that guy from the cryptopool is a real snake: several hours ago he asked me in a pm to come back to his pool and if things won't work out he will pay me 0.1 btc at some point in time later on Cheesy my god, what a fag...

I;ve also talked with him...it doesn't appear to be a fag ...but I think he lost a lot of coins because like i said I have received 9 payments from them but actually they were same amount X 3 so there where only payments for 3 blocks.

well, that's not a valid point to me: in such a situation it is all about communication, crisis management. If you want to earn money by collecting a 1% fee, you carry risk. And if something happens you have to try to solve situation but not just run off... He takes money for a service that he cannot properly deliver(assuming he does not scam) or he is just a scammer. To say "well sorry, this is a new experience for me to start a pool" is ridiculous. We talk about quite some money that people invest. You can't just start and build cars in your garage tomorrow and ask for sympathy if somebody does with a shitty car... Of course, we are the ones using his service, true thing... But especially those that want cryptos to thrive should point more responsibility and effort to what they offer to people. What happens is that everybody now gets accused of scam and that's the next problem. There should be an official escrow service for pool operators, like they have to put some bitcoin in escrow until it is clear that they are not scamming.

That was an excellent post. +1. You finally said what nobody around here seems to understand. These people are offering a product and a service and attempting to collect fees for that service and or product. And throwing up your hands and saying "I don't know why it doesn't work" isn't acceptable.

My personal opinion of this catastrophe was that it was fraud. I believe these guys wanted to get listed on an exchange quickly to dump everything they had for BTC. I could be wrong and it's just complete and utter incompetence all the way around from the developer of this shitcoin, to the shitty pools, to even us who should have seen the writing on the wall and jumped about 10 minutes after this failed launch. Either way the result is the same.

Nothing worked on this launch and anyone who has ever dealt with computers and web sites and programs know that you develop, you QA test, and then you go to production. You don't just jump to production when even the most basic of things for crypto "like a working wallet and seed nodes" don't exist.

To be completely fair I am a big hater of this shitcoin and have made that clear, but I did finally manage to get the wallet to sync and did actually receive *some* of my coins back from 24hash today. Some but not all. I don't even care since I know that no one in their right mind would give me 0.00000000000000001 Satoshi for one. There is nothing here of any value other than the lessons learned.

I would advise the incompetents running this coin and the incompetents running these busted pools to go and have a good look at the EuropeCoin and how it's developers and pools made their latest launch go. Everything is working FINE!!!! No problems whatsoever. That is what happens when you actually care about what you are offering to your customers and your reputation as a man, and not just a scammy get rich quick punk who thinks that cloning other people's code makes him capable of releasing production ready computer systems.

Not sure why I wasted this time typing this, as it will be deleted shortly by the little man behind the curtains, but for all the money I spent on rented rigs I deserve the forum to vent.

Now I am out. If anyone here wants to make me an offer on 20K of this shitcoin send a PM.

Well, you are mixing things up here: there are also pools running smoothly, you should not forget that. And if you added the nodes like it was stated several times, the wallet synched. Your post sounds a little too harsh I'd say for what actually went wrong. There was even a vote on a possible relaunch. So, I doubt this can be called a scam... Nevertheless, I understand you were a little pissed as the pool refused to pay out. I'd keep the coins if I were you

just one pool is stealing coin will not impact the Liberty much.
Cinni had similar case, when dgb pool steal 600,000 coins.

Good side is no premine, no ipo. As long as the developer dedicate in this coin, it can fly

Yes and no. I was mining this yesterday at launch. Nothing was working then. The information on this thread was completely wrong and it wasn't until I read 30 pages deep today that I was lucky enough to see the added suprnova.cc node that made the wallet work.

I do IT for a living man, and have been mining for a while. I can notepad a simple configuration file. Bottom line is that this was a shit launch of a shitcoin. 24hash didn't pay, moved my hashes elsewhere and they didn't pay. The third pool is already on here trying to sort out if they awarded 2x or 3x the coins mined and then didn't pay.

Do not fool yourself. This was a catastrophe. It should be the study on how not to do crypto currency. The silly vote on a relaunch means nothing. There shouldn't have been a need to relaunch, and no one will give you a fart for an old or new Libertycoin, but I digress.

If there is a faucet (or in Libertycoin's case, a toilet) let me know via PM. I will send a turd your way.

Now I am really done with your shitcoin thread. No need to delete anything else.

Good luck guys.

I see your pretty new to the forum or at least not many post. Sometimes things do not go as planned. I will help you out. You mentioned that you have 20,000 coins and no one in there right mind would pay anything for them. I will offer you .08 bitcoins for them. You send first as I have a lot more post and feedback is all good. That is a whole lot more than you say they are worth. Then you can go mine whatever you want and forget about this thread. If you do not sell them for the amount offered obviously you must think they are worth more.

Have a good day and if you want to take me up on my offer send to D9TpARmGxR2PDHetcHtSNofW8PBSUb8W8H

You are doing that for a lifetime? Well, there was a little trouble with that one pool, then I switched the pool and am since then mining on a constant, reliable level. If you mined at Hashfaster, it takes some time until they pay out. But then the coins roll in. Guess you know that as you are doing that for a lifetime... Whatever, you cannot please everybody at the same time

http://libertycoin.co/draft-statament-regarding-the-alleged-scam-pools-and-the-people-asking-for-a-relaunch/

(Draft) Statament regarding the alleged scam pools and the people asking for a relaunch:

First we would like to start with a brief recapitulation of the events:
-   On May 8th around 4:00 am we posted the pre-announcement of Libertycoin and we wrote that the coin would be released on May 9th at 1:00 pm. We gave more than 33 hours in advance to the community to prevent any form of the so-called “Ninja Launch”.
-   On May 9th around 1:10 pm we announced that there would be a small delay of 30 minutes on the launch for we were re-compiling the windows wallet with then new graphics we got from Templar77 (who designed Cinnicoin’s graphics too).
-   Around 1:40 – 1:50 when the compilation of the new wallet was over, we published the links to download the windows wallet and source code.
-   We did not release the wallet with a seed node. Why? We had some discussion about it prior the launch but for voting majority –within our dev team- we decided not to, the argument was, “if the pools have to compile the client to set up everything, we should not have advantage over them, we should start compiling it at the same time as them.” So we started compiling the client on a VPS at the same time as we published the links. After a couple of minutes, it was ready with no further problems.
-   Around 4 pm, we received a couple of private messages telling us that they had not received any payments from the 24hash pool, but they had from other pools. As the block maturity in Libertycoin is 50 blocks (50 minutes) we decided to post a recommendation on the thread asking to beware of that pool until we confirmed it was working okay.
-   Time passed and we got people confirming that it was not paying its users, so in that moment we decided to delete all the Chinese pools that looked scammy, and kept the pools that users reported were paying.
-   At some point in the night (CST time) the 24hash pool did not even allowed its users to login, so we took it as a confirmation that it was in fact a scam pool.

You have to notice that only around 3 hours passed after the launch when users started reporting that 24hash might be a scam pool, so the damage to the miners on that pool was very reduced.

Let us remind you a few things:

-It is not our obligation to monitor the pools, nor tell you where to throw your hash rate, nor punish scammers. We are not your parents, we are not the "owners" of Libertycoin, we are not the police, and we are not your financial advisors. The objective of any cryptocurrency is for it to be as decentralized as possible. I do not recall Satoshi Nakamoto doing any of that.
Even though it is not our job, we decided to help the users issuing some recommendations about the reports we were receiving.

About the re-launch petitions
As you have read above there is no reason to do such thing as re-launching Libertycoin. If all cryptocurrencies had to be relaunched after some kind of scam was executed, Bitcoin would have been relaunched thousands of times.

Libertycoin was not ninja launched, for it was pre-announced before launched. It did not have a single premined block and it was not distributed in an IPO or in a communist free distribution. And it was not instamined by ASICS because it uses the X11 algorithm.
I have been involved in cryptocurrencies since early 2013 and this by far more one of the fairest launch I have witness.
One of the members of our team made a poll and the results confirmed the community does not want it to be relaunched. In fact, it is very probable the only ones voting for a relaunch are the group wanting to crash Libertycoin (I will talk about them below) and some miners that unfortunately have their coins retained in the 24hash pool.

Libertycoin will not be relaunched. Miners have spent electricity mining this coin. Others, have rented rigs just to mine this coin, and others have bought it. Relaunching will only affect a huge majority of those who have invested with their time, money and effort.
As I mention above, we are not the “owners” of Libertycoin. We are not the central bank of Libertycoin which job is to monitor, punish and regulate all of what occurs.

This is a free market. In free markets, companies are not too big to fail. In free markets we do not rescue banks, or companies, or investors. I know this concept is difficult to understand to some of our community members who live in a communist oligarchy, or in a Keynesian failed State. We are crypto-anarchists so we will not act like the People’s Bank of China. We will not restart the whole Libertycoin economy just too benefit a few.

We will help to try to recover the coins stuck in the alleged scam pools, but be sure of this: it’s not our job, we are doing it just because we want to help, so don't act as we owe you something.

The group wanting to crash Libertycoin
We (dev team) have a group on Skype, and we had an Indian friend that collaborated for many projects in the past. A few weeks ago, when we decided to create Libertycoin. He argued that he wanted to include a ‘secret premine’ in the code and profit from this coin. We rejected that idea. He got angry because he cannot create coins by himself so he threatened to crash our launch if we released it without him (and the secret premine).
So far we have doxxed some of his fake accounts and we have confirmed it is him making all the bad comments.
We don’t know his real name, only some of his accounts, but the only further thing we can say is that he has been involved in heavily premined coins like Hotcoin where they premined more than 6% of the coins.

We cannot tell if all the accounts asking for a relaunch are him, but we do know that the majority are.
Let us finish this by saying the quote we added in the Genesis Block’s Timestamp:

“That which does not kill us make us stronger”. Friedrich Nietzsche
https://github.com/liberty-project/LibertyCoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L2486

Hmmm, that timeline sure sounds different than the one some on here are trying to push. The thing is I was here through  all of it and the above timeline is correct. I have nothign to do with the dev on this coin but feel it has a future and plan on supporting it as I can.

Thanks dev for the above post.

sry to interrupt the serious stuff, but how does pos work ? u have to encrypt and keep coins for 8 hours? do u have to run wallet online or u can shut it off? After I encrypted, I unlocked it, and it says they havent matured yet

OK AGAIN WITH RESPECT TO "THECRYPTOPOOL":

I AM IN CONTACT WITH THE OPERATOR, HE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE AND START MANUAL PAYOUTS LATER ON. YES, THE WEBSITE IS DOWN AND WON'T GO ONLINE AGAIN. LET'S GIVE HIM SOME TIME TO FIX THE ISSUE!

Well I never even had a chance to enter my wallet address, so how is he going to do a manual payout to someone like me?
Please pm your ID and wallet address, it doesn't matter if you didn't enter it, as long as your ID and password matches we'll take it from there.

sry to interrupt the serious stuff, but how does pos work ? u have to encrypt and keep coins for 8 hours? do u have to run wallet online or u can shut it off?

You have to have the coins in your wallet for the minimum stake time, in this case 8 hours. Then the wallet has to be open and unlocked for the stake to generate. Basically you can look at it like your wallet is mining for the stake. If you have the wallet closed for a week when you open it and generate stake you get the stake for that time period unless it exceeds the maximum stake period.

The above is over simplified but gives you the basics. Hope it helps.

[[Edit]] The stake does not come in instantly, it is more like mining with the wallet but it will stake eventually.

How do I solo mine this

I don`t know but https://liberty.suprnova.cc/ is a very good and secure pool

Indeed, they have applied a fix to mpos, regular mpos will not play well with this coin.

http://libertycoin.co/draft-statament-regarding-the-alleged-scam-pools-and-the-people-asking-for-a-relaunch/

Nah the 24hash one, it's the only pool I mined XLB at I'm pretty sure, I mean I smoke a good amount of weed but I'm pretty damn positive I only mined one pool and that's the one I have bookmarked. I only mined for like an hour.

Show us the transaction...

If you are the scam pool's friend, ya then I am sure you got paid.
