Very strange.
Even my pc wallet find 0 connections, even if I have my pool as node (and it is running) and I use the same nodes list of pool in configuration..

Yeah, the wallet drops the nodes pretty fast when syncing, but I synced it and then it has been working, takes a few tries, it's like an old diesel engine. Tongue

Is there a future for this coin or is mining wasted time?
There is definitely a future. It is being decided soon. From discussion a few pages back it sounds like a hard fork is in store and all parameters are up for debate.
why dont we make grw2.0?
With a HYP-like fork launch, it could also ensure fair distribution/legacy. But this time with a reasonable grace period!
Granted, this would not be good for GRW, but this would be good for GRW holders. This is not an easy choice to make, that's for sure.
UltraStake, 8 hours min age, 1000%? Someone will use the UltraStake name, anyway.

try to restart with the -rescan switch
Would it fix the "block being stuck" issue?

-rescan will fix the stuck block issue, did for me as I was stuck on block 600.

Wau, didn't realise that was coming. Would have mined a bit harder if I'd known. Cheesy

I think that it is necessary to use another database/index structure, like the one used by other coins.

Even if startup time is better than before, I always (that means every 9 onto 10 times) get that blockindex were corrupted after a clean stutdown of the daemon in pool.

In other cases, like yesterday, index were corrupted even without a stutdown (now it is 24h that I'm try to rebuild index with bootstrap procedure), but during the normal working.

With all the other coins I did not get such problems.

Current difficulty is 12.
Maybe one of the top reached value in latest months.

It's funny, the time transactions tab is set to my computer's clock, but the coin control time is set to UTC/GMT.

Something happened a few hours before you posted this msg. Difficulty gradually climbed from 0.0x to 1.x, then suddenly leapt to 12. At this point PoW mining stalled for about 9 hours. Once mining resumed difficulty rose again and this time peaked at over 18.

Last PoW block was minted about a day after difficulty first started rising, and there doesn't seem to have been any since (5 days later). It's all PoS.

Is someone with a shiny new ASIC miner trolling the network?

Hm, that sounds really strange. 18, that would be about 1000 MH/s or more. More than just one ASIC, I'd think.

... I remember when LTC diff was 18 or 20. Tongue

The block explorer has no nodes connected now, so it's about 10-11 hours behind.  Undecided

I have 8 connections in pc wallet now.

Maybe with the POS running will be very difficulty to mine at difficulty 10 that there is now on the network.

I think you're right.
At difficulty 10.28, 1MH/s would find about 1.96 blocks per day
So to find 1920 blocks per day (45 sec spacing) would require about 980MH/s.

So perhaps it was a multipool... but I'm sure an op would know better than to hit a 0.01 difficulty coin with 1GH/s worth of hash.

But the strange thing is that the network is not minting any PoW. It would take 12 hours @1MH/s to find a block. Not ideal, but not impossible, and the difficulty should come way down once that block is found. Is no one mining this?

I try yesterday night but I have only 75KH/s of power.
I could mine tomorrow for 12h at the same rate, but it is too few.

p.s.
8° position at http://askcoin.net
With this voting rate, maybe GRW will be accepted in 2 months.
