Why would anyone would invest in a coin where there is 20% inflation every month? And as we have seen so far inflation caused collapse of the prices and that dumper Dev as well. Now you come and say you will keep same inflation, myself as an investor i stopped buying TAC only bcos of this and as you can see people here complaining i'm not alone. This is that simple.
you use the word 'inflation' as if its bad - it's just increasing the supply. If you don't do that, there won't be any coins. We had this 'inflation' since the start (even more) and that got us to > $500k market cap before the issue of 'infinite supply' took hold and dumped the price same as HVC. Now we are removing the infinite supply and setting 'inflation' to nearly half what is was 3 months ago so what's your point? i think anyone with half a brain can see that last 3 months despite of features and developments, price fell 80-90%(from average of 4-5k to 500-600 satoshi). 3 Months ago we had smthing like 3M coins, now the demand is almost dead(no serious buyers in exchanges) we have 9M coins and you want to keep the speed of production of supply as its before, this doesn't make sense. This way, you will lose current investors as well they will dump their coins instead of buying more. They never listen. Stop producing coins, this WONT CREATE DEMAND. Cut the supply and START ADDING FEATURES to keep MINING PROFITABLE with LOW INFLATION. That's how CRYPTO WORKS. LIMITED AMOUNT+ADDING FEATURES. More to be mined = more to be dumped. High block reward won't attract anyone. Low block reward ain't evil, high block reward won't cause miracles to happen. Are you mining the coin right now ? Are you planning to mine it ? How much hashing power will you put on it to support the network (now, tomorrow in a week, in a month later on ?) How much TAC will you still have in 2 weeks after the take over (assuming the coin peak ?). That's the question you should answer.
Yes. Yes. Same as always. Same amount. I will more likely keep mining it if supply will be cut and profitability will be higher, like it was someday(due to adding features causing price growth). K-meister,
My team mates dealt with your points already and I support them 100%.
It's natural for some investors in this situation to think if they can chop off supply and get rich quick. The problem is new investors and miners aren't that stupid. Stupid meaning mental capacity of a moldy potato.
Anyway, playtime is over. Please let the grown-ups continue busting a nut all day trying to rejuvenate this coin with a realistic long term plan to rebuild all our investments through delivering value and a secure, decentralized and anonymous communication service people are going to want to use.
Please let me know how your takover goes.
cheers
Andy
No need to be rude, Andy. Read thread, everyone support the idea of cutting supply. You and your mates better listen to what community wants and deliver features. He is not trying to takeover, what he is trying to say is "please cut the inflation" with kind of aggresive "or I will take over this!", but that's not the point. Before this, community asked about removing block reward vote, TEAM didn't listen(even tho you created a POLL and reacted like "whatever, we won't remove it anyway"). Everyone can see the consequences, dif drop 10x, price drop 20x. It was one of the most profitable coins, now it's one of the most non-profitable. Besides, other problems are: everything is going way too slow for cryptoworld; lack of PR. I wish this coin live and prosper, make your decisions and act, but decide wisely. Last time you didn't listen community, things went bad. Need to clarify this - the poll was created by me and the team and not the core dev. It was our way to try to push him to listen to the community. We spent a week trying to get the dev to tell us what features he was working on and what was coming next. I made the poll to try to get him to agree. He ignored the poll and every message we sent about it with him included on it, and still didn't tell us what he was working on. Behind the scenes I actually resigned at that point but 2 weeks later I rejoined when the dev said he was 'thinking' about changing voting. He never did, and instead told us 'all features are now finished' and went awol. Then people started saying about the dev fund so we checked this out and found out its true and was being hidden from us. That is when we decided to 'takover', except its not really a takover because we were already here and the dev wasn't because he just went awol. We are removing the voting because people said unanimously that letting users decide the block reward was a bad thing....which is ironic because the last few pages on this thread are now saying the community should decide the block reward Ppl comment but most haven't really paid attention to what had been happening and who did what.. While i can agree the voting isn't the best of ideas ( even tho .. ) we saw each time the block reward was super low that ppl lost interest and stopped mining. Actually interest dropped once the reward ended up around 15 compared to the higher reward before. Wonder why huh ? And not everyone support the idea of cutting the supply. I have been mining , buying and holding some of this coin since it was at around 10k, and i intend to keep doing so especially since the first dev is being dropped. I just don't see how ppl think cutting the supply will solve anything price wise. Having an halving in a couple months yes. Doing it now is pointless. The coin need to be attractive to miners too to raise interest / raise volume ( at first anyway ). If your coin isn't mined it mean it isn't attractive enough to be mined.. If we drop the reward to 5 a block it is only going to push the miners away. Establishing a new clean base , building features , THEN shutting the supply down the line in increment is a much better idea than the other way around. And again lets not forget coins are to be destroyed ''for real'' now when features will be used , if the new development is good enough the coin will succeed that is all there is to it. All this talk of the supply is just annoying and taking away some interesting talk that could happen like someone mentioning a dating site and all that earlier. Every altcoin is useless until they have a real use .. just look at Cann lately, real world use in the work, it is building interest and price rising on its own slowly .. and the supply isn't being cut and it will and already have MUCH more coins than TAC will ever have even with the current supply schedule.

I don't say block voting works , heavycoin didn't work because the dev never did anything out of the coin and kinda dropped it a couple months ago. Its another topic anyway .. but i don't think any coin that had a voting system didn't work only because of the voting .. But because they didn't offer anything else. But would be nice to see the topic change to something more interesting than coin supply.

Dear Talkcoiners, For the record, we the team did not know about the dev fund or dev fund voting system and we think this was just the dev who was the original creator of Talkcoin and has been controlling the project up to this point. The dev kept the core functions to himself and although the fund is mentioned on the old thread we didn't see that it was implemented or know about the -votedev command. We are not against the existence of a fund because the dev needed to pay a lot of TAC out to fund the project, but we are against the secrecy in how this was hidden and operated secretly without telling the rest of the team and the community. We started crisis meetings on IRC recently and audited the core code with help from Peter Bushnell from Feathercoin and confirmed setup of the fund and some other issues which will be explained separately. These concerns are also happening at a time when the dev has said to us that all the main features are now finished and he won't be around much so we still don't know what the roadmap is, if anything. The dev is rarely active in the forum and in contacting the team so mostly developers are sitting idle and we have no visibility on what is coming so we're not able to promote it either. We all think the dev is good at development and he created a great concept with Talkcoin but we don't believe that the secrecy, lack of communication and lack of leadership are going to enable Talkcoin to succeed in the market going forward. For that reason and because we believe in the future of Talkcoin, the team have agreed unanimously to takeover the running of Talkcoin effective immediately, for the benefit of our investors, miners, and the community. This thread will continue to be the official thread as will our Twitter and Facebook. We are designing a new website at talkcoin.info and created a new Github that will be the official Talkcoin sourcecode repo going forward. The first step we decided is to release a new wallet (version 2.0.0) that cleans out the issues found in the core code, which Peter Bushnell has been developing. We are testing this release on testnet on Friday (29th) and if all goes smoothly we'll upload the release version on Saturday (30th). This will be a mandatory update that will hardfork on a future block # that we decide based on testnet result and to give everyone enough time to update. We also believe the voting system creates uncertainty for investors and undermines the most important use of the coin as a store of value so we all agreed on removing voting in the next release. When the hardfork is released, block reward will be fixed at the current reward and then halve every 1.5m blocks, with a hardcap of 48m TAC, to be mined over the next 5 years. This means the ~8m TAC already mined will be ~15% of the total future supply and block reward will stay at the current level until the first block halving in 1.5m blocks, as follows: We decided also to keep the dev fund but fix it at 3% to ensure there are going to be funds available to operate, develop and promote Talkcoin effectively for investors going forward, except now this will be visible to the community as will all of our operations and the Talkcoin roadmap, which we are finalizing and will announce once the hardfork is implemented. We have been in touch with the pools already and we will contact the exchanges now so everyone will be on the correct version for the hardfork. If you agree with what we are thinking for Talkcoin, please support us as we release the new version and get Talkcoin back on track. We have an exciting roadmap for Talkcoin we are working on, and we now have a team in control that has the freedom to implement it and grow Talkcoin into a leading digital currency. Please join us and help us achieve that together and as a team! Thanks The Talkcoin Team: TalkTeam - Project Manager djm34 - Lead Developer Bushstar - Core Development Consultant crz - Graphic Design / Branding karimdr2 - System Administrator / IT Architect Nyterax - Marketing and Promotions AizenSou - Investor / Technical Analyst Ignition75 - Investor / Business Development qutie exciting news, why not open a new thread? That would be neat.

Add these to a talkcoin.conf file in your roaming/talkcoin folder: addnode=erebor.dwarfpool.com addnode=moria.dwarfpool.com New release has correct seed node hardcoded, above is quick fix for next few days if you have a new wallet.

As a large Talkcoin holder I think the Devs need to get ahead of the curve on this announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=762346To be a part of this would be huge for TAC. I know James is only looking for coins that can add something new and unique, but I think TAC qualifies in that regard with its messaging system. Being an early member of this SuperNode would put TAC on the map in an entirely new way. I have been an active member of the Nxt community for a year and James is the real deal. One of the best crypto devs (maybe the most innovative) in the business. Please take a look at what is being put together here.
