Not to hijack this thread, but NEO was a token that recently caught my eye and which I am considering investing in. But I haven't gotten too far on the research. Would you like to try to talk me out of it in a few sentences? Why are you calling it a scam? This is an honest question and I won't argue, but will consider the info if/when I do choose to make an investment. Thanks

Price action is poor, Market condition is poor when shitty projects like NEO scam produce growths on hype, not on fundamentals (just like NEM have). But it's ok for people who want to buy cheap XEMs:). See my technical works with XEM (XEMBTC and XEMJPY pairs).

My english is not so good to answer good for this question. Maybe i have used to hard word. Maybe better word is "clone" than "scam". Clone of Ethereum to be precise. Created to emulate recent Ethereum growth, not even technology, and maybe dress the public with coins, that can have value backed only on hypes. Is that honest from the creators side? You must answer yourself. I am simply not intrested in playing coins without any signs of fundamentals, nor have a time to research deeper projects like NEO (and this rebranding from Antshares, like DASH double rebranded from Xcoin to Darkcoin and then to Dash, nice tricks to bump price and dress the newcomers). Maybe i 'am wrong. For speculation maybe NEO is good. But not for investing, like in XEM.

This is really good news. I have never heard about CERT but after searching for it, I was surprised and realized about how influencial this authority could be.
NEM is very strong in areas of Japan, Korea and in South-East Asia. It has a lack of adopation in China. If NEM could get a food into the door of the Chinese crypto market, then it would have a big impact. Sometimes I misses a marketing strategy of NEM. Such news could really be a big marketing leverage.

Fair enough. I will take a hard look at fundamentals, as in make sure there are some, before making an investment. Thanks for the insight.

OK, back to XEM. TBH I was a bit worried about the recent price drop so soon after it had gone up so nicely, but it seems to be recovering and stabilizing, so all good

I really hope they have some huge partnership in the works or something to stoke up interest and give this coin the shot in the pants it needs to really take off.. August is halfway over and still no word on catapult. I don't think that in itself will be a big shot pricewise, maybe it will maybe not, but personally I don't think it's likely to get people all excited and bring a bunch of money into nem..

It seems a lot will happen in the coming 6 weeks from now to October 2nd. This period would be the most remarkable for NEM. We will probably refer to such period a lot in the coming years. Very exiting time ahead. Moreover, the 2nd of October is not the end of such period but rather more like the beginning. COMSA ICO will start on that date and will last for a month, then right after that a lot of new ICOs will be released on COMSA. The summer will be done by then and we will be heading toward an even larger winter bull period. That is not even counting Catapult release and NEM marketing campaigns that will be running just in time with all these exiting news.

It might very well be that after the coming couple of weeks XEM will never get under 10K sats again.

Note: The evaluation in BTC is more accurate than in USD as it reflects market cap advancement and gains.

I think private key wallet means you are importing private key. All wallets have a private key. Just create a regular new wallet and export the private key once created.

Mmm in that case it would work in a weird way: I selected "sign up" since I don't already have a wallet (there's log in as well) and it gives me 3 different wallets options: simple, brain and private key, and in order to create the private key wallet I need to complete the form before, including the private key field, which is blank

You are right the XEM price is much more stable in USD, if BTC flies up and down sometimes it seems the XEM price is dropping fast, but the USD price stays the same
