There is no new mac wallet to upgrade to.


Majika - are the forks in the network the result of an attack or an error?

I resysnced my mac wallet yesterday and all the previous bad/orphan transactions I had disappeared and my coins were returned to my balance.
I believe I'm on the main chain now as it's keeping in sync with the top block on the block explorer.

As I mentioned earlier, I've had no luck getting a new install of the new windows wallet to fully sync the block chain.

Just got back a good amount of coins, got my wallet restored thanks to Majika, awesome help. I'm quite impressed of his abilities, not that I've expected something else. Most promising project I've been involved it.

quick update,

We have finally identified (and confirmed) the correct blockchain, we have linked up node 3 and the Block Explore to the correct chain, we are moving the other nodes code base over to the same as node 3 and the BE.
This should be done in the next few hours.

We have reinstated the features and will be available in this next release.

It should be noted that the OSX wallets are running on an out-dated trunk of the Aero code base. We will resolve this shortly with the correct repository and will make a fresh build once we have the exchanges back up and the windows wallet ready, tested and out.

I restored my previous wallet and perform a "-rescan". It's working and staking.

I'm also in sync with the block explorer.

Yes its a promising sign however i cannot guarantee this 100% just at this moment so please hold from sending and Aero.. It was a pain in the butt retrieving the lost transactions we managed thus far so please hang on a little longer and we should be good to go.

As you may already be aware we have had our fair share of trials and tribulations more so over the past 48hrs.
So in the next tentative steps I hope you have the Aero blockchain fixed and moving properly again.

I would very much appreciate your cooperation and carry out this mandatory update to the latest wallet (below)
Follow the steps provided below please make sure you back up your wallet.dat to keep your coin data safe.

Some additional information. We could have had this fix to you sooner however I dont like to point fingers but it seems
the temptation to make a few extra coins by staking become to tempting for the few who prevented the majority from
forcing the blockchain out of the way. I hope this sheds some light (for those who followed on IRC) on how cryptos really
work and grasped some of the technical challenges which were faced in overcoming this issue.  

I will be making a complete breakdown of what events occurred and what actions were taken to remedy the situation in
an attempt to illustrate the problem and also to shine some light on what is involved in managing, operating and developing
for a coin.

FULL Install method:
=============

1) Please download the wallet from the download link below - Windows wallet: Aero-qt-WIN-V3.0.0.0
   VirusTotal scan results - https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/c8db85355d4329745f4ec245e4d269adc512964b22735b99b7e7b396bdb5e197/analysis/1412292008/
2) remove old wallet -- completely (backup wallet.dat)
3) Install the new wallet (Aero-qt-WIN-V3.0.0.0)
4) browse to installation folder (for windows users usually: %appdata%\Aero\.. ) now create a config file (the naming convention is Aero.conf)
5) add the config info below and save (save with .conf file extension)
6) now run the wallet and leave sync.

Additional Notes
===========

If you still have problems we need you do carry out a resync of the blockchain

1) We need you to please do a full resync of the Aero wallet
2) rerun the wallet from the command line using Aero-Qt.exe -rescan
3) If it still fails, can you please download & use the NEW wallet (meaning backup wallet.dat, uninstall old wallet and then install this Fixed wallet)

Changes
======

Based on the Aero'Coin' code base that includes the mixer code but no EM

- Removed legacy code references, replaced them with AERO!
- Renamed all instances of AeroCoin to Aero.
- Changed the version number to 3.0.0.0 in both the Aero-qt.pro and clientversion.h
- Added in hardcoded checkpoint at blocks, 100, 1000, 10000, 30000, 60000, 90000, 114720
- Windows build, rebased on Qt 4.8.5
- Resynced the block chain against Block Explorer
- Confirmed correct chain, from public engagement
- Recoded the EM back into wallet (big job)
- Rebuilt 3x Seed node daemons on the new code base, that includes Mixer and EM capability
- Resync Seed nodes against Block Explore
- Confirm nodes balances
- OSX Build, rebased on Qt 4.8.5
- Create Public version of the source code
- Push to Git
- Test build public source on Ubuntu 12:04

Awesome not only did the price not tank during this but when I turned my wallet back on I was staking 2999 in wieght with my total of 1500 coins. Patience, if not a virtue maybe a value. Thanks guys.
