Hi all,
I have some good new and some bad news.
The good news:Block 15555 has been reached, the network runs as expected, users are updating their wallets and FairCoin has transitioned into it's new phase where the development team has full control over all built in security features:
- Sync-Checkpoints
- Network-Alert system to notify users of important issues (see here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Alerts)
- Supportive mining with the energy efficient myriad-grøstl algorithm as well as the well known scrypt and sha256
All wallets for all operating systems are available and work as expected. With one exception.
The not so good news:Supportive mining is not working at this time because of a bug in the transaction checks which do not allow such a tiny reward amount of only 0.00001FAC. All mined blocks (
not the staked blocks) are currently rejected.
Transparency is very important to us and this is why we do communicate promptly and exactly what happened. Therefore I have opened an issue at github every body can look at:
https://github.com/FairCoinTeam/fair-coin/issues/3The bad news:To fix this bug
another hard fork is necessary. There is a team meeting taking place shortly where we will decide about the further steps.
We will keep you up-to-date frequently.
I want emphasize one more time:
the network is safe and works as before.regs
Thomas
