@libertycoin please reconsider my proposed partnership with Freebiescoin. We have the necessary resources to take Libertycoin to the moon further than Cinni. Keep up the good work.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Important ANN:

As said on IRC, we had a conversation with one of our main developers in charge of implementing zerocoin. It appears we had a communication problem. He implemented Zerocoin into Libertycoin but today he said the following:

-He "implemented" it, but Zerocoin is not functional at the moment.
-Libertycoin has been prepared to activate it as soon as the Zerocoin team releases a more stable product.
-The current zerocoin implementation on Libertycoin will allow us to adopt that system easier than the rest of many other coins.
-Zerocoin will work on Libertycoin when the Zerocoin team releases a more stable version.

Regarding the Total coins:

- Unexpectedly, some proof-of-work blocks were replaced by proof-of-stake blocks before pow was over, so only 16.5 Million coins were created.
-Libertycoin is a lot more scarce now.
- You can see the total coins created here: http://libertycoin.co/supply/

Regarding the price fall:

- We are convinced today's dump was a very positive thing. Thanks to the users spreading FUD, we got rid of the weak hands and people who easily mined thousands of coins.
- Now Libertycoin has a better distribution thanks to the mechanics of the free market and the invisible hand.
- Thanks to the people dumping we managed to buy (with our own money) all the coins up to the 850 price. Coins that we will use for the creation of the Liberty Reserve Fund that will help paying for the further development of the coin.

The future:

- For the ones that have not noticed, there's not a single coin with 16.5M coins + 100% proof-of-stake + X11 trading at this price.
- In the Libertycoin team, we want to focus in to making Libertycoin a coin used in Real Life services and not just a coin for pure speculation.
- We are currently working with some members involved into the Bitcoin Foundation of a Latinamerican country (we will not say all the detailts yet) to create the first Fiat / Bitcoin exchange of that country, exchange that will include Libertycoin. It will bring a lot of press and buy volume to Libertycoin.
- We will continue working on Libertycoin. We promise you won't regret being part of this great community

Regards

What ?

There is no more Zerocoin 'stable version'. The Zerocoin project had ended.

Agree, i would not trust any coin that claiming to have Zerocoin implemented, both Libertycoin and Dreamcoin. There are 2 big downside on Zerocoin.

- Huge transaction size.
- Require trusted third party to generate initial security parameters then destroy it. Well, this destroy whole purpose of cryptocurrency: decentralization.

Anoncoin is first coin with Zerocoin, it seems they have successfully implemented Zerocoin, but i would not trust it either.

Indeed. But lack of communication from OP's side, is sh!t.

He served a product without even knowing what's going on.

People were asking questions, but he prefer to stay silent.

Lesson learnt.

I think dev don't even know how to make Zerocoin implementation to work smoothly, Zerocoin is only used as a PR tool to promote the coin.

OP is silent all day. DRM makes a press release, then this guy just basically makes a similar one.

and then says "pump". hahahahahhaha.

A. You lied about everything involving ZeroCoin.
B. You (or your dev) cannot set total coins or PoS/PoW correctly.
C. You have got to be kidding me.

and people, albeit very few people, are still buying.

My head is shaking. The altcoin community is lost.

Why do you even take the time to post if you are so 'over it'

Its semantics,  the OP implied zerocoin was here in XLB,  well guess what?  it is!  However its not functional (pending future code) so which is it?   Its got the libraries and seemingly is poised to work on it once more zerocoin code is released.

I appreciate the Dev keeping his mouth shut until some expertise showed up to clarify.   If he isn't a core programmer how does he know exactly what is or isn't going on.   Sometimes no response is better than the wrong one.   But in this community no response =  All the wrong ones.

Some people don't even care about zercoin, or would even prefer to avoid it.    I am in this camp!    I am just fine with ZC not being implemented for a LONG time.

Seriously...bashing dev about the total no. of coins?
Blackcoin was supposed to have 100 million after POW ended... they only created 74 after POW ended. Their devs are horrible too then. Everyone dump your BC... it's apparently garbage, guys.

Straight from Zerocoin's mouth:

The Zerocoin team is not currently working w/ any altcoin on implementations. We are working on getting the new zerocash protocol working...
The new zerocash protocol is faster & hides how much you transact, not just where it came from. We are presenting it at IEEES&P next Tuesday

XBL will not be adding zero anything to anything.
