Version numbers do not refer the completion level. 0.x version can be quite ready, 95 %, but it is not officially published.
What is now missing from NEM ?

Is that an essential feature ?

There are always some features to be added, but when can be said that the software is "ready" ? Smiley

I dunno what these people coming out with this 'not ready' shit are smoking. Bitcoin was up for sale for years at 0.whatever.

I don't know why it isn't on more exchanges, but ground is being lost needlessly. I have no idea why some people think it's good thing not to be over with as many people as possible.

NEM is still in experimental phase. Do you really want thousands, even millions, of people flocking to a platform that is still experimental?

It doesn't sound like a good idea when we even haven't left beta stage, this tech will manage people's literal finances which affect their daily lives. Developers have to make sure it's extra secure and stable.

It will be ready when it will be ready and when that happens more exchanges/people/companies will pick up NEM.

From where do you take that "experimental" ??
That sounds like something is just an experiment, a trial, and it might be aborted, if the test result is negative.

The softwares, which have been built for NEM, have quite many features. Now I could not name any Bitcoin or NXT wallets' feature, which NEM does not have...  I have used only quite basic operations but still must wonder, which are the features that NEM must still get ?
... must get to be "non-experimental" ??

It is totally legit blockchain with working solutions. We have many building blocks, now time to incorporate it into real life problems Smiley But saying that NEM is experimental is totally wrong.

Good timing there. Nem is losing less than any of the top 10 today which i suppose is a positive.

NEM is holding its own astoundingly well. It's only lost 3 cents from yesterday. I expect it to recover by tomorrow.

I think the Chinese and South Korean crackdown on ICO's will help COMSA and thus NEM. COMSA is the first attempt I'm aware of to create a platform for legit vetted ICO's based on existing businesses to avoid all the scammers. NEM foundation saw this coming IMO.

FYI, all ICO legit or not are officially banned in China atm. COMSA is not exempted even if they have legit business. While all none ICO coins like NEM is expected to recover quickly.

China banned the Internet initially as well. Most likely they will ease back once they have proper regulation and policing in place. My point was more that regulation is coming to the industry and NEM is ahead of the curve in that regard. If China does reopen the door to ICO's, COMSA will have a high chance of meeting their requirements.

You should probably count the number of bugs in Ethereum compared to Nem.

Seriously, ALL of Bitcoin is in experimental phase.

ALL and ANYTHING tied to Bitcoin is in experimental phase in its current state.

You did not even attempt to prove why it's not experimental, just a very weird and confusing statement you made there  Roll Eyes

sorry, if you are confused ...

You just clap your hands and say "experimental" ... without any definitions. You have your subjective meaning of experimental, please open it more.

If we continue with the same level of discussion, I can say that democracy is now in experimental phase, and also our life in current tech world is meeting experimental coincidents, etc.

Be more accurate, unless you like FUD.

Go to Nem.io and see their road map. IMO, no other project has more rounded vision in building the crypto eco system + foresight

Okay. I cannot believe this.

The NEM blockchain's range of features is made available to you through simple RESTful JSON calls to an API Gateway Server. This drastically simplifies creation of client apps, or interfacing servers to the blockchain. You can implement your usage of the blockchain using any language you prefer without being forced to reimplement existing business logic or develop in an unfamiliar environment.

Can I seriously develop for the NEM network without trusting or depending on third parties, and without installing anything on my servers?

I need to read the documentation.

Hard for me to give the investment advice. But I am fully into NEM platform, as it has the best technology on the market currently. And lots of working products.

I see you write a lot in bankera thread and you stated that you invested in bankera.
Just for your information bankera is one of the projects that will be using  NEM  technology Wink

In fact I discovered NEM through Bankera. Smiley

I will buy some XEM as investment and use a part of them to buy more Bankera. That way I can make myself familiar with the protocol. Which exchange do you recommend?

I want to buy XEM from SEPA and from Bitcoin.

Correct. A lightweight app can use the API of supernodes and by verifying the results across multiple nodes you do not need to trust any single source.
