The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Yeah bit of news from the Jap community is making this coin pump!

I wonder if POT investors will pump this coin now POT is dying.

It would be a very wise move if they shifted their POT funds into XEM Wink

I think the consensus is that the trollbox might not be the world's most authoritative source of information.

I think this is what people are making out of the translated link, either way, its pretty big news in japan to see this reaction.

Wow! 2 separate & distinct good news for NEM/mijin!

OKWave (Large Q & A website in Japan)
http://btc12.com/thread-203.htm

https://api.telegram.org/file/bot244155310:AAEvfwPfRvLazd8x-pd1g9Vby7oR0dTAqsM/document/file_1916.pdf

"Also, the system provides has high processing ability and convenience as well as higher tamper resistance through a
process called “anchoring” in which a separate hash is made of piled up saved blocks, and it is registered to a public blockchain called NEM,
which is compatible with bitcoins and 'mijin'"

Arara (supermarket in house e-money?)
http://mijin.io/ja/709.html

(any translations on this?)
https://www.arara.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/c9a7974cbc9816c284848b606d66e97e.pdf

"In response to the results of this experiment, we aim to block chain practical use in electronic money within a year in the Arara."

So as a recap, today there was a 1, 2, 3 combo of news.  Three companies, using Mijin for three different use cases, have all fully tested mijin, tried to break it, and have found it passing with flying colors.  They are now in the process of rolling it out as the backend to save money and provide better services to their customers.

1) BC Finance in partnership with Infoteria and Tech Bureau is working to put a private blockchain on Azure. BC Finance is the largest microfinance institution in Myanmar.  They have had successfully tested mijin for microfinance transactions and loans and are now announcing they will move their backend to mijin.  Infoteria is a large enterprise software provider to over 5000 medium to large size businesses in Japan.
Japanese: http://japan.zdnet.com/article/35089939/
English: Coming Soon.

2) OKWAVE , the largest website in Japan for Q&A and online since 2000, is using mijin as a knowledge distribution system, logins/registrations, license management of intellectual property, and micropayments.
Japanese: http://www.okwave.co.jp/news/press_log/2016/0928.html
English: http://nemflash.com/creating-okwave-ebisu-knowledge-distribution-system-built-blockchain-technology/
Technical Report: Coming soon.

3) Arara is a large solution provider in Japan for in-house e-money cards for shops, supermarkets, and cafes. They have millions of dollars in store card credit issued and after extensive testing of Mijin predict it will cut their backend costs by 70% while at the same time providing better security and 100% uptime for their clients.
English: http://nemflash.com/proof-effectiveness-emoney-transactions-arara-using-blockchain-technology/
Japanese: https://www.arara.com/news/press/entry4719/
Japanese: http://mijin.io/ja/709.html
Technical Report: https://www.arara.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/6d4068ddac6f8ca760b1b214045ed5ef.pdf

The take away here is that NEM tech is ROLLING OUT and at SCALE with real businesses with real customers. Others are testing or worse "planning" but NEM tech is here now, ready, safe, secure, and being deployed in a variety of settings.

Buying XEM means you are investing in NEM. The belief is that as the larger NEM ecosystem grows, so too will the demand for xem. We are already much further along than Bitcoin was when it was 2 years old.

What's stopping these companies from rolling out their own private blockchains (say, their own copy of Mijin), and entirely exclude NEM, and then make them available for their target groups (read: not the NEM stakeholders)?
(Please don't tell me it's the relationship between these companies and the NEM devs and their good hearts.)
