Hi all,

just to give you an update:

I'm just preparing a new Wallet release. This will be the first mandatory update. It will be available within the next couple of days. Besides other stuff an important security issue is fixed. Detailed release notes will be available at release time.

Builds for all supported operation systems will be available at the release date, which will be announced soon.

Also, I was in contact with SmartAction yesterday and he told me he is making good progress with his efforts. Please see here: http://forum.fair-coin.org/index.php?topic=13.0 (I'm not sure if this document reflects the current status exact, but it's a good start to read).

Next week we try to organize a meeting, where we discuss the further steps. We'll let you know the results immediately.

And remember: we have steady growth and long term evolution in mind. So, please be patient and stay tuned.

That would just be silly and a waste of money... Seriously...

Personally I think we're doing quite well actually :-)

We have:
- still a relatively rare coin (just 50.000.000+ coins)
- a really nice wallet in available for three major OS'es
- a network that is slowly but surely generating blocks
- a lovely place to exchange coins
- an development team that shares ideas on a regular basis.

Only the community is somewhat quiet

- still a relatively rare coin (just 50.000.000+ coins)
- a really nice wallet in available for three major OS'es
- a network that is slowly but surely generating blocks
- a lovely place to exchange coins
- an development team that shares ideas on a regular basis.

Network is really slow, it took me hours to transfer coins to exchange.
I would love to see something happen here. I guess the biggest problem
is to find the right bitcointalk-thread since there're a couple of FAC threads....
Is it possible to delete or deactivate old FAC threads?!

yes, you are right. Currently we are experiencing huge gaps between the minted blocks from time to time. This issue is also addressed in the next wallet release.

@All, regarding the FairCoin thread: there are a some threads, yes. But you see immediately which one is old and which is current, by looking at the last post date. I believe this is the only thread with recent posts. We have tried to get control of the original thread. The sole success we had was that the old thread was closed. Unfortunately, there is no way to convince the bitcointalk moderators to be delete or change ownership of threads, too bad.

Anyway, If one goes to http://fair-coin.org/ you should be able to find the right thread really quick.

On Tuesday, I think, we're having a team meeting, where we discuss the further steps. After that we will announce the release schedule of the new release and inform you about any other important things that were discussed.

Hi all,

as SmartAction already stated, it was a great meeting. Good stuff is in preparation! 

About the wallet: I'm in the process of distributing the release candidate to the developers. If all goes well, the new wallet will be publicly available by this weekend.

The hard fork will take place at block 15555. This will be around Thursday (17th of July) next week.

After block 15555 old wallets will not be able to synchronize to the network, this is a mandatory update.

The exact release time will be announced by tomorrow.

This is a hard fork release (@block 15555) (planned about thursday!). Please update your wallet immediately. If you do not update you won't be able to sync to the network and you even might loose coins.

- added new checkpoint and activated synchronous checkpointing
- re-activated mining for the following algos: grøstl, scrypt and sha256
  remember this is NOT a PoW coin but PoS, if you mine this coin you only supports the network.
  The reward is only 10 satoshis
- unlock wallet menu item and unlock wallet button (to easily start minting blocks)
- updated to Qt5
- testnet optimizations

i noted this:

Generated coins must mature 25 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.



maturation time for spending was reduced in this wallet version ? or i missed something.
