if everything runs the same with the new r-box as it does with the older smaller r-box, you shouldn't have any trouble running 6 or more. i have the raspberry pi model B+ and 5 of the older r-box ( 32- 37) and i have all 5 plugged into the blackarrow break out board (which supposedly can handle up to 10 of the older r-boxes but it actually looks like it can handle more )and running off a 7 port powered usb hub.  the hub is only plugged into one of the USB ports on the raspberry pi. still have 3 left to plug more stuff in.

I do not know how the new r-boxes plug into the breakout boards. but i'm assuming you can run at least 6 , maybe 8 off one board depending on the board you have. and plug them all into a powered USB hub. and then plug that hub into the raspberry pi.

depending on the model of Raspberry pi you have, you'll either have 2 usb ports on it or 4. so you should be able to repeat the above hardware config as many times as you have usb ports on your raspberry pi. So based on the numbers and enough power and breakout boards to handle them all. you shouldn't have any issues running 12 - 32 ( depending on Pi model)of them off a raspberry pi if it can handle that many USB devices running at once.  i don't know what the max is the Pi will recognize.

i haven't seen a good description of how to run the raspberry pi off a breakout board yet. so i keep it under its own power using an ac adapter. same with the powered hub.

next month i plan to order 2 of the new R-boxes off you crazy guy. from everything i've seen, you have the best prices around.

I believe the Pi will see each chip on the miner as a device. Each common USB hub will have either one or two chips of its own. Most USB Hubs utilize 1 IC for 4-5 ports/channels and a second IC if it has 6-10 ports/channels. I believe the New R-Box 100 GH/s has 11 or 12 chips. If you ask cgminer to list all devices it will break down the R-Box into RMU 0,RMU 0a-RMU 0j, for a single miner box. The Pi's have a difficult time when handling maximum numbers of USB devices. Hence the reason Rockminer says to provide an additional Pi for every 8 R-Box miners.

If you are using Rockminer's breakout board, it comes with a connector made specifically for powering the RPi off of their breakout board. If you are using the Black Arrow breakout board, it has 2 5v outs. What I've done with my controller is strip one side of a usb mini cable, and screw the red wire into the positive terminal and black wire into the negative on the BA board.

You can also solder the power feed directly to the back of the Pi if you want and save your usb cables. Also works great directly from the 5v off an ATX PSU.

If you are using Rockminer's breakout board, it comes with a connector made specifically for powering the RPi off of their breakout board. If you are using the Black Arrow breakout board, it has 2 5v outs. While the current cost in $$/GH is better than last June, the Watts/GH are pretty much the same. This is essentially a re-packaging, without any technology change over the "Late May Rbox".

it's also much cheaper.  1 of these costs around the same as 2 of the smaller r-boxes but is essentially 3+ .     3 small ones not overclocked give me a speed of 97.5 gh/s and costs $180+ if you can even find them for that price.   1 of these gives you 100 gh/s minimum and costs  109.99 from asicpuppy.  Originally i was planning to buy 10 of the smaller r-box's to connect to my 500 watt PS. but that would eventually add up to a cost of atleast $600 not to mention the heat 10 of those things will give off.

for $440 i can get 4 of these and end up with 400 gh/s instead of 325 gh/s and an extra $160 in my pocket

        ' it ' is somewhat correct.  It is the same chip in a better design that extracts more hash at a higher freq.

  These will safely clock to freq 350  the old round gear does not.

 These run with 2 fans and will do 128-130 gh.  you need 1 usb cord 1 pcie cord

 3 rounds maxed at 111gh.  you need 3 usb cords and 1 pcie cord with a 3 dc plug adapter.

You really can't hit the fan blades with this one.

the biggest 'same' is power usage  these are just a shade better.     1.05  watt per gh vs 1.1 watt per gh

That means: don't buy these unless you have a power workaround…

You'll have to estimate shipping through the website.

1 RPi can control 2 X2 units, or 8 boards. Rockminer and BTCGarden both use customized versions of cgminer 4.3.3, but the source code for BTCGarden is not available. You could place a rockminer cgminer build on a BTCGarden image, but you'll need need to run 2 instances of cgminer to control your rockminer and BTCGarden devices. I'm not sure how stable that would be but it's worth a shot.

That is good news. There were some major changes to the icarus drivers in 4.3.4, which would explain why it has taken so long to get integrated into the latest build.

I Hope they do it soon, I am about to order a couple more Rockminers and would feel a bit  more confident about the purchase if I could see that Rockminer was trying to at the very least stay current with the available Mining Software.

okay the r-box I ordered on ebay with my ebay discount came. now running 3 of these.  all on freq 350

using rasp pi programmed by crazy guy.    I get about 387gh at 420 watts using a seasonic 760 watt plat psu.

they are nice units quiet. if you have the right circumstances these are good gear to use.
