I had same problem for AGES...

I don't know what fixed it, but I did this.

Deleted everything in Libertycoin.conf (capital L) except this:

Apart from the AppData copy, I also copied it to the directory where LibertyCoin exe was, and other directories inside that.

Relaunched, connected immediately!!!
