All message is publicly available on blockchain, so there is no private chat.
Users need to spend coins in order to send messages, so this is not a free chat client/network.
Messages also be delayed because it need confirmation time just like transactions.
Seriously who on earth would use such "chatting software" ?
People should focus on making better crypto currency, not trying to implement everything to it.
Hi - like someone else said, we are working on encrypted messages. Also for full anonymity right now you can use Tor proxy: https://github.com/talkcoin/talkcoin-wallet/blob/master/doc/Tor.txtRegarding use of Talkcoin, we think there is a lot of untapped potential in crypto communications actually - for example you and I are communicating now about cryptos on a messaging system right? People are already advertising in the chat, asking other users for help, delay is less than 20 seconds but on this forum delay can be anything - our mission is to innovate new ways to chat / communicate using crypto, why not?

Atleast this coin can be used for something, right away. Can you tell that about 99% of the other coins on this forums? Exactly.

Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:23)
Certainly not all coins will be used for chatting and voting. Some are for holding and some are for trading.
 asking (5.6.2014 21:23)
it would be cool if one part of this goes to the miners as a fee too?
 Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:27)
Yeah, I'd like to see that too. It would be a good way to supplement miners' income during periods of low block reward.
Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:30)
Maybe as block reward gets lower, miners' share of chat and vote fees gets higher...?
Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:32)
Dev team could decide on a proper percentage so they can still be getting a good cut of the fees.
Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:37)
I think making this one change could prevent a large wave of future negativity. I think that ideas from above conversation should be implemented. Chat is not free, it's not to make money, it's to limit spams/abuse, same thing with the voting system. There is no moderation, it's p2p. It will be redistributed in p2p games (in developpement).

IT's a bounty of 1000 TAC for the person than make a website that shows exactly how many coins are mined. Whitout that is hard to know... But beetwen 2500000-2800000
