That's the exchange page for BlackCoin on Mintpal.  You can see on the left side are the sell orders people have put in, and on the right side are the buy orders.  Anyone can put in any order they want.  So at the very beginning, the order book will be blank, then people will start to place their buy and sell orders.  When a buy and sell order hit the same price (or overlap), a trade is made (at the price of the one that was already on the page).

i was just wondering, because on some markets their is a beginning price, from where you can trade.

At 2700 satoshi, the notable price movements were on the order of a day ($1,000,000 cap)
At 27000 satoshi, the notable price movements are on the order of a week ($10,000,000 cap)
At 270000 satoshi, the notable price movements will be on the order of a month ($100,000,000 cap)
At 2700000 satoshi, if we get that high, the notable price movements will be the same as BTC now - order of a year ($1,000,000,000 cap)

Sounds like it could be right, the fiat prices for bc have not gone down much because btc rose.      The price in the mid twenties is healthy, its normal for it to waver here just like it did in April on the way down.   To go straight up is more likely to fail, stepping up gradually would match more holders over time
