Another thing that is also interesting at the moment is the difficulty swooping down. Assuming the total hash rate has just dipped, I'd guess a couple big players have simply dropped off the market for now (could be too encourage sales into the market now, which would be a very clever marketing tactic). This is all complete speculation though as I haven't properly checked the hash distribution charts, nor have I been keeping track of their progression in the past couple days. Been too busy with my job, a real secure income! haha

Maybe the down trend is Bitmain taking units offline from their S3 farm in order to package them up and ship.

As several people noted, they plan to mine with their S3's for a bit, then sell their used units to noobs on Ebay. Assuming Bitmain (and the other mining manufacturers) implement a similar strategy, then we are their noobs ;-)

While I suppose it could, I wouldn't use it.  It's got 2 12V rails and only has 2 PCI-e connectors, so no chance of over clocking your S3.

people keep citing this 6 pci-e number, but it is incorrect: it has 6 cords, but eight connectors-see on pictures (it is clearly visible; two cords have double pci-e, bringing total to eight)

yep i just posted this about the 1300 watt model  at amazon it is a super solid deal 154 after rebate...   also if you have a discover card or a chase card you may be able to get it cheaper ..

here is how .  this is gasoline discount quarter with some chase cc's and some discover cc's.

go to a gas station that sells amazon gift cards and buy  150 worth of gift cards with your chase or discover card.

they will earn 5% so the 150 is really 142.50   .. So you can buy the evga 1300 psu for under 146 usd if you can do the gift trick and the rebate.   monster deal for s-3's

well I am pushing the 1300 not the 1000.

 the `1300 'nets to 153 with out the cc gift card trick
the '1000'  nets to 129 with out the cc gift card trick

I have 2 1300's  truly nice gear. 

 I push the 1300's since they will do 3 with no oc    =really sure about this


and they can do 4 with under clock/undervolt = hope to do this.

I did 4 s-1's with ease could have done 5  with the under volt-- down clock  .

 yes the 1300 will allow for 3 with standard clocks  and  gives a little more head room.

 the one issue with this psu is the fan is a bit noisy  but so were the s-1's

also i was running 6 ants with 2 evga 1300's so it meant for less gear/wires

you are welcome .  they are very nice gear.  the fan is a tiny bit loud when pulling 1215 watts doing 3 s-1's at 200gh 393 freq.

My s-1's are now underclocked..  waiting for my s-3's to put my second 1300 evga back to use.
