I've learnt that dogs masturbate. "Fuck me, Grimm! Yeah, fuck me hard. Now, lick my balls."

I guess if you want to be grammar and language purist it is good information. But I was under the impression that these words have identical meaning. And there is no 'times' difference between them really.

And there is no 'times' difference between them really. I am also under the impression that they are alternative forms for the past tense and past perfect of the verb "learn" - as the users in the link fearlesscat10 provided go on to state, "learnt" seems to be the form most common outside North America, and "learned" the most common within. So, I believe it is correct to say either "today I have learned" or "today I have learnt", for example. For reference: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/words/learnt-vs-learned.

Possibly, akin to the word 'whilst', with it and 'learnt' used by others, like myself, to simply be cute (another word we could cutely dissect). Either way, I've learneth something today.

Wow, I started a conversation. It was just something I was never sure of, so I got curious. I was also under the assumption that they were interchangeable. But to each their own.

I've learnt that nefarious vendors could easily read which lottery thickets are winners via phase-contrast tomography, purchasing them for themselves, and selling only the losing or lower-winning ones.

Hey, it's better than it used to be. In the 80's, I could do it with a strong flashlight.

Today I've learnt that a fully-charged car battery holds about as much energy as a sandwich, and that, incidentally, that is also about as much energy as would be released if you completely burn an adult man's hand. http://what-if.xkcd.com/128 - Zippo Phone
