Personally I think it's building a base. 20 hours sideways now.
I should know. I haven't blinked.
"Building base" at no volume.. N'ah. Not everyone has even seen or analyzed the carnage of yesterday. They will decide to lift it up or continue down soon. It needs a reset.

As long as my credit is good, I am a buyer long past the point of despair. When I start to feel the fear and depression, I cheer myself up by buying more. I take some amphetamine and a shot of whiskey, if that's what it takes.
It would mean a very great decline in coin price, reasonably below 0.0025 or even in the post-introduction low area of ~0.0018. This won't happen (if at all) until BTC goes for $1000 or higher. Historically, right after BTC hits new highs is when the alts finally bottom out. I'm calling a test of 0.004 short term

"Building base" at no volume.. N'ah.
My notion is that the constant selling has disappeared because marginal miners are no longer profitable. Buyers need time to clean-up.

Anyone know what happened on HitBTC yesterday?
I bought a bunch of XMR at about .00375 put in sopme sell orders in the .0042-.0048 range wake up this morning and they were all filled?
Looks like some trades went through at .08 on HitBTC yesterday but doesn't seem like the same price was even remotely close on the other exchanges . . . now do I buy back in at .00365 or hold out for Risto's predicted collapse . . . .

looks like maybe one person just hit the wrong number on the keypad. 63 Monero were sold at 0.08 Definitely an all time high for Monero right in the middle of a large downswing. Jeez that guy must be mad at himself right now!

Lucky man Great price to buy in Monero after this correction, double bottom and still cheap! I bought a nice bag at 34.6 average. I think 39-40 is just a question of hours...

@rpietila and others, what do you consider as a buy-zone for monero? Was thinking about placing some orders in the 0.004-0.0043 range. There is pretty much support at 0.004 and 0.0039, also fibonacci retracement levels are at 0.00406 and 0.00447 (This is based on the last runup from 0.023 to 0.058).
The 61.8% level is also on 0.00365, that is a possibility also. All-time volume weighted average price is 0.00426. All things considered, if you want to buy it, just do it at any price below 0.0045. The chances of breaking 0.004 are so slim that it is not worth the 10% gain achievable. This advice is valid if your intention is to hold. I don't give daytrading advice. At first thanks for the advice! As you have stated above, the chance of breaking 0.004 is very slim so I think it won't even reach 0.00365. Setting my buy orders around 0.0042-0.0043. My intention is not to day trade but to hold, but I want a good entry point. Here we go in slim-chance scenario LOL

Here we go in slim-chance scenario LOL Seem to be creeping our way back out of it now. In general my instincts from other markets tend to underestimate the extrema. I think it is because the momentum factor plays a larger role in crypto. People can get really crazy before the fundamentals pull them back to reality. XMR price attractor is 2.5% higher today than it was yesterday. Not sure what price it is attracted to, but on average, that number, whatever it is, is going up 2.5% daily.

Monero to 0.1 when?
I think this (and beyond) is very likely if BTC loses steam. Monero has solidified its position as the #2 coin (note: shares don't count), and it is the natural successor. The scenario that would dethrone BTC, is its lacking privacy, and XMR has fixed exactly that. Without problems with BTC, I think the network effects favor that one so that 0.1 is a little too ambitious for Monero, similarly as Litecoin has never reached better than 0.03 except for a moment. Solidified its position? What are you basing this on? It being anonymous?

PoS coins with 1,00000 features aren't a currency, there more like toys. XMR gives the privacy that a currency should have(like cash) along with the good that blockchain tech gives(no central authority).

I may be honestly wrong (luckily it's not my demise because I am too big to heed to my own advice) but that sounds like witchcraft to me..

VWAP is probably the best estimator of the current attractor. Or maybe a lagged EMA of VWAP. Does that make it sound more like science? I was using language from chaos theory. An attractor is a region of phase space to which a chaotic trajectory asymptotes.

Even with a full-orchestra of pumpers, nonstop advertising on this website and now a whole array of XMR-backed trading pairs on its official homepage (Poloniex), Monero's still been going down in value for the last month and a half..
The trendline is negative, not positive.
But great job XMR whales, this is the best-conceived scam I've seen so far.
I have to tip my hat to you. Getting XMR trade pairs on Poloniex was brilliant maneuvering.
