This coin is broken... well not broke but the difficulty re-targeting is messed up.

A huge amount of hash power will mine the coin then stop all at once. The difficulty gets stuck high. It also happened to boolberry. This problem is probably in MRO and all the other cryptonote coins.

Someone should figure out how to do re-targeting better. Improve the coin instead of a straight up copy and paste job.

EDIT: block time is 4 minutes. Everything is working fine. I assumed block time was 30 to 90 seconds.

It looks to me like the last block took 11 minutes to find.

sorry, but that statement is wrong, my friend. duck is flying high and network is much more scalable that other cryptonote forks - look at source code. window decreased, as well as cut decreased. 11 minute blocks is absolutely normal, since block finding is a lottery and duck luck. quack.
MacOS version - there will be new build next week.
Address verification - check the length.

we are not forum guys, but we will provide some explanations and advices here.

How much is the network hashrate?
Some pools say 919K, http://duck.extremepool.org/ say 229K.
those pools are wrong, I have explained in an earlier post that they took the default pool code was comes with mro defaults.

http://duck.extremepool.org is correct.

Is there a problem confirming blocks? No payments in last couple of hours.

duckNote stays opposite from other cryptocurrencies, there are lots of reasons, one is a fair launch of blockchain. It was announced on major cryptocurrency resources next moment after first block generation. Read more about duckNote specs and features: http://ducknote.org/aboutduckNote.
Info about duckNote can be found at http://ducknote.org and http://ducknote.cc

About duckNote
duckNote is an experimental open-source cryptocurrency based on CryptoNote technology and CryptoNight algorithm. It is a fork of Bytecoin - https://bytecoin.org - the very first implementation of CryptoNote. Nobody own or control duckNote. It is a scalable decentralized cryptocurrency with strong privacy protection.
Inspired by Bitcoin and idea of decentralized blockchain, but uses absolutely new source code, algorithm, protocol and separate blockchain, duckNote can be called The Cryptocurrency 2.0. It is a pure proof-of-work system that uses CPU and only CPU computing power for producing fast, secure and untraceable worldwide transactions.

Specifications
Cryptocurrency name: duckNote
Cryptocurrency ticker: [duck]
Algorithm: CryptoNight*
Based on: CryptoNote
Total duckNotes: 8 589 869 056.00000000 - perfect number
One duckNote is divisible down to 8 decimal places. "Note" used instead of "Coin" to separate duckNote from other approaches and forks.
Block target time: 4 min - to keep fast transactions, more "valuable" confirmations and small blockchain size.
Scalable cryptocurrency with <strong>fast difficulty adjustment. Difficulty is counted every block.
Smart duckNotes supply for real economy needs with ~80% duckNotes mined in the first year.
Initial Block reward = 320 000 [duck]
Block halving interval = 11 000 blocks = approx. 1 month

seems like websites stays updated frequently:
http://ducknote.org/thingstoknow2
Quote
1. duckNote is more scalable than other CryptoNote cryptocurrencies. Difficulty counting window decreased to 240 blocks with 30 blocks cut after sorting blocks.
2. duckNote has an increased size of block without penalties - 32000 bytes vs 10000 bytes.
3. Bigger block size without penalties gives an ability to put more information in block.
4. Also it gives an ability to produce more blocks with actual BASE_REWARD and predict duckNotes amount in circulation more accurate.
5. While the size of blocks increased, block target time increased too, to make blockchain size smaller.
6. duckNote has more "cryptographic valuable" blocks because of bigger block target time.
7. duckNote does not use classic CryptoNote reward formula; Instead it uses classic Bitcoin "halving rewards" after determined number of blocks = 11000.
8. duckNote minimum block reward = 150, that gives an ability to produce transactions without fees even after main amount of duckNotes will be in circulation, because miners will have block reward even without transaction fees.

Please read the notices on the site.  Address validation is broke. So when people mine the pool using mro addresses and incorrect ducknote addresses the payment processor freezes and until I manually remove those addresses:

I am aware, please read the posts above.  there are people using incrroect addresses, which freezes the payment processor.  I am working on it and worse case I will pay the blocks manually.  coins are safe but I want to give dev time to fix.

I have messaged him have not received a resonse.

at this point there are a few htings we can do and I will leave it up to community to decice, just let me know what you want me to do.

1.  Just wait until the payment processor issue gets fixed, not sure how long.
2.  I can setup a new pool, same address and decommission old pool until payment issue gets fixed.
3.  Setup new pool, same as #2, make manual payments out of old pool and hope new pool doesn't get corrupted like the current database.

let me know what you all that are using http://duck.extremepool.org would like me to do.
