I've been meaning to start this thread for a while now, and was even going to title it What I Learned Today, but opt for the better title with hopes of drawing in more users, thus possibly having more contributors.

Each day, we all learn something new, no matter how mundane it is. Sometimes, we desire to share are new found knowledge on this forum with others, but most of the time we're unable to insert our discoveries in a post on some thread--until now.

All I ask is that your find is genuine, not contrived, and that it somehow enriched your life, thus wanting to share your newly found gem to enrich others.

My first contribution is the word 'svelte' (Google it) which I came across at the beginning of this lengthy article: http://www.theverge.com/2012/2/21/2789676/rim-blackberry-mike-lazaridis-jim-balsillie-lost-empire I don't believe I've ever encountered it before, but after looking it up, I'm surprised I haven't seen it more often.

Your contribution doesn't have to be a word, and it can relate to anything.

What have you learnt today? Please share!

I learned that Windows 7 task scheduler sucks big balls. I have a server I've been trying to consolidate, but two weeks later it is still running on an XP machine because the completely rewritten tasks just don't run correctly regardless of effort. It's a fustercluck.

I learned that my wife is cheating with the same girl I’m cheating on her with.

Now I have two wives!

That would make you a husband-in-law to at least one of them.

I learned today that relearning HTML is not at all like riding a bike, and trying to keep a company together pre-release can be a challenge.

I've learned that the percentage of virgins studying anthropology (20%) is four times less than the percentage of virgins studying mathematics (83%). Interestingly, computer science students are studs compared to the maths students with half the number of students being virgin (40%).

Hmmm. I think this study took place at a Christian university.

I learned today that my ex-girlfriend is a squirter.

The turn-off: she told me on the phone.

I've learned that no matter how much hard work you put into making a first post look good, some people just can't be bothered to read the rest of the thread. Sad

Therefore, a better thread starting/first posting model is in order. I'll title the thread, Boss will write the first post, and Matthew will edit it. You'll be allowed to pen the first reply. I post the thread purposely in the wrong category, whereby the mods will move it thus giving it credence.

I learned that Mark Hamill (Star Wars-Luke) is the same guy who did the voice acting for Joker in the Batman animated series/movies, and also in both the new Batman games.

I've learnt that even if you start a brand new Facebook account, from the ads on the right hand side of my new account, I see that they know I graduated in 1978 and even suggest my sister as a friend as well as an uncle I haven't spoken to in a couple decades. Somebody tell me how the hell is that even possible.
