but linking one wallet that cointains at least 1k XCs to an email address is somehow counter productive in my opinon as we use a privacy centric currency

I understand the concern that verifying ownership of 1000XC may dampen the privacy of one's holdings, but do keep in mind that verifying is entirely optional. This is only required if you wish to have access to the private group for verified XC holders.

Can anyone think of ways that privacy could be maintained while still meeting the requirements for verification?

Maybe one could sign up for an email account with hushmail (using TOR even) just to sign up for Slack. One could send 1000XC to a fresh wallet address (on the TOR stick .ISO maybe) using anon transactions to achieve even greater privacy. Then don't log in to the hushmail account for 3 weeks and it'll disappear into the abyss. You'll still be able to log in to Slack (as long as you remember your login info) and I will have what I need to make sure that whoever is using your username on Slack continues to own 1000XC.

Something is wrong with their vote tallying. Dan has been receiving votes but the Twitter votes are not being included.

Coins Source has been notified but they do not seem inclined to fix it.

Personally, I see little value in this vote. You need a social media account to participate in it, which from square one limits the sample pool.

I see it as a measure of nothing more than a given coin's community's level of motivation in maximizing their vote count, which is not at all a primary factor in defining the success or vitality of a given project.

i dont think so  Sad
still holding all my coins
wanna see a screenshot?

So you have faith in the coin, (and therefore also in the ability of the dev's to deliver on promises), yet you still troll and call it a scam?

Is it a mental issue, or are you just a prick?
newworldcoiner ...it's the oldest trick in the book. it's what pumper and dumpers like mchammer do ...they want to buy as cheaply as possible so they try to drag down investor interest with a lot of fud, then they pump it (and we know xc has a LOT of room to pump) under another alias on twitter ...aund zhen

XC is not officially dead.

It was simply always overblown hype.  People believed in something that couldn't be reviewed ... and the devs hyped something behind closed doors that didn't exist.

Still blown away at the money raised for blocknet before open sourcing the code.

Cargo Cultists don't care about pilots, wing span, or propellers.  For them, such technology is sufficiently advanced to be congruent with magic.

Same deal with the Closed Source Cults.  They don't need to see the code, so great is their faith in their High Priest Dev.

If High Priest Dev says goodies are coming, they will dance around waving their hands in the air and chanting boogah-boogah.

I was talking to my buddy Bob Saccamano the other day and he gave me a picture and had a story for me !
He claimed that Bitcointalk was extorting users and posted a screen cap of proof.
Best i can tell the picture is legit and Bob *seemed to be honest about it all..
So don't crucify me for what he said i am just saying what i heard and i want to know if this is confirmed as fact.

Here is the screen cap i was given..

edit:
i am being blocked ever time i try and add the picture Sad
i have tried 3 hosters so far and all failed..
going to try changing the picture from a 3mb png to jpeg to get it shared Wink

use imgur - it seems to work good.

and yes - if you spread evil they extort you before you can register a new user.  I once did something to make a point by using the user J|777 vs Jl777 and offered to take people's money.  After that I had to send like .37c worth of bitcoin to bitcointalk (even though my scam probably was less harmful to bitcoin community as a joke than the serious one)

YEP that's the one.  pretty smart - make bad guys pay money

Thanks man

I have not being able to properly sync my wallet for a week now.

It always shows downloading 14000ish blocks and i leave my wallet open for up to 8 hours try to sync with network.

When I reopen wallet, it shows that I'm downloading 14000ish block again. it just never finishes sync.

I have tried re-install my wallet. and also replace blkindex.dat file. But nothing works.

have anybody else have this problem or anybody knows how to fix it ?

Thank you guys

Did you have a series of small stakes come in right as your wallet went out of sync? We have been helping people with sync issues in Slack and it seems that sometimes the client starts staking before it is synced and ends up on its own fork. It could be an issue with POS itself, not just with XC. Regardless, Dan is aware of the issue and working on a fix.

Unfortunately, the only solution after it happens is to delete everything but your wallet.dat and start over. Transfer your wallet.dat to your desktop or some other folder for safe keeping. Then delete the /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder and re-install the wallet and resync the blockchain. It is very likely that you will need to exit the client and relaunch it several times as it redownloads the blockchain. It is not uncommon for it to stall out.

I had this happen to me also.  After deleting the files and letting the wallet sync, I had to run the "repairwallet" command in the debug window to get back the coins that were staked without being synced.

This can be done in the debug console in your wallet. Open your wallet and go to Help >> Debug Window >> Console and type in "repairwallet" without the quotes.

Thanks you guys very much.

Yes. This is exactly what happened to my wallet. It has a series of small stakes come in right as my wallet went out of sync.

So all i have to do is
1. backup my wallet.dat
2. delete the whole thing
3. re-intall the xc wallet.
4. let the wallet re-sync correctly

I'm not sure about the following steps.
5. copy the wallet.dat back to  /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder  ?
6. open debug window console and "repairwallet" without the quotes ?
7. then what to do ? does the my old balance just reappear or is there other step to follow?

Please help me clearify the last 3 steps.

Thank you guys again

When you backup your wallet.dat you will do so by moving it out of the /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder onto your desktop or another temporary folder. Once your wallet client has redownloaded the blockchain and is fully synced, you will close the wallet client and move your wallet.dat from your temporary folder back to /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency. Then relaunch the wallet. It's possible that your coins that had been staking will not show at first, so go to 'Help'-->'Debug window'. In the debug window you will see two tabs: information & console. Go to the 'console' tab and enter 'repairwallet' into the text field and press 'enter'. You should see a message return that says something about your retrieved coins. Close the debug window and all of your coins will be intact.

Thank you again. ya I got all my coins back. The wallet is normal and funtional now.

Wow. What is up with price?

Why is it continuing to trend down? New lows every week. This can't just be fud. There is no volume either. Where is the bottom?

Any XC team members have insight, news, and optimism to share from slack?
Whales are keeping the price low so they can accumulate.

Guess you havent been on slack recently talking to the team and the rest of the community because your statement couldnt be more wrong. There is plenty of buy support, myself and many others are and will continue to accumulate, but most are waiting for a trend reversal.

The XC team and community has moved to slack, and its been pretty amazing. I'd love to see even more people over there, there is a lot of work being done and we've been able to help Dan iron out some bugs as well. It's much easier to help test updates and interact when everyone is on slack.

Surely you know that Bittrex has the option to place conditional orders?

Thus, one can never assume that the buy support visible on the books is an accurate representation of available buy support.

I use conditional orders all the time. All the skilled traders do.

And to clarify this for all, the BTC/altcoins collected during the Blocknet ITO are stored at the following addresses:

http://wiki.blocknet.co/index.php/Addresses_of_Blocknet_Assets

No one has 'skipped to the bank'. All funds, minus the expenditures approved thus far, are in tact and ready to be spent as laid forth during the ITO.

IMO XC is crashing/dead because of blocknet.

The other example is one of BC dev published bitbay. BC is crashing because of bitbay.

HAHA!!!!  You people think that the only reason some people will raise their voice in opposition is if they are rewarded - shows what kinda character you've got.

I once got kicked out of a church 'cuz a preacher was screwing a 14 y/o buskid and I wouldn't shut up about it.  You just don't get it - you see shit going on that isn't right.  And you speak the fuck up because if everybody did - the world would be a better place.

XC has some stupid shit going on that rips noobs off - so I don't give a shit who likes me / hates me.  I speak the fuck up.

And no I'm not paid - I've actually been working 60 hour weeks on my real job.  It looks like (based on price) that the stupid shit finally caught up to you.  So (hopefully) no more noobs to screw btc out of and I can move on.  I'm sure something else (either in RL or cryptoland) will catch the slightly obsessive side of my attention.

I ain't mchammer, I ain't spotniek, I don't have an agenda except addressing stupid shit.  'cuz if everybody did - world would be a better place.
