There's no issues with the coin now to my knowledge, and the dev endeavored to fix issues when they existed.
Innovation usually comes with a price, that price is bugs, trying something new, will generally result in issues.

What this coin didn't have was, and is marketing, it's relatively unknown on exchanges besides BTER, we need to get on Poloniex or Mintpal to get anywhere.

We dont have enough marketing to create enough volume...

Unknown future!

Unknown indeed... Sad. Innovative coin but incompetent dev. MYR reloaded. Couple more hours of mining and i'm out.

You need look no further than this POS for this coins lack of success. (and no, POS does not mean proof of stake when referring to this person.)
Someone that calls the dev incompetent, an idiot, stupid, retarded obviously has an agenda.
This individual's agenda seems to be to scare everyone off the coin to then mine as many of the coins as he can.
Spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) is a tactic used in the crypto world to cause panic selling and the price of this coin is artificially low due to this tactic.
Unfortunately this coin has had some growing pains and the dev has been forced to fix the wallet and relaunch a few times.
If you go back and read this thread, this person has gone out of his way to help the dev relaunch and mine at a lower difficulty then in the next breath says he's retarded.
How many times will this person threaten to stop mining this coin before he actually does? The answer is unknown because he never actually leaves.
This coin shows real innovation and the dev should be commended for creating a coin that actually is doing something different and new.
Congratulations for actually sticking with your vision and fixing the problems that came up. I wish you success with your coin. It's a true original.

+1

If primer was gone, & the whole community banded together to help market Slimcoin, we would explode. We need more marketing to create the type of trading volume bigger exchanges want when adding coins...

A professionally designed logo/coin would do wonders to the price!

WE ALSO NEED A BLOCK EXPLORER! I WOULD MAKE ONE MYSELF IF I KNEW HOW ]:

There should be at least two people working on a block explorer, the dev and a third party who only accidentally landed here; but the latter reported an issue that needs to be addressed first.  In due time Smiley

NICE! If you know the dev personally, please tell him to make a road map!

We need more input from him on future developments to create & maintain forward momentum!

That's proof of stake, there should be a "burn coins" tab, can't access the wallet atm to confirm, but should be something like that. Just choose amount to burn, and click the burn button.
If you have more than 20 burned, you'll probably occasionally gain 0.1 coins or so from it like I do.
It's not worth it unless you've bought a decent amount.

0.1 coins you talk about are not PoB but PoS or a GUI error.

Thanks! I bought 2K worth from bter, and that's one of my main questions. How many should I burn to have a chance, and how often do i have to burn to keep the process going? I assume after a while you burn through all your coins and stop proof-of-burning.

Also, is it possible to use 'setgenerate true = -1' in the qt client and still get coins from POW?

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I was reading this thread for a while and couldn't find a simple quick start post.

Best bet is to burn a good chunk (50% to 100%). I'm currently burning 100% of my coins to obtain one PoB block each other day (i don't have much burnt coins, about 330).

Solo mining (e.g. setgenerate true -1) isn't profitable anymore, being impossible to generate a block out of it. I recommend you to use slimminer with a pool.
