Why all the POS coin algorithm is scrypt , why not try X11. I'm confused.

They lack the ability to comprehend how problematic it is to allow asic farms/multipools to hop on at launch.

Dev mentality:

High hashrate = success

even though 98% of it will be comprised of asic farms/multipools. (Look at SHIBE for reference, was a complete fucking disaster in regards to distribution)

It's only 14 days total POW... Waiting for the lunch!

Lol, ok? So by it being a short distribution stage, let's make it even more impossible for the average miner to generate anything worthwhile right?

Listen to the suggestions of the community as there will not be a deterrent for everyone that has advocated for scrypt because they're able to mine GROESTL as well.
Unless they already have asics..  Angry

Also, X11 blocks out the Nvidia mining community and is less efficient compared to Groestl. Simple choice at this point, pick GROESTL
the suggestions of the community , seriously it's the 8th time you said that, everyone has a different opinion respect that fact we have no interest in scrypt or X11 the fact is we just want to please the community and it seems most people are for scrypt algo, way more no doubt about this.

If it's GMT, current time is 17:40 so 1 hour 20.

London is BTS, so it's 18.35

London is completely irrelevant though, OP says 19:00 GMT, which is in ~75 minutes.

If this launches 19:00 BST instead of GMT, be ready for a huge drop in credibility and lots of people screaming PREMINE PREMINE.

I was replying to the london comment and stating the time.

I know it's irrelevant for this launch, OP says GMT.

The math in the ANN post is wrong. The mixed POW+POS periods will yield less than 50M coins each.. maybe closer to ~25M for each period, as half the blocks will be POS.

Im useing supernova after silk.pool.mn got something like hacked and a lot coins stolen Wink just a tip !

Please stop spreading FUD...silk.pool.mn is a respectable pool which hosts a number of coins. They were not hacked, another pool was hacked and they used the DB against pool.mn...users with the same info were hacked yes

I'll be bringing my 250 MH/s to silk.pool.mn so I'll let you guys decide which pool to use

That's true, PoS will eat some of the blocks. Not sure if it
will be half though, BC 100M > 75M.

BC was 75M because it started POS at block 5000, through block 10000, so half of 5000 blocks was POS, not half of the full 10k blocks.

Silkcoin is starting POS from block 1, so half of the totals will be POS and thus not provide block rewards, and therefore reduce the total number of coins.
