So the plan afaik is to turn the lightwallet into a fullfledged, feature complete client and discontinue NCC down the line.
At that point you have 2 scenarios:

1) People that aren't very technical can just download the lightwallet fire it up (and it'll work without anything because you literally only need a browser) and connect to a server that's already running somewhere on the planet (hence the supernode program).

2) People that are more tech savvy will run their own Servers to both support the network and be even more secure. In day to day life though when they're only making tx they'll also only be using the lightwallet.

This will kick the usability up a considerable step.

It should have been done a long time ago but manpower is limited.

Please don't.
Because the standalone didn't work on my old PC I tried the light wallet and I had a very hard time with it and even more to remove it from my system. Without the standalone I can not use nem anymore.
Always keep that Standard solution.

I've started local harvesting and got 2 blocks in about 3 hours. Then I activated delegated harvesting and connected to a remote node and got no blocks in two days. Today I activated delegated harvesting launching nis on my own machine and got 2 blocks in a couple of hours. Was it a coincidence or I was doing something wrong?

Sometimes people can reboot supper node if they update something, you just need to check if its running.
If node have newest clinet is not nesesery to do it.

hARVESTING IS RANDOM. Once i have 6-7 blocks a day once 0 once one transaction with 150xem fee once 10 in row with 0 reward.

I harvested my largest block last night, presumably due to the high trading volume.

I got over 250 XEM from one block!
I know others have even harvested way more than that...

How can you have a hard time removing the light wallet from your system? It's just deleting a few files since there is nothing being installed.
Are you walking about the installer ?

Original post: "Wrongly accused “sock puppet” accounts - Request to the community" - https://forum.nem.io/t/wrongly-accused-sock-puppet-accounts-request-to-the-community/2373/11

Dear fellow Nemsters,

my father and I are initial BT stake holders. I did every step of the redemption correctly and received the adresses and private keys - everything was fine, at least I thought so..

Month later when I was trying to import them into the wallets they showed 0 XEM. I waited a few month before I first imported them because at the time of redemption the wallet system was still a test version, so I wanted to wait until there was a final version.

A few weeks ago BloodyRrookie told me that apparently we became the victim of a last round of sock puppet elimination (I guess because I used my PC to complete the redemption process for both stakes - but of course I had to do this because my father was not able to do that, not everybody is a crypto bug, that should be clear).

I tried to explain that and offered to provide any proof they need to see that we are legit (Just as a reminder: the rule was "one stake for you and one additional for a family member" or sth..).

However BloodyRookie told me that it is too late to provide that proof and give us our rightful share because "if we did, the community would not accept that".

I don't accept that argumentation! I know that they had to do sth about sock puppets, but if during the (flawed) process legitimate investors get wrongly accused that should be acknowledged and fixed.

What do you guys think? I would like to open a discussion about how to handle wrongly accused investors like us - I am sure we are not the only ones!

Thanks for your time.
Best, J

2 years past must be enough for stake-distribution complaints. It's just not fair to review this now.

Hope we see a downloadable QT style wallet for windows /linux/ mac

That's what I  hope to see comming one day.
I have always a fight till nem is running on my always outdated browsers with all this nasty java (always wrong version)
Don't understand how ppl can like java/browser systems.
But I am not complaining. It looks good once it is started that I have to give.
Just sold my first few nem's and I am very happy.  Cheesy

qt wallet - unless someone in the community will be willing to do that, that's probably not gonna happen

@gadado - with lightwallet you don't need java installed at all!

Got some PMs from scared people who bought above 2350 yesterday!

Calm down guys, here:

@rtrtcrypto
You say I got burned? When and how? (trading wise)

Also, you have to understand something, unlike most people that do not follow TA, traders following some form of proper TA (not EW IMHO) can't get REKT if they do things properly:

1) Stop loss
2) No margin or small leverage

Like I said, risk management..

Although I agree with what you say in the post above, I must say that I don't agree with you in general. (leverage is evil and I'd advise anyone to be cautious after sudden changes in price)
The thing here, is that you assume everyone is only interested in getting more BTC from trading altcoins. If you knew the NEM community you would take into consideration that we are actually only interested in long term gains.

Therefore my risk management is :

Keeping my XEM in my wallets and hold them there untill I can really start using them in stead of dumping on exchange for bargain prices :-)

Let's be fair here , you are promoting day trading while you seem to be insensitive for the fact that lots of people are not interested in those practices.

Do you know how many people we've seen here that thought that they were selling during a high with the expectation to buy when XEM was on a retrace (or whatever daytraders call it) ?
Lot's of people have burned their hands while trying to achieve some additional gains. It may very well be that you are a master trader that has a system to prevent you from missing out on these spikes but there are some facts that you are missing here.

First of all, the reason why so little people have been paying attention to NEM is because we have never been interested in hyping NEM to traders. Nothing good will come from that in the long run anyway.
Getting attention from people that are in it for the long run and are actually interested in NEM's technology is the only thing that counts.
So although we may have gotten some daytrader attention now, I'm sure some new long term hodlers have discovered NEM in the last couple of weeks.
Ever wondered why so little people are dumping after a surge like that Huh
Second thing. Lots of developments are going on behind the scenes.

Do you have any trading system/indicator that can predict the impact of the above mentioned things?

I may be wrong in not taking a profit here and there after a huge spike but at least I don't have to worry missing the train when it's leaving for the next station.

The reason I'm replying to your posts is mainly because I don't want newbie investors to listen too much to all that daytrading wisdom. It will only harm them in the long run IMO. As long as it's not daytrading that dictates the price of XEM your analysis will only get you this far, but may just as well force other people to make bad decisions for themself in the long run.

My advice to anyone interested in NEM:

1. Take your time to research what this NEM thing is all about
2. If you want to be a day trader , feel free to do so but don't forget lots of people are only losing money on it.
3. If you chose not to become a daytrader then don't let sudden price fluctuations affect your mood, don't panic sell and don't FOMO buy!
4. Enjoy the ride! Everything in life has its ups and downs. And it's the downs that separate the boys from the men (or girls from the women if you like  Wink )

Everything will be fine, I promise!

How can you have a hard time removing the light wallet from your system? It's just deleting a few files since there is nothing being installed.
Are you walking about the installer ?

When I tried to delete the folder it said that I don't have the rights to do that.
Checking in taskmanager it showed 2 instances running that were never closed despite not seeing anything open on the desktop.
Honestly the whole light wallet put me up on a fight right from the start (connection rights) and the opening page where you should have selected or enter things I don't know what (remote server, wallets) didn't look inviting and as simple as your standalone browser page. I didn't go any further than that. Not knowing what it really does I didn't trust it and not wanting to risk my nems.
The safest way for me was to change the PC and use what I already knew. Your standard solution.
I dont want to install the light wallet on that pc not after seeing that 2 exe were not closed you understand.
Given it can be that my old Vista PC is the problem but you see it is always healthy to have a backup old fashion solution just for ppl like me.

p.s. and no i don't use installers. (trust thing) I prefer .zips
