The highest point this year, 0.982 US dollars, have to say that the price is some more regrettable, but the current steady at 0.9 US dollars, the big trend is still, hope NEM can go to 2 US dollars
The price has been way above 1 $ this year.

Awfully grumpy-why?
They're asking for nearly 10% of all NEM community funds. That's more than a little excessive for a finite resource that will never return intended to benefit the project as a whole. Even if they'd stated it would be paid back, which they haven't, that's asking that fund to take an outrageous risk on something that sounds like every other bit of tech dreaming out there. They've also glued the magic word ICO and airdrop in there too. They may all be wonderful people but it's not even a no strings loan, it's flat out zero risk free money gifted to them, albeit conditionally and staged. 0.5-1% of the fund makes it an acceptable bet. Not this type of proportion. That sounds like very fair criticism. The details are very scant, so it might just be a buzzword-filled project as opposed to something that adds real value to the ecosystem. Who has the power/ability to approve the use of community funds? Perhaps it makes sense to open a dialogue.

I finally sold a small portion around $1 but I've been hodling since the price was around 100 sats. Riding on the NEM train has been exhausting but also thrilling. This is one of the best projects around IMO. The development team is amazing. Perfect success without any noise or hype!
Sold recently from 100 sats, you will need to update forum username.

Who has the power/ability to approve the use of community funds? Perhaps it makes sense to open a dialogue. NEM community is doing a good job giving them what's what over on the official NEM forum https://forum.nem.io/t/micai-the-world-s-first-ai-based-private-wealth-management-protocol-built-on-the-nem-blockchain/10698, I consider the project blessed we have so many intelligent participants that ask the hard questions, poke the pig. Of issue for me, I like Lon and he seems to have brought a lot of needed organization and leadership to NEM early on when no one knew NEM from the nxt guy, but damn he's now put his rubber stamp of approval as "Special Adviser" on pretty much every NEM-centric ICO that's come out the chute. Lon, you made it, you're there, too much too fast can ruin a man quick, slow your roll and be a bit more selective on the projects you endorse in role of NEM Foundation President.

Very promising coin, but already a little expensive. It is necessary to take on rollback. It is evident that interest in the community has awakened to it.

This morning I wanted to sell a small amount of DMD Diamond and buy DNotes. DMD Diamond trades on BitTrex and DNotes trades on Cryptopia. Normally I'd just send out the BTC from the DMD sale to Cryptopia. But it wasn't a huge amount to begin with and would have been substantially reduced by BitTrex' BTC withdrawal fee of 0.001 BTC.
Over the past couple days I noticed a pattern with the NEM market. It seems to hit very close to a Dollar in the night (I'm in the Western Hemisphere) but then drops down to around 85 or 90 cents as the day goes on. Based on this pattern I decided to go ahead and buy XEM with my BTC on BitTrex and then send it to Cryptopia. It cost me 4 XEM to withdraw it (so less than four Dollars). I figured I'd wait until late in the evening or early the next morning to try to sell that XEM for a little higher than what I'd paid for it. It turned out that for whatever reason XEM was going for higher on Cryptopia so I was able to sell at a good price (relative to what I bought it for). I paid 5518 satoshis for the XEM and sold it for 5793 satoshis. I was also able to sell some stray XEM that I had stuck in my Cryptopia wallet from a previous trade made many months ago. Cryptopia currently charges 15 XEM for withdrawal so there really isn't any realistic way to get the XEM off the exchange other than selling it.
The end result was I got my DNotes bought at far less cost than it would have been to have just stuck with BTC moving from one exchange to another. I might have even made some money on the arbitrage, though it really was a small amount of XEM I was buying and selling.
My point in sharing this is to mention that for right now at least, XEM makes a nice gateway coin when you need to send funds from one exchange to another in order to sell one coin and buy another.
And for anyone here wondering why I didn't just HODL the XEM I bought, don't worry, I have plenty of XEM I'm hanging onto. In this case I used XEM as an intermediary coin and it worked out well for me. I may do this again.

I’m worried about the indexing to BTC which is now under pressure due to bitcoin cash. We really need to become a fiat pair to develop some independence.

The JPY and KRW trading pairs are holding strong for now but we could really use a dollar or euro trading pair soon.

Alts are just starting to hit the western news media-and NEM is never mentioned despite being top 10. That’s worrisome. NEM team if you’re watching...get someone to raise awareness with Bloomberg or the WSJ.
