based on your suggestions I made some changes URLs are now un-encrypted which will allow google to index them also I enabled direct access and hot linking for example you can link directly to wikileaks like this http://bitviewer.net/browse.php?u=http://wikileaks.bitjust put whatever .bit site you want to browse in front of http://bitviewer.net/browse.php?u=or you can be really slick and embed links like this http://wikileaks.bithopefully this will get more people interested in and viewing .BIT domains enjoy!

All we need now is someone to setup a loadbalancer point so every other user with sufficient bandwidth could setup their own .bit proxy and the loadbalancer could, well, balance traffic between the various proxies.

Nice! I wonder if you could add a rewrite so that, http://bitview.net/someaddress.bitwould map to your proxy script. This would make it easier to remember and really clean for people to just type in when they need.

You, sir, are doing great work.
I would think this makes namecoins more valuable. Are there even price charts for NMC anymore?
Would https make this even more popular? Give an inch, we ask for a mile.
Thank you.

Am I doing something wrong ? I seem just to get a fma.com advertisement with 'we're changing the face of the internet landscape'. I tried to input several domain names at http://www.bitviewer.net, like http://www.microsoft.bit, http://www.wikileaks.bit etc, but just got the add. Could anyone provide me with a sample bit-adress so I could see how this service works ? Thanks.

Could anyone provide me with a sample bit-adress so I could see how this service works ? Thanks. You would only be able to access a .bit site if they registered the .bit address. Somehow I doubt microsoft would do that but it's mildly surprising that some other user hasn't already. Two pages to visit: http://dot-bit.org/Main_Pagehttp://dot-bit.org/WebsitesI'm no expert on this but I believe your next question is "why"? I think the idea is these names cannot be shutdown by any authority. btw wikileaks.bit works for me. Maybe you are putting in the http://? An url doesn't include that as that is the protocol. For me microsoft.bit redirects to fma.com.

cool! Now if we could only get rid of the ".bit" part. Already I find myself unconsciously omitting it, instead typing: http://wikileakshttp://bitcoinetc.

Looks like a good idea to me. You should probably earn some coins by showcasing a few rotating .bit sites in the main page in some sort of affiliate program.
