Let's be self-critical here-what are the potential pitfalls? My guess would be that WeChat is Chinese and therefore there could be some government intervention/prohibition.

Anything else to think about? On the face of it, this seems huge, and that $5 price target for 2018 seems very doable (we may well end the year over $1).

The Chinese crypto market is crippled. As far as I can tell this is the equivalent of getting something on the Ios or Play store which anyone can do. If it did gain some traction then clearly Wechat is going to do exactly what the government will tell them to do and remove it.

I can only assume the reason it's slipped through is that Wechat or the government doesn't know what NEM is or care enough.

I think this particular news is a fun little development that got horrifically blown out of proportion.

It sounds like other interesting things will come to fruition soon.

NEM- my main headache of the year. I bought it in may, and for today my loss is 70%!
Even some of my shitcoins showed the best result.

The main rule of the crypto-trader - consider the profit in comparison with bitcoin, and not to the fiat money)). I bought XEM for 6500 satoshi/coin, now the price is 1600.

The peak was around 13000 satoshis give or take a few hundred. That equates to $1.88 at current BTC prices.

Choosing USD or BTC pricing might be the difference between sadness and elation. I chose USD for NEM a long time ago.

It's natural the BTC ratio will plummet when BTC is on a run. At the same time the BTC ratio will rise when Bitcoin is falling or resting. It all ultimately levels out.

I am bullish on NEM as well. I think the upswing is not over for the next days/weeks. Also the official Trezor integration should happen in the next days in the NanoWallet.

Great to see NEM finally breaking the ~$20 cents mark! Can anybody tell me where this sudden price jump came from? Was it because of the news of WeChat integrating a wallet that will support NEM? I wasnt sure if this news were true or not.
But even if this now only was a pump and it will go down again to maybe  ~$30 cents or so, with Catapult release, the new PoI algo and (maybe if its true) the wechat integration, Nem will land on much higher grounds, thats for sure!

Yeah, at the very least this coin seems to be alive again. Though it seems that any new app requires an approval process on WeChat so perhaps this isn’t something that just slipped by. Suppose we’ll see...
