Thanks.  I opted for the coupon, but think that both coupons and refunds will happen only after the current 'mass order' crisis is over at Bitmain's.

Import duty or is this VAT?

I was told that as mine was categorised as computer equipment it was exempt from import duty but liable to VAT.

Customs duty
NO, there is no customs for computer equipment (and miners) into the EU.

It is only VAT equivalent that is charged, but it is charged by customs (it is no duty though).

This is charged as most stuff sold within the EU is subject to VAT and not charging it to imports would increase an unfair advantage to manufacturers outside the EU. (and obviously the state would loose money)

Whatever, UPS call it customs duty, EU calls it import duty and they have shown me to their calculator, i call it extra money out of my pocket.

You could opt and host your S3s outside the EU and not pay VAT Smiley

nice temps .. looks like the additional fan and heat sinks drop the temps significantly. that is about the same temps i am seeing with my modded S1's.

The fans are 140mm

BITMAIN say this "Fans: Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends."

That means 140mm wide by 38mm thick :-)

i doubt that these fans will be enuf for the cooling
i'll try to add some small heatsinks in the components

i think they already have additional heat sinks. the only heat sinks you might add are to the vrms. 40-41 degrees is running nice and cool.

I wonder what the intake temp was on that screenshot. Looking good Bitmain!

its cheaper than in Indonesia... HAHA
we have to pay around 25-40% of the miners, depends on the mood of the officers  Cheesy

if i compare it with buying locally (in indonesia) from importer too
more expensive, but it'll be a fully working one, no dead chip
no need to deal with import tax officer
its all about risk...
high risk, high gain (cheaper), and vice versa.... Grin
try to import by urself... then if u got dead chip, or DOA
then u'll be fckin urself Cheesy
sending these parts back to bitmain? it'll take another week to have it shipped back to you
so, u'll be delayed 2weeks doin nothing coz of RMA, maybe watching BTC price...  Cheesy and still fckin urself HAHA

I would email Bitmain it looks as if there is outgoing problem on their side. I have placed 5 orders with them over last few months and ever had any stall in out going customs like that.
