump

That's how I'd deal with current situation.

1. Unlabel all groups of 2 people without questioning.
2. Check IPs of groups of 3 people. Unlabel everybody with Tor/Corporate/Education IPs.
3. Take a closer look on groups of 4-5 people with Tor IPs. If they didn't sign up to 4-5 accounts in a raw within few minutes unlabel them also.
4. PM all other people and ask them to explain how come they have the same IP as people in their groups.
5. See how it goes and think what to do.

My concern is that these endless issues are huge distractions. If devs are occupied with auction, auction overrun, puppet removal, and puppet removal consequences, then when do they have a time to code?
As long as Node is excellent, thinks can turn better, but if it can send and receive coins in a nxt clone client, no new and exciting functions, then this will turn ugly(er.)

By the way, do devs really think that if anybody wanted to make puppets he would stop with just one and wouldn't make at least 5?

I reckon there will be some dissapointment as people expect to replicate what hapoened with nxt and unfortunatley its yet to happen again. node will be released and soon forgotten unless they have something new. passing coins around and a new wallet doesnt cut it any more. communitys the number 1 feature of any coin currently node is losing its community.
