My miner just came in the mail today and all the parts look accounted for. I'll set it up in a few after some late lunch. I'll let you know how it hashes tomorrow when it's got some time to chug along and do any clerical troubleshooting that is required.

Please post an update on the HW error rate.  I still think not posting this "feature" on the product page is total bullshit.  These miners should be advertised as 13.5 Mh/s units.

Just to let you guys I'm still fiddling with it but so far the Raspberry Pi software needs more work. I can't get the LL to connect to anything through it but if I just connect the LL directly to my PC ( although I'm using a hub for it ) with the USB cable, like you would a jalapeno, it works just fine. So far it's chugging along without any problems and aside from the firmware not working everything is in order and of good quality. I am using the CGminer version that is available at the Hashra site and I've been solo mining to test it out but will go to a pool next in a few hours. I also appreciate the manufacturer doing "the paperclip thing" in advance with the power switch but make sure the factory people press it in all the way. It kept powering down on me until I realized that it was not pressed in all the way in.

I also get different messages like the pool had no credentials and the GUI will hang indefinitely until I close and reopened the browser every time I save, restart, or reboot. Plus, it seems to hate Firefox. I could only get it to load once with it and the rest of the time I had to use IE to access the dashboard. So unless it's user error it needs fixing but I spent quite a few hours trying to get it to work. But in the end, so long as it hashes I could always use a third party dashboard in the meantime.

I use chrome and it like that. you can upgrade to the latest firmware.

the trick to switching pools seems to be:

do a restart

wait a minute or two - then ssh to the pi and do a : sudo reboot

sometime I have to reboot several times before it kicks back in

actually in a previous post there's information about the HW errors being taken into consideration and you are really hashing at 14 MHS.

I get HW errors also but my reported hash by the pools is over 26 MH.

why would you need a mac? - they're supplied with a Pi rasberry that runs them.

don't worry - it's a no brainer to be honest.

you put the chip in it - plug it in - get it's ip address and point your web browser to that ip address and you control everything through a browser interface.

the only problem multiple people have experienced is the power supply cable that's included in the package for the pi - it pigtails off a power supply connection and several of us have found that it does not supply enough power for the pi to power up properly but fortunately the pi has the exact same power connector as an android type smart phone so we've all used that. This was found in the first batch - however Simon (Hashra) may have corrected that on the newer batch of machine that are shipping.

I don't have a good enough camera but it's very simple enough to set up via the instructions. There is nothing to install just plug in. Also, It's plug and play apparently so even if you don't know how to use the Raspberry Pi you don't need it to run the LL you just simply connect it directly to your PC via the USB cable it comes with. I'm going to have to wait for an update before I can use the controla unless there is a better version elsewhere since I'm having trouble with it at the moment. A note that I did have some USB software installed when I first got my Jalapeno so that might have made it plug and play off the bat with my PC.

As to me testing it out on a pool I'm getting the expected 13.5 to 15 MHs that I expected. So aside from the controla problem everything is working well here. A thing to note that the CGminer from Hashra is reporting double that Hash rate for some reason but then again I did fiddle with some of the startup settings for CGminer to fine tune it so that might be doing it.

You'd need a WiFi dongle for the Pi itself. I plan on getting one later on and getting it connected.

What are you using to power your Pi?  Quite often lack of power to the Pi can give weird results.  When I used the cable that came with it, the NIC would not power up.  Just grab a micro usb phone charger that outputs at least 1A (1000mA) and that will be sufficient.  Don't be concerned if the charger output's greater than 1A as the Pi will only draw what it needs.  Voltage on the other hand is a different matter, micro USB phone chargers output 5v, just make sure if you decide to use any other power source that it is only 5v, and that the 5v is steady.

Also which miner do you have?  As it appears from the support page that there is different firmware for the Lunar Lander and Lunar Launcher, so it's worth double checking that you are running the correct version by downloading the correct one from the support website and flashing it to a new SD card.  Think you only need a 4Gb card, but I generally use 8gb ones with my Pi's.

yes - the power cable that comes with the Pi rarely works. You'll know it's not working if the link light on your hub does not light up - all the lights in the Pi should be lit brightly. I got the first Hashra unit in the U.S. and I found this out immediately. fortunately for me I had a spare pi and I had a spre power cable for an android because I needed one for each of my Hashra units.

I'm using the USB power connecter that it comes with so it's directly connected to my PSU with does have enough power for the unit but I will try a phone charger next. My PSU is a CorsairTX750. The construction does look makeshift and I did have the earlier problem with the power switch so it's not out of the question that it could be a minor assembly issue. I would do this - assuming you have ssh

ssh to the Pi once it's up and running login using pi/controla

then do this : "tail -f /var/log/syslog" and report those results to support@hashra.com - Their support guy is great and can help you determine the problem -  though if you're using one of their 28 mh units you don't have enough power to the miner.

Mine draws 960 watts on the killawatt meter. for the 14mh unit you should be fine with the 750w psu - make sure you're not plugging all 8 pins either - only plug in the 6 pin pcie connector not the additional 2 pin connector on the pcie.

I actually do have all four PCIE connection slots plugged in with 6 pin PCIEs. The directions didn't say to only use two and one could only assume that since it came with four you must use all four. I'm going to try that right now unless you are warning me to not 8 pin PCIEs and I am just misunderstanding? Either way, thank you very much for the information.

For informational purposes, what specific kinds of problems could I expect having all four PCIE connections being used if that is not to be done with the 14 MHs version?

The only problem I'm getting is when I'm solo mining I'll get some good hash rates at first but then it will progressively slow down within 10 minutes or so. My understanding is that by design you were meant to use the miner via a Raspberry Pi so that may be causing the hash rate to go down during solo mining. As a note, when I first started solo mining with my Antminer S1 I had to adjust the settings to accommodate the miner before the solo mining hash rate was to my liking and doing similar adjusting is getting me longer solo mining sessions with this unit so it could just be a matter of finding the magic numbers I require.

the instructions say to only use 6 of the 8 pins.

do not use the extra 2 pins that would normally connect to a GPU board (the little 2 pin plug - do not plug that into the back of the Hashra unit)

Alright, I see. Then I do have it all plugged up correctly pin wise. I'm using only the 6 PCIE pins but I have all four sockets in back of the unit plugged in with one. I misunderstood, it's late. My question really is that the store page says: "Power Connection: 2 x PSU 6 PIN PCIE Sockets" and I want to know if I have all four sockets plugged in will that cause any kind problem down the road?

Also, I noticed that the name changed from Lander to Launcher from earlier. And I used the Lander instructions available within support to set up my unit. The instructions said that the "lander" series has 128 chips but the original settings within the miner said 64. Since those are the "lander" instructions and this a "launcher" does that chip count still apply? I just rechecked the store page and it says: "2 x MINI HASHRA APOLLO MODULES (64 Chips in total)" So I can only assume that instructions on the support page needs to be updated for a launcher.
