Just a question... not trying to start up a Darkcoin vs Cloakcoin jerk-o-thon.  Is there any guarantees in the Darkcoin system that a masternode can just keep your coins?  I don't know a whole lot about masternodes... it's just a honest question.  Is there some form of m-of-n escrow?

It's done with a cold wallet.  So perfectly safe.

You should post this in the darkcoin thread Smiley

I'm going back and reading up on the system now. =)  I think the question is covered in the FAQ.

His question doesn't appear to be related to the MN's own coins, but rather whether the opportunity exists for the node to be a bad actor and take the senders' coins.

To answer, Masternodes cannot steal coins. They simply coordinate a group signing; the sender will not sign the resultant TX unless it is agreeable to him.

This is better answered elsewhere though, as stated above.

Carry on!  Cool

Nice too how some in the Drk forum are cheer leading the theft of the Mintpal coins, very classy.

That statement is patently ridiculous.

Why dump?

On bittrex

5000 isn't a dump, either is 10,000.  100 btc got swallowed.  Have you been watching the action?

Market only trend for certain periods and then they move sideways establishing levels.  It's just markets and trading.

Where's RC4.. Someone told me today was the day. I was expecting the coin to Flyyyyyyyy.. but no! Down Down Down.. Glad I sold all my drk a long time ago!

#Winning

Hey Bob, Cloak was pumped and dumped twice this week I might throw 1 BTC to catch the next pump to 270 because it seems going from 200-270 more than 20% increase "sideways lol" is cool...I would spend more than 1 BTC here but I'm worried that a big dump will happen specially with nothing to come yet from the dev but a promise after promise? should I wait risk it in an interest money hungry coin?

It kinda feels the US and the federal reserve relation with all the POS coins to me that's why I invested in PoW coin's.

Those aren't pump and dumps.  There is very little pumping going on and there is no reason to do so.  There might be later once all you late adopters get to the party and are shamelessly begging others to join your side.  That isn't necessary right now.  Just tell us when you get in so we all know when to get out in the medium term.  You'll be a good indicator of sentiment.

Go on and burn you power and watts on PoW.

I'm the one that sold you all that Drk in the 20's, and in the 15's, and at 10 too.  Drk is going down.  It's a piece of garbage scam, simple as that.  You can defend it all you want, blah, blah, blah.  It's a scam.  Drk is dead.  I repeat, Drk is dead.  Drk is dead.

Nice too how some in the Drk forum are cheer leading the theft of the Mintpal coins, very classy.  I wonder how many of the trash talkers are MN's ready to scrape all the scraps from their fellow holders that they can.  What you have is 800+ MN's who will defend that coin to the death because if it's relevant then they reap windfalls by shearing their fellow holders when they transact.

Go away, I cast you out.

Underrated post.

I see you're talking from a purely speculatory perspective - the perspective of 99% of the crypto noobs who are only chasing the next hype coin having the best buzz words and promises of future features from the devs.

Thing is, Darkcoin's code is soon being open sourced, which enables privacy appreciative merchants to accept it as a form of payment. When that happens, Darkcoin will be the first and only privacy coin that allows full adoption. Other coins still have a lot of work to do to reach that point. Darkcoin has the tech, easy usage, easy adoptability for merchants, and, a big and trusted USD exchange for merchants to convert to fiat, and buyers to buy with fiat - Bitfinex. Darkcoin is just so much ahead of the competition that it might very well just scoop up the whole market.

Darkcoin is moving from the the speculation phase to the adoption phase. It's far from... "dead".

Yo.   Keepin it funky and skunky here in the
Mile high citay

So,,,,, what about what illodin says, that
Darkcoin will soon be accepted Because it's
Open source?  Does that mean that cloak
Will not be accepted as long as it's closed source?
Is this THE criteria?   Can't we get audited
And still keep trade secrets?
Thanks

Cloak is on the right way with the idea of one market, everything will depend on technical developments, I am personally interested in this idea, anon function does not necessarily guarantee success even if it works, you must create a function that people want to use it by themselves. Have you ever used BTC payment in the real world? We paid with BTC at Subway, it's incredibly slow, but people use it.

Everyone who wants to be up to date ... #Onemarket in Freenode IRC.

Joe is reporting quite nicely what he is doing today and hopefully another round of testing in a couple of hours. Everyone is invited.

Cheers!

They required a confirmation?  Do they really believe someone is going to take the time to attempt a Finney attack for a foot long?

I dont think the price will make a significant move upward until a solid, bug free, PoSA wallet is released.

It should help things significantly. Not only is it a big feature; it shows the community the team is able to deliver.  PoSA is just one step in a pretty elaborate road map for the team.

It's dead to me because it is a scam and is spinning off further scams and scam type behavior.  Dead.

Buzz words:  'Crypto noobs,' 'hype coin,' 'open-sourced,' 'privacy appreciative,' 'first and only,' 'full adoption,' 'tech,' 'easy usage,' 'easy adoptability,' 'big and trusted,' 'fiat,' 'speculation phase,' 'adoption phase.'

See what I did there.

Sells in the 20's based on 'speculatory perspective.'  Sells in the 15's based on balancing, sells in the 10's based on realizing how much of a scam the coin is and the moves they've tried to pull.  Whether you like my viewpoint or not doesn't change the fact that your favorite coin is overvalued to the rest of its competitors.

Trade still in play; sell/short Drk, buy/long basket of Cloak and other anon coins if you want a balanced portfolio.  Cloak being the best value proposition IMHO.

This is good advice for those who are technologically gullible. I mean, what else could they do but look at the charts and invest (gamble) accordingly?
